I am unable to move my left toe upwards. I feel a sort of numbness in it. I am also unable to lift my steps properly while walking, jogging and especially climbing stairs. I also have huge muscle cramps in my calf muscle and toes which starts exactly once I lie down to sleep.

Headache VS Migraine

Headaches are generally classified into two main types: primary headaches and secondary headaches. A migraine, which is a disabling, recurring headache that frequently occurs only on one side of the head and often results in other symptoms, is one type of primary headache. Other primary headaches include cluster and tension headaches. Tension-type headaches are the most common headache, and are often experienced as mild, dull pressure without other accompanying symptoms. Cluster headaches, which are less common than migraines or tension headaches, usually bring severe pain (sometimes described as ?stabbing? pain) behind one eye, and may be accompanied by redness and nasal congestion.

Migraine is a disturbing and relapsing kind of headache. It has to be treated with precision taking into consideration its provocative factors of relapse. At present you may take the same medication for headaches. For preventing future relapses you need prophylactic treatmnet. Consult a headache specialist for the same. For further queries and help online you may contact me.

My grandfather got paralysis a year ago and past few days he got pits. Why is this happening. His left cerebrum was dried. No other diseases.

DNB(Neurosurgery)
Neurosurgeon, Ahmedabad
Fits can be due to many resons. Most common in this kind of case senarios are. Low sodium or glucose, rarely it can be another episod of stroke. Fits can also occur because the'dried' or dead cerebral tissue acts as irritative focus. But this cause is common in early days post stroke.

Hello Madhu You already know the trigger factors so it's best to avoid all those things which lead to headache. You can take homeopathic treatment to control the frequency and intensity of your attacks and over a period of time your allopathic medicine can be stopped.

My friend is 27 year old female who has had 2 brain surgeries namely decompressive craniotomy for hematoma in 2015. She is fine now and was asked to take levipil. Doctor had told her not to consume alcohol for a year. Can she consume marijuana now? Also can she go on a microlight aircraft which is pretty much like flying in a flight however it is open and goes as high as 1500 feet for 10 mins.

FMAS, MS
General Surgeon, Gandhinagar
Hello dear lybrate-user, Warm welcome to Lybrate.com I have evaluated your query thoroughly.* When the patient is on anti convulsant medicine as levipil, it is strongly recommended not to consume marijuana at all.* Can take flight without doubts. Hope this clears your query. Wishing you fine recovery. Welcome for any further assistance. Regards take care.
