My cat gave birth 4 times in last year, so I want to know that is there any non surgical procedure for controlling the birth cycle.

Non surgical method include administration of progestrone but that will cause hypertrophy of endometrium so if you planning go fr surgical method only.

Please suggest me. Should dogs be given a haircut in summers always? I have been very concerned about this topic. Please suggest me.

MVSc, BVSc
Veterinarian, Secunderabad
Hi, haircut in summer is not compulsory, if the hair become not manageable then haircut compulsory, but brushing / combing is must to avoid tangles/ ticks / flees/ lice infestation.

I have 3 puppies. They used to play together. They drink water in same bowl. They bite each other while playing. My one puppy died due to rabies. Should my other two puppies have gotten rabies from him?

MBBS

Rabies is an infectious disease and vaccination needs to be given to all the puppies and house family members and you will have to inform the municipal authorities

Doctor, i have a couple of pomerians, they are 12 years old now. Maggi (male) and Noodles (female) respectively. The female one has now got problems with her diets, she is not eating properly and vomits whatever she had. Please help

MVSc, BVSc
Veterinarian,
Hi. Is the female neutered? has she been coming in cycles regularly? wise to get a blood work done to rule out kidney or liver disease, as your pets are old. Meanwhile you can give digene gel with vanilla ice cream to curb vomiting. Take care.

My cat just laid two kittens two weeks ago. When should we take her for spaying? She is two years old. This her second delivery.

MVSc (Ph.D pursuing)
Veterinarian, Hyderabad
Hello, Usually cats come into heat sooner than dogs. You can wait untill your cat is feeding milk to the kitten which usually goes like for 35- 42 days. This will hel kitten to get sufficient motherz milk. And then sperate the kitten from mom. This will help drying of the uterus of the mother. Wait for another 10 days. N get her operated (spayed) on the 11th day.

I equally love both my cats. But the elder one is jealous of little one. How should I treat her so that she would stay happily with little one? My cat is always ready to initiate a fight with the other one? Please help me to understand her psychology??

Master of sciences, B.V.Sc. & A.H.
Veterinarian, Salem
Never pat or play with the little one when the elder is around. First give important to elder one and by the side also ask the little one to be with you also slowly develop the rapoo with them. By this way you can surely break the jealous between them.

I have a dog he is too moody about food. What should I do to balance his proper diet?

M.V.Sc (Surgery)
Veterinarian, Mohali
You should keep your dog on particular feed according to his age. Don't give treats in between esp. Our biscuits, just because he is not eating. Follow this routine for 15 days. Proper discipline is required to change behavior.

I have a female dog. She is 12 years old .now color of her teeth is changing. Tartar built on her teeth .I just wanted to know how to take care of her teeth?

Diploma in Diabetology, Pregnancy & Diabetes, Hypertension, Cardiovascular Prevention in Diabetes ,Thyroid

It can leadto gum cavities and disease. Better consult some vetenary doctor so that you dog may not get teeth damage. Certain pyrophosphates help to decrease new crystals of tartar from forming.
