Deàr lybrate-user young people like you should not have back pain but maybe your posture is bad and sitting for long hours can cause pressure symptoms and your disc is vulnerable. Apply ice for 20 minutes every hourly and take some rest and have breaks every half an hour. You should take on some fitness program to prevent further damage.

Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

I am a 20 year old female and I had been having pain in my knees and lower leg for months now. The pain comes and goes, and sometimes it is strong enough to affect my daily life. I drink adequate amount of water and I also started taking calcium supplements since 3-4 months now. I also walk at least 2-3 miles every day. Massaging eases the pain only for a very short time. Please suggest me something.

Pain in Knee and below at this young age can be due to various reasons such as Overweight/Obesity, recent or old injury to meniscus, ligaments, joint Biomechanical Misalignment, for which you need to go through detailed evaluation and examination by a Competent Physiotherapist. Pain at calf can also be due to deficient in Iron, ferrtin, haemoglobin, Vit E, tortuous veins (Varicose vein ), Myofascial trigger points at Gastrocnemius Soleus muscle, Lumbosacral Misalignment causing nerve pressure going down the knee. So, a Proper Assessment is MUST. Secondly, Ostocalcium sometimes may not be sufficient if your deficient in Vitamin D3, Magnesium, Vit K2. These three nutrients are the essential and most vital and key factor for healthy bones/muscles/nerves. So going for a 25 (OH) Vit D3 level test would be needed too for proper dosage of Vit D3 along with Magnesium and Vit K2. Feel free to connect for detailed information. Stay Healthy. Thanks.

Kindly wean off pregabalin. Kindly show me a photograph & digital x rays of affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Bio d3 max 1tab od x10. Paracetamol 250mg sos do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Hello Jack, Stress, tension, anxiety, thyroid problems, hormonal imbalances etc are the most common reasons for insomnia. If you are having back and neck problems while sleeping, even that can cause discomfort leading to inability to sleep. You can try changing your mattress or pillow. Try using a hard mattress as it is helpful if you have spondylosis of any sort. Besides, you can take Tablet Atarax 10 mg, one tablet at bed time. This is a very mild sedative and will help you sleep better.
