She has had bypass heart surgery two and half years back. Now her bad cholesterol has gone up to 480. She is taking state 20. Now what to do.

Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, MBBS
General Physician, Delhi
Take care of diet, no medicine works unless fats are not given up in food. Continue with medicines. There are certain conditions in which high cholesterol is genetic and we have to take extra care about food. Try giving her 1) apple cider vinegar 2) fresh lemon juice + spoon of honey with a glass of warm water to be taken on empty stomach every morning 3) juice of pomegranate. These do help bring down cholesterol & blood sugar. Continue with medicines and get checked for total lipid profile after a month.

My age is 20 year and I have a problem of night fall when I do not masturbate what can I do.

BHMS
Homeopath, Sindhudurg
Exercising regularly and avoiding spicy foods can lessen the frequency of nightfall. Studies have shown that using testosteronebased drugs can increase nocturnal emissions, so try avoiding these if you suffer from nightfall. Here are a few more things that you can try to limit it. 1. Should start jogging or brisk walking for at least 30 minutes every day. 2. Should avoid consumption of any liquid for at least 2 hours before going to sleep. 3. Should go for urination just before going to bed. 4. Should avoid watching porn or erotic chats etc. 5. Start listening to soothing music which gives peace of mind and gives soothing effects like the meditation gives. 6. Should start reading good books at the time to keep the brain relaxed for a sound sleep. 7. If night fall happens then they should not worry about this, because if people keep on thinking about nightfall or have the fear of night fall at the time of sleeping then they get more chances to have the night fall again. 8. Should avoid constipation because an upset digestive system also sometimes causes night fall. 9. If the person is having the habit of taking milk at night then they should take milk in the evening instead of at night. 10. Start doing masturbation once in a while may help control night fall. 11. Kegel exercise also helps control Night Fall. Remember to talk to your doctor or you can consult me  before you start or stop your medications and never self medicate. homoepathic treatment cures it permanently without side effects.

Doctor .generally it seems that the parents who have adult children, they (these parents )remain, lie at separate places at night .But these parents are sexually active .Due to their children they can't intercourse and even fail to contact on their secret matter of intercourse .How that type of couple spend their sexual life without sex ?I think they may feel a great problem.

Dear user. I think you have mistaken. Parents of teen aged children usually sleep in a single room and child sleeps separate room. In most of the households this is happening. In some poor homes, where such separate room facility is not available, the parents may sleep away. Still they find satisfaction. Take care.

I am suffering from scabies I went to hospital but it was not curing can any body prescribe medicines for me?

MBBS, MD - Internal Medicine
Internal Medicine Specialist, Faridabad
Scabies is an itchy skin condition caused by the microscopic mite Sarcoptes scabei. It is common all over the world, and can affect anyone. Scabies spreads quickly in crowded conditions where there is frequent skin-to-skin contact between people. Hospitals, child-care centers, and nursing homes are examples. Scabies can easily infect sex partners and other household members. Sharing clothes, towels, and bedding can sometimes spread scabies. This can happen much more easily when the infested person has crusted scabies. You cannot get scabies from a pet. Pets get a different mite infection called mange. Symptoms are Pimple-like irritations or a rash Intense itching, especially at night Sores caused by scratching The infected person's clothes, bedding and towels should be washed in hot water and dried in a hot dryer. Treatment is also recommended for household members and sexual partners.Several lotions are available to treat scabies. Medicines that may be prescribed include: 5% permethrin cream: This is the most common treatment for scabies. It is safe for children as young as 1 month old and women who are pregnant.  25% benzyl benzoate lotion. 10% sulfur ointment.  10% crotamiton cream. 1% lindane lotion.

Dear Lybrate user. Phimosis is a very common problem. In most of the cases You can clear the problem yourself. Apply oil on your foreskin and on the glans. Move the foreskin forward and back slowly without hurting you much. Because the oil is lubricant, it will be easier than without oil. Do this forward and back movement 20 times several times in a day. Repeat the same every day for around one month. You will get the elasticity and you will be able to retract the foreskin completely. Take care.

General Physician,
Treatment of Summer Diarrhea

One loose motion is equal to one glass of ORS. Most summer diarrhea is watery, effortless and painless diarrhea with no mucous or blood. No antibiotic is needed. The only treatment is oral rehydration solution.

One loose motion is equivalent to loss of one glass of fluid. If a patient has passed 10 loose motions, he needs 12 glasses of ORS apart from normal requirement of fluids and one glass for every loose motion passed again.

For up to 12 loose motions, a patient can be managed as an outpatient but if the loose motions are more than 12, he needs observation and if the numbers of loose motions are more than 40, he needs intensive treatment.

The main complication is renal shut down, which will happen if the blood pressure remains low for more than few hours. During loose motions, one should maintain that he or she passes urine every 6-8 hours. If no urine is passed for eight hours it may indicate an impending renal failure.

My wife age 30 years has pcod .In year 2012 she conceives before that hsg test conducted which was normal. But unfortunately she suffers miscarriage after 3 months of pregnancy. Since then unable to conceived. Now doctor advice again HSG test which is very painful actually. Is it necessary that I undergo the test again? Pls help.

