Mr Dhirendra, If your blood sugar is well controlled then there is no need to chenge treatment. Good control means fasting close to 100 mg and PP between 150 to 160 mg and HbA1c%<7.. If this achieved then there is no reason to change.

Every one of us has to eat all kinds of foods, but for diabetic patients a few restrictions are like - avoid sweets, direct sugar, deep fried foods, fruits like mango, banana, chikkoo, grapes. Foods to be taken include whole grain flour breads, millets, green vegetables, salads, curd, sprouted beans, clear soups, dilute butter milk, skimmed milk etc.

Dear Lybrateuser, cough is usually a sign of blockage / irritation of Wind Pipe / Respiratory Tubes (Bronchioles). Please consult a Pulmonologist to diagnose the cause of chronic cough & get a PFT Test done to diagnose the disease. My father is having age 74 years. His blood pressure is not normal. Couple of days back his blood pressure reading was 171/93. At present he is taking ramistar H 5 mg daily once. What kind of medication you want to recommend?

MD, Fellowship in Intergrative Medicine, MBBS
Integrated Medicine Specialist, Kochi
Change lifestyle and diet cut down salt and oil stop all dairy products Eat plant based diet Cut down animal protein Exercise daily Sleep 8 hours Read up about the side effects of your current medicines. Take specific advise from me with a consult and I can most probably reverse your fathers bp without medicine.
