Hai ! I am 50 yrs old (male) and suffering with both knee pains for the last 10 years , I have approached orthopedician and also taken X-rays of both knees , finally, they told me that, my both knees cortilege is getting lost and suggested to go for knee replacement surgery till unable to walk. I have some problem with my leg in my left leg near the knee I have some pain and I don' t know why it' s happen like this. And knee cap also came some out means inside of skin while walking I have some pain. I am just 20 years man tell me what I have to do?

Start with physiotherapy sessions and learn exercise for knee joint. Wear knee cap open patella also. Don' t sit on floors. Take calcium and methylcobalamine supplement with glucosamine for three months.

Applying cold compresses to the painful knee is one of the best and easiest ways to reduce pain and swelling. The cold will constrict the blood vessels, reducing blood flow to the affected area and thus reducing swelling. It will also give you relief from the pain. 1. Wrap a handful of ice cubes in a thin towel. 2. Apply the compress to the affected knee area for 10 to 20 minutes. 3. Do this two or three time daily until your pain is gone. A bag of frozen peas also works well as a cold compress. You can opt for alternating hot and cold compresses as well for chronic pains.

Hi Doc, I m a 35years old male without a job, married and have 3 kids. I am very much worried with my weight. My height is 5feet 9inches and I weigh approximately 120kgs. I have gone thru the material ober tje internet flowing like flood but tjey all say me to either jog or run on treadmill about an hour or so. I can not really jog or run or neither walk briskly (due to excess weight I suppose). I am happy to walk slowly and gradually increase the speed of my steps. So, here comes the question how can I steadily reduce my weight and melt this excess fat on my body? Would you recommend any plan of action for me to achieve my target goal of 85kgs or less than 90kgs at least? Would you also let me know to follow any home remedies? I know about honey lemon and luke warm water. Apart from that if any wud you recommend me to get thru this tough time that will be really helpful and appreciable. Anticipate a quicker reply as I can not weight to lose weight. Note: I have a knee joint pain at the moment so can not run or jogg. I understand you must be suffering from severe pain. Knee joint is very complex joint made by 3 bones - femur, tibia, fibula and knee cap - patella. Several ligaments, cartilage and menisci are covered all around. So pain in knee joint may be due to several reasons and sometimes it is very severe. It may be due to some internal injury like cartilage etc or may be due to deficiency of calcium, vit d or uric acid. So in general I would advise you to please go for proper investigation so that the reason can be diagnosed. In the mean time to get relief from pain and stiffness please follow the physio measures: precautions- 1. Avoid prolong standing. Standing on one leg or running for time being if its painful. 2. Take care while bending your knees, it should not directly strain your joint. 3. Avoid heavy weight lifting. 4. Wear shoes with good arch support, do not wear high -healed shoes. 5. Use the correct positions during activities so that you do not strain your muscles. 6. Try to change your sitting position every 15 min so that it should not give strain on your knees. 7. Avoid sitting on floor with both knees bending. 8. Take diet rich in calcium like milk, dairy products, banana etc which will enhance your calcium and gives you strength. Treatment - 1. Use of cold or hot packs which ever suits you - apply ice or hot pack to the painful area and massage for near about 10 minutes. Make a habit for doing atleast twice a day initially. 2. After this using your thumb massage your knee area gently. 3. Do some knee (quads) isometrics atleast 10-15 times with the hold of 5 -10 seconds. Also you can do some knee strengthening in the mean time. The above treatment will give pain relief and discomfort. In the meantime please contact any physio who will study your daily routine, symptoms, degree of pain etc and accordingly will give you the best treatment plan. Good luck and get well soon.

Knee pain is a common complaint that affects people of all ages. Knee pain may be the result of an injury or some other medical conditions including arthritis, patellar tendinitis, acl injury, knee bursitis, torn meniscus, gout and infections. Try some home remedies for your pain- - ice is useful for the control of pain and swelling. It can be applied to the knee for 15 to 20 minutes as often as every two to four hours. The swollen knee should be elevated above the level of the heart while icing. -activities that cause pain should be avoided temporarily. -if the knee is swollen or sore, the following positions and activities should be avoided until knee pain and swelling resolve: squatting kneeling twisting and pivoting jogging aerobics, dancing playing sport specific exercises will help you improve range of motion, strength, and endurance. It is especially important to focus on strengthening and stretching your quadriceps since these muscles are the main stabilizers of your kneecap. Core exercises may also be recommended to strengthen the muscles in your abdomen and lower back. Also maintaining a healthy body weight to avoid overstressing your knees are very important. -a full history of your problem should be taken and your movements assessed by a physiotherapist. Use ice pack. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold). Ankle stretch calves get a custom made insole. Hams stretching. Sports taping. Hot fomentation.

Do take ift and vacuum therapy physiotherapy treatment for 12 days followed by strengthening exercise from neuro physiotherapist and take calcium rich foods

Hi i Am 42+. Suffering from right knee pain for past one week to such an extent that am limping. There is also a small swelling on the right side of my knee. Am taking homeopathic medicine and pain killers also applying joint pain relief oil. But still pain is persisting with some amount of stiffness in this knee. Please suggest what should I do. Can you recall any initiating factor for this pain like any twisting injury etc? apart from swelling, is there any associated warmth, skin redness etc? are you having any fever or any associated complaints you would like to mention? you can do some intensive ice packs, use crepe bandage for compression analgesic as per your body' s suitability for 2-3 days limb elevation over pillows for 3-4 days if your pain or swelling increase, then we will have to investigate you further in form of x rays and investigations do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.