BHMS
Homeopath, Secunderabad
You can take a second opinion with another gynecologist and get clarification about your wife's present status of health. She should strive to maintain physical and mental fitness by adapting a very healthy life style. She should start exercising everyday. Yoga (including pranayam and meditation) can be very beneficial if done in a correct manner) Eat only healthy food and avoid all junk and processed food. Include more of fruits and vegetables. You can also try homeopathy which is a holistic science and addresses the problem and tries to treat at its root. A detailed history is necessary to begin homeopathic treatment. You can contact me for a personal consultation.

General Physician,
Ejaculation of semen during sexual intercourse before or immediately after penetration. Premature ejaculation occurs when a man ejaculates sooner during sexual intercourse than he or his partner would like. Premature ejaculation is a common sexual complaint. Estimates vary, but as many as 1 out of 3 men say they experience this problem at some time. As long as it happens infrequently, it's not cause for concern. The primary symptom of premature ejaculation is the inability to delay ejaculation for more than one minute after penetration. However, the problem may occur in all sexual situations, even during masturbation. Premature ejaculation can be classified as lifelong (primary) or acquired (secondary). Lifelong premature ejaculation occurs all or nearly all of the time beginning with your first sexual encounters. Acquired premature ejaculation has the same symptoms but develops after you've had previous sexual experiences without ejaculatory problems. Many men feel that they have symptoms of premature ejaculation, but the symptoms do not meet the diagnostic criteria for premature ejaculation. Instead these may have natural variable premature ejaculation, which is characterized by periods of rapid ejaculation as well as periods of normal ejaculation. Psychological causes Some doctors believe that early sexual experiences may establish a pattern that can be difficult to change later in life, such as: •Situations in which you may have hurried to reach climax in order to avoid being discovered •Guilty feelings that increase your tendency to rush through sexual encounters Other factors that can play a role in causing premature ejaculation include: •Erectile dysfunction. Men who are anxious about obtaining or maintaining an erection during sexual intercourse may form a pattern of rushing to ejaculate, which can be difficult to change. •Anxiety. Many men with premature ejaculation also have problems with anxiety — either specifically about sexual performance or related to other issues. •Relationship problems. If you have had satisfying sexual relationships with other partners in which premature ejaculation happened infrequently or not at all, it's possible that interpersonal issues between you and your current partner are contributing to the problem. Biological causes A number of biological factors may contribute to premature ejaculation, including: •Abnormal hormone levels •Abnormal levels of brain chemicals called neurotransmitters •Abnormal reflex activity of the ejaculatory system •Certain thyroid problems •Inflammation and infection of the prostate or urethra •Inherited traits •Nerve damage from surgery or trauma (rare) Common treatment options for premature ejaculation include behavioural techniques, topical anaesthetics, oral medications and counselling. Keep in mind that it may take a little time to find the treatment or combination of treatments that will work for you. Behavioural techniques In some cases, therapy for premature ejaculation may involve taking simple steps, such as masturbating an hour or two before intercourse so that you're able to delay ejaculation during sex. You may try avoiding intercourse for a period of time and focusing on other types of sexual play so that pressure is removed from your sexual encounters. You can also try diverting your mind before ejaculation is ready to come and proceeding after a brief break, thereby prolonging duration of intercourse / action The pause-squeeze technique You and your partner can use of a method called the pause-squeeze technique. This method works as follows: 1.Begin sexual activity as usual, including stimulation of the penis, until you feel almost ready to ejaculate. 2.Have your partner squeeze the end of your penis, at the point where the head (glans) joins the shaft, and maintain the squeeze for several seconds, until the urge to ejaculate passes. 3.After the squeeze is released, wait for about 30 seconds, then go back to foreplay. You may notice that squeezing the penis causes it to become less erect, but when sexual stimulation is resumed, it soon regains full erection. 4.If you again feel you're about to ejaculate, have your partner repeat the squeeze process. By repeating this as many times as necessary, you can reach the point of entering your partner without ejaculating. After a few practice sessions, the feeling of knowing how to delay ejaculation may become a habit that no longer requires the pause-squeeze technique. Topical anaesthetics Anaesthetic creams and sprays that contain a numbing agent, such as lidocaine or procaine, are sometimes used to treat premature ejaculation. These products are applied to the penis a short time before sex to reduce sensation and thus help delay ejaculation. A lidocaine spray for premature ejaculation is available Although topical anaesthetic agents are effective and well-tolerated, they have potential side effects. For example, some men report temporary loss of sensitivity and decreased sexual pleasure. In some cases, female partners also have reported these effects. In rare cases, lidocaine or procaine can cause an allergic reaction. Oral medications Many medications may delay orgasm. Although none of these drugs is specifically worthwhile as people believe, approved medications may be prescribed for either on-demand or daily use, and may be prescribed alone or in combination with other treatments to treat premature ejaculation, some are used for this purpose, including antidepressants, analgesics and phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors You can ask me personally if you want these tablets with your full health d.
