Pets become overweight for very simple reason. they eat more calories than what they can spend. Owners are responsible to ensure and regulate proper calorie intake and expenditure.
Factors contributing to obesity are-
Food type: Feeding carb rich and excessive fatty food has cumulative effect leading to obesity.
Neutering - calorie requirements reduce post neutering as the metabolic rate lowers. controlled intake and regular activity helps to keep obesity at bay.
Diseases - Hypothyroidism, Cushing's Disease (excess intrinsic steroids), diabetes etc

Adverse effects of obesity:
Early onset of osteoarthritis/joint disease
Breathing difficulty in short snouted breeds like pugs
Heart disease/high blood pressure
Pancreatitis/hepatitis in cats

Obesity in Pets is completely preventable disease. Cost of managing a obese pet can be financially as well as emotionally taxing. Its always better to prevent than cure!!!!

Just give soft gruel kind of food n check. Like cerelac etc. If vilomiting immediately without squeezing the stomach, that means your puppy has megaesophagus. Which is not good.

I will suggest you to clean the wound with normal saline solution and do dry dressing and cover the wound

Sudden cases of intestinal torsion or volvulus (twisting of intestines due to over feeding or sudden activity immediately after having bulk food) all can result in a rapid deterioration and ultimate death. This can only be confirmed by an ultrasonography or in your case a post mortem. Very sorry for your loss.

The treatment for hypothyroidism advised to your pet is alright. The protocol for treating such patients vary according to the condition of the pet, requirement of dose depending on the test reports and its clinical manifestation. As far as she is active there is no problem , her appetite is of very low level , can give liver supplements to improve their diet patterns . Please consult your vet

In come cases, female dogs normally doesn't feel active & don't have the urge to eat during periods. It will become normal after few days after the periods are over.

If dogs r alive after 14 days, it's ok. So you need to take arv on 0, 3, 7 days thereafter wait upto 14 days to see if dogs r ok or not. At the same time, your cat if she remains healthy and fit for 15 days from the day of bite, you also need not to worry anything from that particular bite.
