There is no medication or food for improving eyesight or to get rid of glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens b. Lasik laser as your age is now 15 years so your number will increase now whether you wear glasses or not as number becomes stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik after age of 18 yrs.

I am 27 years old male. I have colour blindness, gynecomastia, night falls, acne vulgaris, body odour after sweating. Are these problems curable? What medications I can follow?

I am 27 years old male. I have colour blindness, gynecomastia, night falls, acne vulgaris, body odour after sweating....
Most colour blind people are able to see as clearly as other  people. They are unable to see fully red-green or blue light. It is sex linked genetic disorder, affects male more than female, in male 1 out of 12 male is colour blind & in female 1out of 200 females is colour blind. Colour blindness is not a blindness but a deficiency in the way you see colour.  Currently no treatment for inherited colour  blindness, vision of most colour blind people is  usually normal in all other respects.Face book is blue because it's founder Mark-zuckerberg suffers from red green colour blindness.

My eyes strains a lot while using phone. Is this a problem or excessive usage of phone?

FPRS, DNB Ophtalmology
Ophthalmologist, Pune
My eyes strains a lot while using phone. Is this a problem or excessive usage of phone?
Here are the instructions for mobile phone use: 1. Blink, blink and blink again. Blinking often (and for more than a second) keeps your eyes moist and reduces dryness and irritation. We tend blink about a third less than we normally would when we stare at our smartphone screens, which starves our poor peepers of protective tears. Keep your eyes wet by blinking about 10 times every 20 minutes or so and you should be good to go. 2. Minimize glare. Unless you have a smartphone equipped with anti-glare Corning Gorilla Glass or use a matte screen protector film, you’re probably coping with a fair amount of annoying reflective glare. 3. Take breaks. Follow 20-20-20 rule. The concept is to take a break from looking at your screen every 20 minutes for 20 seconds while looking at something 20 feet away. Doing so relaxes your eye muscles 4. Adjust your brightness. Having your screen too bright or too dark stresses your eyes out and can cause problems maintaining focus. To eliminate either issue in about a matter of seconds, simply go into your smartphone settings and adjust your screen brightness so it’s about the same as the light level in the environment around you 5. Tweak your text size and contrast. Adjusting your smartphone text contrast and size also provides a little much-needed relief. 6. Keep a clean screen. Routinely wipe down your smartphone screen with a dry (not wet!) cleaning cloth to remove distracting dust, grime, smudges and fingerprints. 7. Hold your smartphone farther away. Try holding yours at least 16 to 18 inches away from your eyes to give your eyes a break.

When I watch something in bright light and then come back to dim light I use to see some dark spots before me. Is there any problem related to my eyes?

When I watch something in bright light and then come back to dim light I use to see some dark spots before me. Is the...
It is a normal Phenomenon and nothing too serious regarding your eyess. This is very similar to the effect that you get when you're standing there at a party and someone takes a photo, and you get those spots in front of your eyes from the flashes and you just can't see anything. It’s because of something called photo-bleaching and it happens to the cells in your retina which is the light sensitive bit at the back of your eye. It’s populated with cells called rods and cones, and these are full of light sensitive pigments. Normally, in a normal situation, you get light as particles called photons coming into your eye, these stimulate the cells by changing this light sensitive pigment, which is called retinal, into a slightly different form and they stimulate the cells to send electrical impulses to your brain. But if you get a really bright light like a flash or if you look at the sun for a long time or even just a really bright light bulb, this sends the cells into overdrive and they get really overexcited, and it takes them a little while to calm down. So then when you look at a normal level of light, like a wall,or in a dark area you get these kind of black spots where you've been looking at light where the cells have been over stimulated. So, you have lost the photo pigment in that particular area temporarily because it’s been broken down by the photons of light hitting it, and when it regenerates, it comes back then you see normal again, but while it’s regenerating up the pigment because of the overexposure, you see a less intense spot, so you therefore see a dark spot. It’s worth noting actually that the retina is less active when light shines on it than in the dark. It’s in fact deactivated by light rather than activated by light.

This condition is called Eye strain, or asthenopia, in which the eyes get tired from excessive or intense use. It can be annoying, but it tends to disappear with rest. Although it’s not often a serious condition, eye strain could be a symptom of an underlying problem. Eye strain is known to cause fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and headaches-While reading, take eye breaks for five minutes every hour can lessen the strain on your eyes. Simply closing your eyes for a few moments can also do wonders. Try standing up, moving around, or taking a short walk to help regain concentration. Regular eye exercises that involve focusing on different distances can help prevent future straining. Blink often. Blinking refreshes and replenishes your eyes naturally. If you are having trouble with blinking due to the dryness of your eyes, try using Homoeopathic CINELUBE EYEDROPS (HAPDCO) 3 times daily.

Things to Know About Lasik Surgery

Things to Know About Lasik Surgery

If you suffer from vision loss and have to wear spectacles in order to see clearly you may be considering lasik surgery. Lasik surgery can be used to treat near sightedness, far sightedness and astigmatism. It involves reshaping the cornea with the help of a laser beam. This is an outpatient procedure where you can get back to work in a day or two.

To be able to undergo a lasik surgery, you must be:

  1. Aged 18 or more
  2. Suffer from nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism
  3. Lead an active lifestyle
  4. Be in general good health
  5. Have strong tear production
  6. Have thick corneas

Before the surgery begins, numbing eye drops are applied to prevent any discomfort during the procedure. The surgery itself involves the creation of a thin flap in the cornea. This is the folded back to reveal the corneal tissue below. If you suffer from nearsightedness, an excimer laser is used to flatten the cornea while if you suffer from nearsightedness, it creates a steeper cornea. In cases of astigmatism, the cornea is smoothened into a normal shape. Once this has been done, the flap is laid back in place and the cornea is allowed to heal naturally. An uncomplicated lasik surgery for one eye usually takes less than five minutes. You may feel some pressure on your eyes and hear a steady clicking sound while the laser is in use.

You may feel temporary burning or itching immediately after the procedure. Do not in any condition rub your eyes to relieve this sensation. Also, do not attempt to drive and have somebody else drive you home. The blurred vision and haziness will clear by the next morning. You may also experience heightened sensitivity to light and may see halos around lights. The whites of your eyes may also look bloodshot for a few days. In most cases, vision improves immediately but in a few rare cases, it could take several weeks or longer.

Though you can return to work the next day, it is a good idea to take a few days off. Also refrain from strenuous activities of any sort for a week after the surgery. Take the medication prescribed by the doctor regularly and do not change the eye drops without consulting him first. Avoid using makeup or cream around the eye for up to two weeks after the surgery to minimize the risk of infection. You should also avoid using swimming pools or hot tubs for 1-2 months after the surgery.

I want to know that when I take photos only my eye ball is became red or look red. Why?
The colour seen is of The blood in the choroid behind the retina and -- the flash light passes the eyes through the pupils and strikes the fundus at the back of eye and comes out through the pupil and the camera captures the redness of the choroid blood flow and gives the red eye effect.
