Hi Dr. my name is sahil. I have been struggling with back pain fornmore then a year. What do I do to reduce it. please help.

Hi lybrate-user here are some tips for how to handle your back pain: -stop normal physical activity for the first few days. This will help relieve your symptoms and reduce any swelling in the area of the pain. -apply heat or ice to the painful area. One good method is to use ice for the first 48 to 72 hours, and then use heat. Take pain relievers medicine. --while sleeping, try lying in a curled-up, fetal position with a pillow between your legs. If you usually sleep on your back, place a pillow or rolled towel under your knees to relieve pressure. -do not perform activities that involve heavy lifting or twisting of your back for the first 6 weeks after the pain begins. -avoid bending forward and sitting in a place for long time -stretching and strengthening exercises are important. But, starting these exercises too soon after an injury can make your pain worse. -some physiotherapy treatment like ift current can give you some relief. -a physical therapist can tell you when to begin stretching and strengthening exercises and how to do them. Take care.

My Daughter age 12 years is having lychen planus problem in leg and toe portion.What medicines should she take currently she is on levocitrizen,Mutivit.dose and ointment application 0.1% tacrolimus since 4 months and getting positve response slowly.Please suggest for a faster recovery

My mom was suffering from chikungunya bt now she is alright but her arm and legs are paining The pain in her arm at night is so irresistible that se can hardly sleep please give me some nice suggestions and as I can't go for private consultation becoz of lack of netbanking facilities it would be really helpful if you either give me the entire solution in the answer or leave your contact no. These are the side effects of Chikungunya. Beacause after this fever Liver becomes Fatty, kidneys gets affected. You just do one thing twist all fingers of her one by one she will feel better.

Is there no treatment for tennis elbow other than eating pain killers. Is diclofenac a banned drug, then why is it prescribed.

Why my hands and feet are releasing too much off heat. I avoid sugar and salt . Whenever I take sugar or salt my leg below knee start paining a different kind of pain . During that pain duration. I have urge to walk or have to hit that area very hard . Is this a disease or some mineral deficiency?

I got headache from last night, a bit of pain at shoulders and a rise in body temperature, what should I do. Is this a cold fever or something else?

Measure your temperature and tell me reading Avoid exertion Take tablet paracetamol 500 mg after food (If No Drug Allergy) as and when required for fever more than 99 f and headache (maximum 3 tablets with gap of 8 hr can be taken in a day) for 3 days Take proper diet homemade food like moong dal dalia, chapati etc consult privately

I am 22 years boy & I have a joint pain for last two days in every joint as I m suffered from fever for 4 days. Now the fever is not there but pain is still there, last day I have taken a medicine. But still the pain in joint are there. So what can I do.

Take rest it is not uncommon to have joint pain in viral fever it may settle in a wk time apply voveran gell in your joints and then give hot water fomentation take rest for further queries consult privately to have a detailed discussion to solve your problem some times you may need to do some exercises.

This back pain is due to no back exercise. Due to this muscle get stiff. When suddenly you get move fast that time this stiff muscle get break and pain start. In ayurved there is mentioned one procedure KATI BASTI .DO THIS FOR FIVE DAYS WITH MEDICATED OIL if you want to do it you should do it under doctor observation. So consult ayurvedic doctor near you. You will definitely get good result.

My mother is having cervical spondylosis and turning the neck to left causes dizziness. What to do, she consulted a doctor who saw the xray and prescribed rest.

Kindly get x ray of neck ap & lat. View blood test- hb tlc, dlc rsr, blood sugar fasting &pp urine routine test it could be due to cervical spondylosis this is quite a common condition rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Any way take ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days do neck & back (spine) exercises use of cervical collar will give her relief. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure she is not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take she will need other supportive medicines also. Do reply back for private consultation and detailed treatment plan.

Hi, I am 20 years old I have masturbated only 10-12 times so far but I am suffering from night fall for past 3 yrs. Night fall occurs for every 20-23 days. Now I feel temptation of knuckles in my right hand but not in left. If I try to keep my hand straight parallel to the ground it seems like my little finger and middle finger shivering slightly. Did my neural system became weak if so could I cure it by home made treatment?

It's absolutely an anxiety in yourself. Otherwise nothing else. Develope your confidence. Doing masturbation carry no loss in power. Can you reply me a person who is having more then 10-13children in lifetime coming from his semen. Do they fatigue till last I say never. A human can have sex till his life ends. So don't afraid off masturbation at all enjoy yourself.

Back pain has become very common these days because of daily life style and day today activities. It can be due to various reasons any injury, muscle strain eg-sudden twist while lifting object, bad posture, overuse of muscle or any internal disease like spondylitis, infection etc. Many of the problem occurs for which we are not aware. Health problem usually occurs because of living style and bad / incorrect sitting/standing posture. After looking at your pain I am recommending you some precautions and treatment that will be very effective. Precautions: 1. Avoid forward bending, if required then bend your knees first and then bend forward. 2. Avoid weight lifting. 3. Sit in chairs or car seats with proper back support. 4. Try to sleep in a position that helps you maintain the curve in your back like sidelying. 5. Get enough vitamin d from sun as vitamin d keep bones strong including spine. 6. Drink plenty of water to enhance the inter vertebral disks 7. Avoid standing in the one position for a long time. 8. Try to sleep in a position that helps you maintain the curve in your back. 9. Avoid stress full activity. When pain is less or no pain make a habit of morning walk atleast for 20 minutes to get fresh air in body which is really beneficial to keep fit and healthy. Meditations is an extra advantage along with walk. Physio care: I would recommend you for i-care treatment that is especially for back or neck pain. Rest required but it doesn't mean a complete bed rest. Do not over exert your body. Work take rest and then work so that you do not feel tired and started paining. Treatment- 1. Apply ice or heat which ever suits you directly to the area of low back pain will decrease swelling and inflammation, and ease your discomfort. Apply it for 10 to 15 minutes only. 2. Relaxing for 5 minutes after ice or heat treatment. Massage - ask someone to massage your painful area using fingers or thumb. Massage using kneading technique. Slightly press the thumb and start rotating as it helps to induce relaxation, relieve pain, and reduce levels of stress chemicals, such as cortisol and noradrenaline. It will give you pain relief for time being. 3. After massage again relax for 5 min and apply any pain relieving ointment eg - volini or oraflame gel etc. Make sure not to do massage with the gel, it should not penetrate the body. Just a topical application of gel should be done. 4. Again relax your body for 5 minutes and perform some normal back extension and hamstring stretching exercises to get relief from your pain. While performing exercises if pain occurs then would recommend you to stop doing exercise. Massage or slightly rub the painful area and consult your near by physio to diagnose the actual cause of the pain.

Im 35 years old man . I have a pain on the right side of shoulder . The pain is not very severe ,its type of discomfort in some particular movement of shoulder . Most of the pain is when im doing pushing exercise and hand rotation movement .like push ups , bench press, front raises , overhead dumbel curl etc . The pain is there from last 45 days . Kindly suggest.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to have a persistent back pain as a health issue. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Start taking mahasudarshan kwath 15 ml twice a day after food with water. take light food only when hungry. Drink water boiled with adrak & dhaniya. This will digest the toxins and fever will be gone in no time.
