It's not related to loose motions. Some children become unconscious and bluish after a bout of excessive crying. It's called as breath holding spell. It's a sort of psychological problem. Show to a good doctor.

Hello, ●New born baby is unable to distinguish between night & daytime. Hence, after few week, you have to educate the baby the difference between  day & night in order to establish sound sleep in the night. ●When its day, the baby should be brought in sun light to recognise the day time and similarly in night the baby should be kept in a dim. Light to recognise eving or night time. Her day should be brighter and the night be darker. ●This has to be ensured  that child is adequetly ,fed before going to bed & continued feeding 2 hrly. ●Some time the baby suffers from abdominal pain, earache, headache due to change in climate, cause her weep. ●  usually, we fail to assess the room- temprature being suitable for the baby to make her sleep, comfortably.Ac should be tuned & fan should be adjusted as per the need be. ● in the night while feeding the baby of your own  baby asleeps without taking sufficient quty of milk, makes her weep, again and again during sleep, please keep checking the fact & adjusted as the condition warants. Homoeopathically,  your baby might be nurtured, successfully. Your feedback is solicited to followup your baby. The care.

Apparently she has no hearing loss. But the OAE test detects the loss of hearing to serai frequencies and may repoat it at a later stage he 4 types of otoacoustic emissions are as follows: Spontaneous otoacoustic emissions (SOAEs) - Sounds emitted without an acoustic stimulus (ie, spontaneously) Transient otoacoustic emissions (TOAEs) or transient evoked otoacoustic emissions (TEOAEs) - Sounds emitted in response to an acoustic stimuli of very short duration; usually clicks but can be tone-bursts Distortion product otoacoustic emissions (DPOAEs) - Sounds emitted in response to 2 simultaneous tones of different frequencies Sustained-frequency otoacoustic emissions (SFOAEs) - Sounds emitted in response to a continuous tone. Pure-tone (PT) audiometry measures throughout the outer ear, middle ear, cochlea, cranial nerve (CN) VIII, and central auditory system. However, OAEs measure only the peripheral auditory system, which includes the outer ear, middle ear, and cochlea. The response only emanates from the cochlea, but the outer and middle ear must be able to transmit the emitted sound back to the recording microphone. OAE testing often is used as a screening tool to determine the presence or absence of cochlear function, although analysis can be performed for individual cochlear frequency regions. OAEs cannot be used to fully describe an individual's auditory thresholds, but they can help question or validate other threshold measures (eg, in suspected functional [feigned] hearing loss), or they can provide information about the site of the lesion. Using current technology, most researchers and clinicians find a correlation between frequency-specific analysis of TOAEs/DPOAEs and cochlear hearing loss. However, at this juncture, the correlation cannot fully describe auditory threshold. Naturally, a correlation would not be expected for noncochlear hearing loss.

Even if he is not consuming milk if he is taking vegetables rich in calcium like cabbage, broccoli etc it's enough. Boost can be added to milk if he likes. You can also give calcium tablets.

Hello, Homoeopathy is the best and safest option for all the age group including newborn babies! So, give her Schwabe’s Alpha-CF, Alpha-NC and Biocombination-11, all of them after every 2 hourly for 4 days (mix 2 tablets in a sterilised bowl with your milk and then give to your baby). Use Bakson's Nasal-Aid spray/ 1-2 sprays after every 4 hours. Management: - Avoid cold drinks and fried food, take healthy food. -Avoid exposure to Air-conditioner or cold air (wrap a warm stole or muffler around neck). -Avoid excessive or rough use of your voice/ shouting. -Gargle with warm water and salt 3 times a day and take steam-inhalation once before going to bed. -Take enough sleep and rest.

Insist for home made food 3 times a day. Explain her importance of food in simple words with examples. Do not accept any undue demands for junk food. Formula food like pediasure will not help her. Having meals together is a good idea.

