Dear sir What is the difference between bypass surgery nd stent placement in heart?

Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, MBBS

Dear sir
What is the difference between bypass surgery nd stent placement in heart?
Sent is also called baloon intervention, it's not a surgery in the real sense, a device is passed through a major blood vessel of body and blockages in blood vessels giving blood to heart are cleared, in bypass surgery, blood vessels are taken from legs or arms are grafted and connected to major blood vessels supplying blood to entire body bypass rout is created for blood to flow smoothly to entire body and yes it is a major surgery but with advanced technology, there is nothing to fear by both procedures.

Dear lybrate user, digestive problem always leads to sexual disturbance. First of all you need to get rid of your acidity. Dear lybrate user, you need to take homoeopathic carbo veg 200, 5 drops, thrice daily, in empty stomach. You can also try homoeopathic liver tonic liv-t (sbl company). Take 20 ml of the aforesaid liver tonic, thrice daily, after meals. Try to drink as much water as you can drink daily. Try to get an uninterrupted sleep of minimum 8 hours.

your pain is in chest area. That doesn't mean it is concerned with heart or lung. I think your complaint is due to stress. Find out what is causing you to worry. Introspection will resolve problem.

For backache -\ get a mri done to pin point the cause and site of pain. Meanwhile go for ayurveda's panchkarma therapy - we have many option for you - kati basti (specialised panchakarma procedure for backpains), localised massgae with herbal oils, localised medicated steam, pottali massage. Continue these procedures for atleast 15 days. Regular oiling of the joint will improve the lubrication also. These procedures will relax your back muscles and give strength to your nerves and muscles of back. Also start some yogic exercises - tadasana, dhanurasan, halasana along with these therapies. This will greatly help. Please avoid pushing / pulling heavy objects, long sittings, long two-wheeler drives. Although some herbal medicines might also help you but after proper history taking. For that you may consult me privately over lybrate. Please update with your valuable feedback after 15 days.\

Silent Heart Attack - Can It be Prevented From Happening?

MBBS Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, MD, DM - Cardiology
Cardiologist, Mumbai
Silent Heart Attack - Can It be Prevented From Happening?

A heart attack does not always have obvious symptoms, such as pain in your chest, shortness of breath and cold sweats. In fact, a heart attack can actually happen without a person knowing it. This condition is known as a ‘silent heart attack’, medically known as ‘silent ischemia’, occurring due to the shortage of oxygen supply to the heart muscle. The risk factors of a silent heart attack are similar to that of a heart attack.

They include-

  1. Conditions like:
  2. Lack of exercise
  3. Age, usually above 65
  4. Consumption of tobacco or smoking
  5. High consumption of alcohol

A silent cardiac arrest makes one more vulnerable to another heart attack that could be fatal. Diagnosis: The only method to diagnose if you had a silent heart attack is through imaging tests, such as echocardiogram, electrocardiogram, Holter Monitoring or others. These tests can show certain changes which might be indicative of a heart attack. An analysis of one’s overall health and the symptoms can aid in deciding whether few more tests are required.

How would you prevent a silent heart attack?
1.    Get your cholesterol and blood pressure count tested regularly.
2.    Refrain from smoking.
3.    Live a healthy lifestyle: Refrain from smoking and excessive alcohol consumption; exercise daily, eat healthy.
4.    Control high blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes
5.    Be aware of your body and call on a doctor if you feel there’s anything which is bothering you.

In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

In ayurveda, Hypertension is referred to as Rakta Capa Vriddhi and it sees the vitiation of vata and pitta doshas as the main cause. Mix 1 teaspoon of onion juice with an equal amount of honey. Take once a day for 1 week. Upon noticing improvement, continue for several more days. Take sarpgandha vati twice a day. Yogendra ras. Akik bhasm works very good in case of hypertension. Avoid salty diet. Oily food. Lower your stress. Do pranayama early morning.
