I sleep late in night around 2 am and wake at 9 am due to which I am having migraine and feel depressed. What to do now?
Hi, most causes of sleeplessness are due to wrong habits and the good news is that it is very very easy to cure them 1. You have to first have a natural circadian rhythm a. Try to go to sleep and get up at the same time every day. B. And wake at the same time 2. Food a. Do not take coffee or tea after 6 pm b. Milk can be taken 3. Light a. Cover the windows and doors with curtains and avoid light b. Avoid watching tv lying in bed c. Avoid mobile phones / tablets 4. Exercise a. Walk for 45 minutes after dinner b. Take a bath after that hope you found the answer helpful. Try the above simple techniques for two weeks and let me know how much you have improved

Homoeopathic medicine can cure insomnia completely within 2 to 3 weeks. No side effects in homoeopathic medicines. 100% rapid and effective results. While taking homoeopathic medicines you must avoid coffee and soft drinks. And also as accessory management take a luke warm bath daily after dinner. Avoid tea after 6 pm. Drink one glass of milk mixed with cardamom powder at 9 pm. Switch off mobile or keep away from bed. After lying in bed deeply relax by concentrating on breath in and out.

I am 20 year old and have migraines for last 1 months. I have used pain relief ointment cream for couple of days but haven't got any relief. What should I do now?

BHMS
Homeopath, Surat
Migraine headache is characterized by unilateral pulsating headache associated with nausea/vomiting and photo phobia / phonophobia. There are triggers for migraine like sun exposure, certain foods or smell, lack of sleep, excess caffeine etc. The triggers are variable for different patients. Migraine attacks can be managed by simple painkillers like paracetamol but in resistant cases drugs like sumatriptan may be needed. For frequent episodes of migraine preventive medications are to be taken by prescription. There are various medicines available for this and if control is not achieved with one medicine another drug is to be added. Don't take painkillers daily for migraine headaches, it's better to take the preventive medicines. Painkillers on long term basis can further aggravate the migraine headache into medication overuse headache (read my health tips on medication headache) follow these lifestyle changes to avoid migraine headache 1. Maintain regular sleep wake cycle, even on holiday's. 2. Don't skip meals. Take regular healthy diet with adequate fluids 3. Do not consume excess caffeine / carbohydrates / alcohol or smoke. 4. Exercise daily (aerobics and cardiovascular) 5. Identify your headache trigger and try to avoid it. 6. Do pranayam daily. All said and done, one suggestion: please have a thorough discussion before starting off on some medication on your own. Each body is unique and will respond differently to different formulations. With homeopathy, the aim is to treat the individual holistically instead of just removing the symptoms.

I'm patient of epilepsy. Ye disorder muje sleep me hota h, always hv ox maxetol medicine. Kya permanent ilaz k lye operation ho skta h, is dis gud 4 me. Pls advice me.

MBBS, MD psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Gulbarga
It's a good medication. No permanent treatment for epilepsy, few surgery are available, but done in resistant cases only. Needs assessment of seizure to clearly say that. If your seizure is controlled on medication then just continue medication, don't worry.