The poor appetite of their kids is a common complaint among mothers. In most of the cases, kids make up for their poor diet by eating more at the next meal. For kids over 1 year old, appetites increase and decrease according to age, energy levels etc. This is a common problem among young children between the ages of 2 to 6 years. However, if weight loss accompanies your toddler loss of appetite, then you must consult a pediatrician to identify the cause & correct it. Causes of Loss of Appetite In Children: Here are 10 main reasons for toddler no appetite: 1. Slow Growth Rate: Changes in growth can cause an appetite slump in children. During the first year, children grow rapidly. But after the first birthday the growth of the child slows down, and she may eat less food now. During this time, a decline in appetite is perfectly normal. 2. Sickness: Illness can often cause a significant loss of appetite in children. If your child is suffering from sore throat, stomach flu, diarrhea, headache, fever or other symptoms, then she may eat lesser than what she normally eats. Thankfully, most of the children recover their appetite when they get better. 3. Stress: Stress can have many negative effects on toddlers and young children, including loss of appetite. If you find your child is losing interest in eating or having a hard time sleeping, then. To cure the poor appetite of your kid, you need to identify the cause of her stress and alleviate it. Some common causes of stress during childhood are: •Family issues like a death in the family, death of a pet or the birth of a sibling. •Bullying •Inability to cope with academic pressure and the impractical expectations of parents. 4. Depression: Depression can be another reason for child loss of appetite. Most of the parents mistake depression for sadness. But sadness and depression are not the same. It is important for you to understand the difference between sadness and depression so that your child can get the help she needs. Feelings of sadness go away with the passage of time, but depression does not. Depression not only makes the child sad, but also interferes with her normal life. If your child shows a lack of interest in activities that she previously enjoyed performing, then chances are that she may be suffering from depression. A change in eating habits is a strong indicator of depression. You may need to seek medical care to help your child come out of depression. 5. Anorexia Nervosa: Sometimes, in a bid to ape their screen idols children develop a psychological aversion to eating. They try to go without eating as long as possible. Even when they eat, they choose a low-fat food and later feel guilty about eating it. If you can relate your child to this food fad, she may be suffering from Anorexia Nervosa. You must take her to an eating disorder specialist. The specialist will tell you how to help your child regain a healthy appetite (1). 6. Medications: Several medications can take a toll on your child’s appetite. If the pediatrician prescribed antibiotics for your child recently, chances are she may be suffering from a poor appetite. A loss of appetite in a child is a common side effect of antibiotics (2). 7. Anemia: Anemia is another possible cause of the decline in appetite among children. A low iron count is common in kids who don’t consume an iron-rich diet. Children suffering from anemia seem weaker, tired and irritable than others. If left untreated, anemia can interfere with your child’s development and school performance. Get a blood test done if you suspect anemia in your child. 8. Intestinal Worms: Intestinal worms can cause loss of appetite in kids. Worms enter into the kid’s digestive system and live there like a parasite, causing intestinal bleeding, loss of appetite, dysentery, etc. 9. Constipation: Irregular bowel movements in children can lead to constipation. Tips To Prevent A Loss Of Appetite In Children: Here are some handy tips to prevent a loss of appetite in children: Offer food that is also a visual treat for your kids. You can present healthy foods in a delicious avatar. •Do not argue or scold the children during the mealtime. •Adjust the meal schedules so that you serve food only when your child is hungry. •Encourage your child to make healthy food choices. •Allow your child to snack between the meals. •Serve small portions at regular intervals. •Encourage your child to be more physically active. •Do not force your child to eat if she is not hungry. As a parent, demanding that she finishes the food on her plate is a bad idea. Remember, it is common for children to lose their appetite, so don’t be alarmed every time it happens. If your child is healthy, happy and can sleep well, then there is no need to worry. But a prolonged loss of appetite needs medical attention. So keep an eye on your child’s eating habits.

Dear lybrate-user, usually there are periods when children don't eat as much as they used to eat previously. These could be because of childhood illnesses. The only red flag is the word'sudden' if it is sudden, there should be a reason for it which needs to be evaluated. Please see a paediatrician.

Your child is grossely malnourished so prone to recurrent infections. Anyway sponge wholebody with tap water for 30 minutes & give him liquid paracetamol for immediate relief. Later on improve diet, add butter, egg & feed him more frequently.

Hello thanks for the query the growth and development of a baby suffering from hydrocephalus depends on the severity of involvement of brain. If the cortical thickness is very less and there is severe ventricular dilatation the outcome is poor. Please attach the report so that I better able to help you out. I hope she must has undergone hearing and visual assessment as there is high chance of hearing and visual impairment in such condition. Physical rehabilitation helps in recovery. Regards.
