Hello! My son is 5 years old, he was very healthy at his early ages, but now he is becoming very thin. He is suffering from adenoids problem, due to which there is recurrence of cold and cough. Some time he tells pain in his leg also, after playing outdoor games. He is used to ask sweets 10-15 minutes. Please guide me his diet plans, so that I can manage proper nutrition in his food.

It's true that some children are more prone to cough and cold and it's allergy what we call as perineal rhinitis but it is not infectious. In most of cases it goes off by 10 years age. Please donor use antibiotic commonly as it have no role in treatment.

Don't do force feeding. Start semi solids with one item like dal, khichadi, suji kheer etc what ever amount she takes that shall develop her taste too. Additional top milk with spoon (no bottle). Suji kheer is as good as cerelac. Her weight is with normal range.

Mother's dengue is not related to child's ill health. You have not mentioned the age of the child. Children less than 5 years usually have less immunity and some children fall sick frequently. Dengue most of the time is a mild illness. Rarely it goes for complications.

No, not at all. If your child is normal now, he will be normal forever. Very rarely some preterm babies will have developmental problems which can be detected early.

Exam Fear - Exam Phobia - Tips

Exam Fear - Exam Phobia - Tips
Exam fear or exam phobia or exam anxiety is a performance anxiety. Examinations are almost always stressful. Students rarely know exactly what to expect on the test, and those who suffer from exam fear or exam anxiety can see their grades suffer as a result of this stress. A little anxiety can actually help your performance, but some students become so overwhelmed that they" seize up" and forget what they have studied. Exam anxiety can strike before, during and after a test. Battling this type of performance anxiety can be difficult, but good study habits and learning how to relax can help.

Step 1
Develop good study habits. Proper study habits and preparation are the keys to cutting out exam fear

Step 2
Keep your mind and body healthy by getting enough sleep, eating well and exercising.

Step 3
Meet with your instructor to aid in focusing your study sessions.

Step 4
Practice positive self-talk as you prepare for the test. Create a mantra to help you calm your test anxiety. Repeat a phrase, such as" I just need to do my best" or" I will be prepared for this test"

Step 5
Relax the night before your test. A last-minute review can help you remember facts, but fretting over last-minute studying is likely to cause you more anxiety.

Step 6
Beat the morning rush by waking up early. Give yourself time to eat a nutritious breakfast that won't weigh you down or feel greasy in your stomach.

Step 7
Manage your anxiety with relaxation exercises as you wait for the test to start.

Step 8
Scan the test to find questions that are easy. Answer those test questions to give yourself a confidence boost.

Step 9
Understand that you are not alone and ask for help as necessary. Exam fear is normal.

Step 10
Reward yourself after the test is over. The reward gives you the break you deserve after all of your studying. Treating yourself also helps you stop thinking about the test and analyzing every little mistake you may have made.

Please consult a psychologist for counseling and valuable tips.

My baby is 2 and half month old. He is losing hair. I afraid what I do. Which oil best for infant hair?

DNB (Pediatrics), MBBS

My baby is 2 and half month old. He is losing hair. I afraid what I do. Which oil best for infant hair?
Hi, thanks for contacting us. Losing hair is not necessarily abnormal at this age. Many infants will become almost bald before they grow the hair back. However, you need to check for any scalp problems like redness, dandruff itching etc. If this is present, or the hair loss is only in a small part of the scalp, then you need to contact your pediatrician, or get back to us, warm regards.

Sir my baby is 4 month old uskay neck pay kuch white little balls niklay plesae what is the reason ?

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
Balls? or white patch? where exactly? if they are movable. They could be lymphnodes. But in 4 month old there is no chance unless he has some infection in the throat or on the skin. You need to give more details. Come to private consultation with all details.

My sons age is 7 month +. My question is that how much water should I give him in a day?

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
If he is breastfed only he does not need additional water, but he is on other feeds by now. From 6 to 12 months, babies do not need much water but introducing some in a bottle or sippy cup can help them get used to the taste (or lack thereof) and consistency of the liquid. Limiting water to about 2 to 4 ounces per day is the typical recommendation as babies make the transition from an all-liquid diet to one involving solids, although some babies may benefit from closer to 6 to 8 ounces per day (such as in the case of constipation or extremely hot and humid weather). For regular advice on child rearing ask me privately.

Hello doctors, please tell me can I give after noon cooked rice by 7: 00 pm to my 9 months baby?
Hello Lybrate user. It should be cooked immediately to eat. If it is cooked late will carry high rate of fermentation causing gastric disorder with cold effect, moreover, you may give rice in the evening, provided your child is not susceptible to catch cold, frquently and she is not troubled much with gastric disorder. It, should be in all respect fresh -cooked & slightly warm before to consume. Tk care.
