Ice therapy would definitely help to reduce the inflammation. We also advise you to use knee cap which would help to prevent the knee from damaging further and also to maintain the quadriceps muscle tone. Simple Knee Exercises would help to strengthen the quadriceps muscles which is the key muscle. Specific knee exercises will also help ie. Keeping ball underneath the knee and keep pressing it. That's the simple exercise which will help you to strengthen the knee. We also advise you to use knee cap which would help to prevent the knee from damaging further and also to maintain the quadriceps muscle tone.

Leg cramps, also known as night leg cramps, especially calf-muscle cramps, are fairly common. Please see a orthopedic or physiotherapist to rule out or identify any possible underlying cause. If there is no underlying cause the leg cramps will probably get better without treatment. Try these home remedies for relief -stretching exercises - straighten the leg and bend the ankle backwards, thus stretching the calf muscle. Walk on tiptoes for a few minutes. Stand about one meter from a wall with your feet flat on the ground. Lean forward against the wall with your arms outstretched, but don't lift your heels (keep your heels on the ground). Stay like that for about ten seconds and gently return to an upright position. Repeat about 5 to 10 times. Some people find that these stretching exercises not only help them get over a leg cramp episode, but also that help reduce how often they occur. Typically, a patient would do these exercises two or three times a day. -stay hydrated - as dehydration may increase the risk of leg cramps, drinking plenty of fluids may help prevent them. -footwear - people with flat feet and other structural problems may be more susceptible to leg cramps. Proper footwear may help. -sleeping position-supporting your toes when lying down or asleep: lying on your back - prop up your feet with a pillow/cushion. Lying on your front - let your feet hang over the end of the bed. Bedding - keep blankets and sheets loose. This helps prevent your feet and toes from pointing downwards during sleep. Best wishes.

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang asana -- lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily.

For my wife on 29 Sep 2016 doctor gave saline and injections through iv injected near to right hand wrist during delivery time for three days and removed after three days. Till day right hand is paining in the area where iv was injected, but there is no swelling. Any remedy for the problem.

she's right.sometimes I v fluids are given in the blood vessels which are near the bone and pain takes longer time to heal. she can try heat therapy plus some physiotherapy exercises under supervision of a competent person.

Hi apply pranacharya restopain oil or prasarini oil on your affected part then give hot fomentation. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. And agni tundi vati and maha yograj guggul 1-1 tab twice a day.

Actually pain at calf/leg region can be due to many reasons, commonly it is muscular in nature but it can also be due to tendons, nerves, blood vessels etc. My advise to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be: - ice packs application intensively with elevation of your limbs at night - take a short course of anti-inflammatory medication as per your body's suitability - stop your physical activity till pain completely subsides - intensive physical therapy, training and proper muscle conditioning once pain has subsided - slow resumption of physical activities with proper pre activity warm up and stretching of muscles and short increments in duration of physical activity each day as per pain tolerance. - some blood tests like serum vitamin d and serum potassium levels, esr and crp help in better diagnosis of such condition. Also can you kindly send me the details of the surgery done on her so that I can see and then advise you accordingly.

Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query. First thing is give rest to the ankle, no playing for some time till recovery is complete. Secondly apply ice pack daily twice on the swollen and painful area. If need be take some NSAIDs with paracetamol. If swelling does not subside even after these measures, then better to see an orthopedician as there may be a need for further check up like an x-ray. Thanks.

Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams Stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. repeat 10 times, twice a day. Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the knee against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain.

You will have to elaborate your problem as to a detailed discussion of your back pain which means duration of pain and mode of onset. I would also like to ask you if it is associated with any leg pain or any other neurological symptoms like numbness, paraesthesias ( electrical shock like abnormal sensations) or any weakness in limbs. Please also tell me about any associated symptoms like fever, weight loss etc. What medications you generally take and what has been your treatment history till now for existing problem. Hello lybrate-user, - use gingely oil with eucalyptus oil and apply over the area of pain and hot mil fomentation for 10 min, if that is only muscular pain it ll reduce with this. - even after if the pain subsides better to consult doctor in personal. Thank you.

Vaishnaviji, For treating hypothyroidism are taking thyroxine tablets regularly in prescribed dosage? If hypothyroidism is not controlled then cold intolerance is quite common. Plus feeling of weakness and early fatigue also occur and there may constant increase in weight. I am sure you are following the instructions given regarding dosing of thyroxine tablets, it must be taken early morning on empty stomach, there after nothing to be taken for 2 hours. This has to be meticulously adhered to. Plus avoid soya beans, soya containing products, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, radish, mustard, peanuts and coffee. Consume more green leafy vegetables, salads and fruits. Use whole grain flour for making chapati and rotl. Plus exercise regularly that will increase your fitness level. If you have any doubts please come in a private conversation where I will be able to give specific guidelines.

This is a general low back ache and for this you can follow these measures: one keep a pillow right under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes, if pain still persists you can stretch your body by twisting the waist on both sides how we used to do in the school drill similarly you can try which will help you relax as well will reduce the pain. Ice can be kept in the low back where you have back pain. It is suggestible to wear lumbo sacral belt which would help you to build the abdominal muscle tone which itself would make you feel better. You can also wear mcr chappals which would help you to have less weight falling in the painful back. As you are too young there may not be any pathological issues but it is better to take iron supplements as it looks like you are anaemic. If you have back pain after you sit for long hours then it is due to your haemoglobin levels as it is important to check that. Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired and also having back / leg pain though there may not be any pathological reasons for back pain.
