Hello, my face colour is dull you can say it is dark from my body colour. What should I do for whitening and glowing face.

M. sc Psychology, BHMS
Homeopath, Hyderabad
If in general you used to be fair, n nowadays, only your face getting darker, its definitely due to tanning. If its in that case, you should have to take care of yourself by avoiding exposure from sun, by covering with any scarf, using helmet{if you r a 2wheeler rider}, r use umbrella wherever you go. Always apply sunscreen lotion before going out, n wash your face n hands with any mild gentle soap, after coming back to home. Try to apply kheera{cucumber paste r milk cream with almond, r pudheena with lemon juice, tomato juice application also helps in reducing the darkness. I. E, tanning. Rise up taking raw veg, fruit juices r as a whole, daily.

I have dark spot in my face what should I do and also my face look dark how to light it.

I have dark spot in my face what should I do and also my face look dark how to light it.
Hello, If those are acne marks, follow the below points: Wash your face with Bakson's Facewash (wash your face with warm water only) and followed by CTMP, i.e., cleansing, toning, moisturising and protection (apply liberally Sunscreen Gel with SPF-30) after washing your face daily. Home-made remedies: - Take 1 tbsp of fuller's earth (multani mitti) + a dash of lime + bit of rosewater – apply this on your face till it gets dried up, then rinse it off. - Take 1 tsp of Alum (or fitkari), make it slightly wet with water and apply this on your wet face, spread it well; let it dry and rinse it off. Alum remove your excessive moisture or oil and it also tightens the skin's tonicity. Medication: You can take homoeopathic medicines – Berberis Aquefolium Q/ 10 drops in 1/2 cup of water/ thrice a day (and for local application as well) and Kali Brom. 200/ thrice a day – for 20 days. Use Bakson's Apricot scrub at least once a week.

I have in-large prostate since last 10 years and taking one Alfatam-D tablet regularly since then. Controlling urination sometimes becomes very difficult when pressure built up. I become restless. Why is this so? Please advise. Anand Kumar.

Dear, enlarged prostate causes the bladder muscles to work harder to push urine out. Over a long period of time, this leads to thickened bladder wall and overactivity of bladder muscle. Once overactive bladder develops, it can act spontaneously without our voluntary control. This is the common reason for not able to control urine in prostate enlargement. Other reasons are bladder stone or infection. Please get an ultrasound abdomen with post-void residual urine. Based on prostate size, bladder wall, residual urine, serum psa and urine routine examination findings, a urologist will be able to treat you better. If you do not have much residual urine, infection or stone, then you can be started on drugs to relax bladder (anti-cholinergics). This will help you with improving the control of urination.

1.A hot oil massage adds an extra layer of moisturization to the sensitive skin of the baby and ensures proper maintenance of oils in the skin. With regular hot oil massage, your baby’s skin will glow, blossom and take on a mild pinkish tint. This is unlikely to happen if your baby’s skin is dry and tends to peel. So, make sure to give your baby the leisure of a perfect hot oil massage each day.2.Dryness can induce dullness and darkness in your baby’s skin. So, pamper your little angel with the lukewarm water bath. Unregulated water temperature spruces out life from the delicate skin of the baby.3.Make a paste of sandalwood, turmeric, saffron and milk and apply it on your baby’s body. Leave it to dry for 10 minutes. This will make your child fairer and will also protect him/her against skin infections.4.Never use soap on your baby’s skin. Soap might peel out the skin, making it dull, dry, and dark. Instead use milk and rosewater. You can use glycerin baby bars and milk cream-rich toddler’s wash.

Solar Urticaria - How It Can Be Treated?

MBBS, Diploma In Dermatology And Venerology And Leprosy (DDVL), Diploma in Venerology & Dermatology (DVD)
Dermatologist, Nanded
Solar Urticaria - How It Can Be Treated?

Allergic reactions to peanuts and shellfish are common, but some people can even be allergic to sunlight or artificial light. This condition is known as solar urticaria and is a very rare condition. This is a complex disorder that is caused mainly by exposure to UV radiation. Solar uriticaria causes the release of histamines on exposure to sunlight that opens up blood vessels and leads to the collection of fluid under the skin. It can develop instantly or after prolonged exposure and can be seen in the form of red, inflamed patches of skin that feel itchy. This is change is not permanent and usually resolves itself when the source of light is removed. If a large area of the skin is affected, it can cause nausea and light headedness.

Minimizing sun exposure is one of the most important parts of treating this condition. Thus patients are often advised to stay indoors between 11am and 3pm. If exposure to sunlight cannot be avoided, protective clothing such as long sleeved tops, trousers and a wide brimmed hat should be worn. Using a broad spectrum sunscreen that offers protection from both UVA and UVB rays should also be used.

In cases where skin change is not instantaneous, antihistamines can be used as a form of treatment. This blocks the immune response and minimizes pruritus. However, it does not completely eliminate the condition. Medicines that suppress the immune system may also be prescribed. If you wish to discuss any specific problem, you can consult a dermatologist.
