My teeth is weak. There is pain in that. They are shaking.
There is swelling in gums.
Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with surgical, gum strengthening procedures or root canal treatment. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

I am facing tooth ache when I drink/eat cold and hot items. How to overcome this issue?
This could either be due to sensitivity of tooth due to loss of enamel or due to decay in teeth. Visit your dentist to check the cause of your prob n get treated accordingly. Meanwhile use a desensitizing toothpaste such as senquelf. Rub some of it onto to the tooth surface n wait for 5 mins before rinsing.

My teeth isn't growing now. It has stopped growing in between. I have only half teeth now what should I do?

My teeth isn't growing now. It has stopped growing in between. I have only half teeth now what should I do?
Hi, Going by your description it seems you mean that entire teeth are not seen in mouth and only half of the teeth are seen. It may be a condition where your teeth hv fully erupted but are partly covered by excessive gums giving the impression that your teeth are not completely erupted. You may require crown lengthening procedure. It is a cosmetic procedure with excellent result potential. Pardon me if I hv misunderstood your question. If any other doubts feel free to consult using your free consultation. Send pics of your teeth if possible.

I am 18 years old and I was suffering from teeth ache for last two months and I take medicine but it does not relief ...
The type of treatment you have for toothache /sensitivity/swelling will depend on the cause of the pain, so your dentist will examine your mouth and may carry out an X-ray to try to identify the problem. •If your toothache / sensitivity/swelling is caused by tooth decay, your dentist will remove the decayed area and replace it with a filling. •If your toothache / sensitivity/swelling is caused by a loose or broken filling, the filling will be taken out, any decay will be removed and a new filling put in place. •If the pulp inside your tooth is infected, you may need root canal treatment. This procedure involves removing the infected pulp and then inserting a special type of filling to seal the tooth and prevent re-infection. •If your toothache / sensitivity/swelling can't be treated using these methods, or if your tooth is impacted (wedged between another tooth and your jaw), it may need to be removed.

You should not brush immediately after meals.

Food contains carbohydrates which results in minute quantities of acid production. This acid weakens enamel temporarily for about 45 minutes after which enamel reminiralizes itself from saliva.
If we brush within 45 mins to 1 hr, we are brushing weakened enamel which will wear off more easily, gradually leading to enamel loss and sensitivity.
Hence it is advisable to brush either before meals or after an hour of having meals.

Keep smiling

How do I know that my teeth and gums are healthy? I do not have any problem right now in my teeth and is tooth pastes (pepsodent, colgate etc) helps in improving teeth and gums heath or they are just for refreshing the mouth?

How do I know that my teeth and gums are healthy? I do not have any problem right now in my teeth and is tooth pastes...
Homoeopathic medicine hekla lavatooth powder (wheezal) scrub teeth daily night report after 2 months take following precautions for your teeth 1. Drinks: coffee and red wine cause major damage to teeth. But other drinks with high acidity, such as soda, juices and even sports drinks can cause damage staining on the teeth because of its tannins and acidic nature wear away at the tooth enamel. These acidic drinks lowers the ph of teeth below 6 thus causing corrosive wear and tear of teeths. 2. Certain foods: all sweets, candies, popscicles, damage teeth due to its high sugar content. So avoid them as much as you can and if you eat do not forget to rinse your mouth with water immediately after finishing it 3. Every time you take meals or eat something make sure to rinse your mouth with water and with homoeopathic rinseout gargles (sbl) after every meals 4. Use any brand paste for brushing teeth in morning but never forget to scrub teeth with hekla lavatooth powder (wheezal) at night just before sleep. 5. If possible start a habit of chewing neem stick (datuun) in the morning as it not anly scrubs our teeth but its juice acts as a good antiseptic and antibiotic to destroy the harmful bacterias stuck in out teeth cavities and inbetween teeth.

Scaling and Polishing for Healthy Teeth

BDS, CDE Endo-Prostho, CDE - Cast Partial & Complete Dentures
Dentist, Pune
Scaling and Polishing for Healthy Teeth

What is scaling?
Over time, even with regular brushing and flossing, plaque (sticky, soft, bacteria infected layer) and tartar (calcium) deposits build up on your teeth. Scaling removes the tartar and plaque with specialised equipment. Scaling effectively cleans up your teeth by using ultrasound to loosen the tartar and then using tools to scrape it off from the surface of the tooth.

What is polishing?
Polishing is done to remove excess plaque and remove stains. Scaling is always followed by polishing. Polishing also smoothes and shines the teeth to prevent plaque from building up again. It is either done by foam or fluoride gel treatment to reduce the possibility of tooth decay and sensitivity.

Why are they done?
Scaling and polishing are not only done for cosmetic reasons; they are also done for overall oral health. Excessive plaque and tartar buildup will eventually lead to the perfect environment for bacteria to thrive and multiply. The ultimate purpose of polishing and scaling is to clean the surface of the teeth so that the bacteria cannot attach to them and cause serious oral problems (such as gum disease). Also, scaling and polishing offer far better cleaning of your teeth than everyday brushing and flossing.

However, scaling and polishing is not a curative treatment. If your teeth have been damaged by cavities or other oral diseases, you need medical attention.

In fact, professionally, this treatment is called prophylactic treatment; and the word ‘prophylactic’ comes from prophylaxis, which is Greek for ‘to prevent disease’. Thus scaling and polishing is more of a preventive measure than a cure.

Do they hurt?
This process is essentially painless. Most of the people who undergo this treatment usually have the following experiences:

  1. Tickling sensation
  2. Coolness from the water used to clean the mouth
  3. Pressure during the scraping process (The dentist uses specialised tools to “scrape” the tartar deposits off the tooth’s surface). If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor and ask a free question.

I am suffering from leukoplakia in the left buckle mucosa. I have taken biopsy. Biopsy report shows" squamous hyperplasia with dysplasia.

BDS, MDS, MBA (Healthcare), FAM
Dentist, Hyderabad
Leukoplakia is a condition typically seen in tobacco users. Mainly smokeless tobacco like paan with tobacco, zarda, khaini, pan masala etc. Leukoplakia has a predisposition to turn into oral cancer. But if diagnosed early as in your case the recovery can be complete! I am really glad that you have undergone the biopsy and if biopsy shows squamous hyperplasia with dysplasia it means that we have caught the lesion early and nothing is there to worry as it has not transformed into an oral cancer lesion. How ever you need to get the rest of the lesion treated and that can nowadays be done with a laser which is painless and has fantastic healing capabilities! alternatives would be surgical excision of the lesion and re biopsy of the entire lesion that has been removed to make sure that none of the cells in that area have turned into cancer cells! but before all that what is most important is that you will need to stop the usage of tobacco totally as now you are predisposed to getting these lesions easily! tobacco is now a poison for you and if continued to be used then recurrence can occur and with severe consequences! I there fore sincerely request you to stop this habit instantly and plan for the removal of the lesion after you have gotten over the habit! thank you and take care!
