Hello lybrate-user drink plenty of water avoid the following: junk food/fast food milk products chocolates ice cream avoid picking or squeezing your pimples, they'll leave behind pigmentation and scaring. For pimples here is your treatment plan: 1. Clindapene gel night time only 2. Benzac gel 2.5% morning only 3. Tab. Doxy 100mg twice daily after food 4. Tab. Rantac 150mg twice daily before food 5. Use acnoff soap / acnil soap to wash your face before applying the gels. Both the gels have to be applied over full face. All medicines for minimum 1 month take care.

Hair is important part of the body as it built self confidence of the person. There are various reasons for hair fall. Any acute illness like viral infections, malaria, typhoid can also cause it. It can happen in long term disorders like diabetes, high bp, arthritis medicines taken for all these disorders can also trigger the hair fall. It is very important to understand the problem and diagnose it by some diagnostic tool. Hair testing by trichogram will help us to understand the condition of his hair and even condition of growth and fall ratio. Apart from that, capilloscope will help us to know thickness of hair and density of overall scalp. Timely treatment will help us to prevent further loss and even balding. Ask him to eat food which is rich in proteins, minerals and iron. Ask him to use jaborandi hair oil 3/week and wash it 3/week. Consult trichologist.

Hello, it seems you are having allergy symptoms in your eye. This might be increasing after bath due to irritation of already sensitised eye tissues by hard water or soap. Make sure that no soap foam enters your eye while washing your face, also avoid splashing supply water in your eyes. Applying ice to the eyes is a good thing you are doing, this is infact suggested to sooth itchy eyes. Additionally always wash your eyes with clean drinking water whenever you come home from outside. If the symptoms persist try using an antihistamine eye drop.

5 Types Of Psoriasis And Its Homeopathic Treatment!

5 Types Of Psoriasis And Its Homeopathic Treatment!

Psoriasis is a common skin disease characterized by thickened patches of inflamed, red skin covered with thick, silvery scales. The elbows and knees are the most common areas affected by psoriasis. It will often appear in the same place on both sides of the body. The patches can range in size from smaller than a dime to larger than a hand.

Description of Psoriasis-

Normally, skin cells mature and shed after about a month. In psoriasis, the cell maturation speeds up, taking only three to four days. Because the lower layer of skin cells divide more rapidly than normal, dead cells accumulate in thicker patches on the skin's outermost layer called the 'Epidermis'.

Forms & Classifications-

Psoriasis occurs in a variety of forms that differ in their intensity, duration, location, shape and pattern of scales. The most common forms are:

  1. Plaque Psoriasis: Plaque psoriasis is the most common form of psoriasis. It is characterized by raised, inflamed, red lesions covered with a silvery-white buildup of dead skin cells (scales). This is found primarily on the Body, elbows, knees, scalp and finger or toe nails.
  2. Guttate Psoriasis: Guttate psoriasis occurs most frequently in children and is characterized by numerous small, red, drop-like scaly macules that develop rapidly over a wide area of skin. This may appear following an infection, most frequently strep throat
  3. Inverse Psoriasis: Inverse psoriasis occurs in the armpit, under the breast, in skin folds, around the groin, in the cleft between the buttocks and around the genitals. It is usually pink and irritated but lacks the thick scale seen in other forms of psoriasis.
  4. Pustular Psoriasis: Pustular psoriasis is a rare form characterized by small pustules (whitehead-like lesions) found all over the body or confined all over the body or confined to the palms, soles and other isolated areas of the body.
  5. Palmoplantar Psoriasis: This type of Psoriasis are most likely to show up on the palms and soles. It can also appear on the tops of your feet, backs of your hands, and on knuckles and nails. It may be triggered by an injury to the skin, an infection, or another skin condition such as hand dermatitis. It may first occur during a period of psychosocial stress. Lesions are like cuts which bleed.

 Psoriasis - Homeopathic Treatment

The patient should be encouraged to expose maximum to sunlight and avoid trauma during the active phase.

Homeopathic treatment of psoriasis – Homeopathy is one of the most popular holistic systems of medicine. The selection of remedy is based upon the theory of individualization and symptoms similarity by using holistic approach.

This is the only way through which a state of complete health can be regained by removing all the signs and symptoms from which the patient is suffering. The aim of homeopathy is not only to treat psoriasis but to address its underlying cause and individual susceptibility. As far as therapeutic medication is concerned; several well-proved remedies are available for psoriasis treatment that can be selected on the basis of cause, location, sensation, modalities and extension of psoriasis. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can ask a free question.

With all its moisturizing action, aloe vera is one of the most effective skin soothing agents. When you rub the gel over an itchy spot, it helps reduce the skin irritation in that area and provides quick relief from itching. Just break a leaf from the plant, cut it lengthwise using a knife and using a spoon, scoop out the jelly-like substance inside. Apply a little of this gel to the itchy area and leave it on for a few minutes.

What should I do in case of fungal infection I am facing this is since six months.

MBBS, MD - Dermatology , Venereology & Leprosy
Dermatologist, Mumbai
The treatment for fungal infection is simple. You have to take anti fungal tablets and creams for 4 to 6 weeks following which it resolves. Do not apply soap on that area and do not self treat with over the counter steroid creams. Mistreatment with steroid creams and self treatment with cheaper medicine is the most common reason for recurrent disease. Kindly send photos using private chat for accurate diagnosis and treatment. If this is fungal infection, it needs to be treated as early as possible as it will spread further on your body and also to other people in the household.

When to go for Hair Transplant

Certifications From American Academy of Dermatology
Trichologist, Navi Mumbai
When to go for Hair Transplant

Hair transplant is a surgical procedure where hair is surgically implanted on the head. You can opt for this procedure if you suffer from hair loss and bald spots on your head. The surgery comprises of shifting hair follicles from one part of the head to another. Mostly, hair follicles from back of the head are relocated to the balding areas.

The reasons when may opt for a hair transplant are -
1. Involutional alopecia
It is a form of alopecia where the hair growth tends to decrease due to ageing resulting in thinning and shorter hair. The follicles remain in the telogen phase (resting phase) for an extended amount of time. You may opt for a hair transplant surgery to correct this disorder.

2. Male pattern baldness (Androgenic alopecia)
Androgenic alopecia is a condition which is characterized by a gradual receding hairline, especially along the temples. This is caused due to the testosterone hormone being converted in to Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) which causes shrinking of the hair follicles. If you are affected by male pattern baldness, then you may opt for a hair transplant surgery.

3. Female pattern baldness
Females may also be affected by baldness which is characterized by loss of hair from the top of the head and gradual thinning of hair. It may lead to self-esteem issues; so opting for a hair transplant surgery is recommended.

4. Traction alopecia
This type of hair loss occurs due to exertion of external pressure on the hair which may cause it to fall. If the hair does not grow back then it would result in a bald patch. Thus you may opt for a hair transplant procedure if you suffer from this disorder and experience loss of hair.

5. Trichotillomania
This is a psychological condition where a person pulls out his/her hair. If excessive hair is lost resulting in bald spots, then you may opt for hair transplant surgery.
