My baby is suffering from Loose motions followed by red spots on her upper body n hands. This is happening every alternate week past 3 months. I have shown her to 5 different pediatric n 1 homeopathy doctor but no use. Her motions are still there and they are sticky / mucous n red spots are reappearing every now n then. What can this be?

1.Stop using the soap ,cream and oil that you are using for your baby. 2.bring some (20-30) fresh Neem leaves. Wash them with water. Soak these leaves in a bucket of water for whole day. Take out the leaves in morning and make your baby bath with this water for 4-5 days. 3.change her towel and make her wear only cotton clothes. 4.give her curd ,khichdi ,dal to eat .no non veg ,no egg, NO MILK. HOME REMEDIES - Take 10-15 basil leaves and 10-15 neem leaves. Mix them and crush to a paste. Add to 1 glass of water. Mix well. Drink on an empty stomach once everyday. Warm water + 3teaspoon cinnamon powder + 2tablespoon honey .Drink this thrice a day. Drink 4litres of water per day. Avoid refrigerated water. Yogasanas & Pranayamas- Ardhmatyrndrasana, Shalabhasan, Vajrasana, Anulom-Vilom, Kapalbhati. Quit smoking. Smoking lowers HDL cholesterol levels and increases the tendency for blood to clot thereby increasing the chances of Haemorrhage and Cardiac Diseases. Use olive oil, sesame oil for making food. Arjun Ksheer Pak- Soak 2 teaspoon of arjun bark powder in 100 ml water at night. Next morning add 100 ml of milk in this and cook till the mixture is reduced to half. Strain with a cloth and drink 50 ml in morning and 50 ml in the night half hour after meals. This reduces cholesterol quickly and also strenghthens the heart muscles. Eat a plateful salad 1 hr before lunch and 1 hr before dinner. Take dinner before 8 pm. Do not drink milk. Have green tea. Follow the above strictly for 1 month and repeat your tests to see the results.

Ten Natural Remedies for INSOMNIA(inability to sleep)

1.Have a glass of hot milk with green cardamom powder before going to bed. Taking it on a regular basis relaxes one's mind and gives a good night's sleep.

 

2.Add one teaspoon each of brahmi and ashwagandha powder into a glass of water. Drink just before going to bed.

 

3.Boil around 3 grams of fresh mint leaves or around 1.5 grams of dried powder of mint leaves in one glass of water till it reduces to half and drink lukewarm before going to bed.

 

4.Massage your feet with lukewarm mustard oil/sesame oil two times a day and before retiring to bed. This increases blood circulation and relaxes one's mind.

 

5.Add one teaspoon each of brahmi and ashwagandha powder into a glass of water. Drink just before going to bed.

 

6.Sprinkle one teaspoon of cumin powder on a sliced banana. Eat it regularly at night for good digestive system and curing insomnia. (If you are sensitive to cold avoid taking Banana at night).

7.Practice regular Meditation.

 

8.Do not watch TV and avoid using mobile phone at least 1hr before going to bed.

 

9.Go for a morning walk, do brisk exercises ,do not take a nap at daytime and follow a fixed schedule of sleeping at night.

 

10.Do SAVASANA before sleeping at night.

1. Maintain hydration throughout the day by drinking water. Always take a water bottle whenever you go out.

2. Eat raw onion mixed with mint leaves and green chilly with meals.

3. Drink chaach, nimbu pani, nariyal pani, aam pana as and whenever possible.

4. Soak raisins(munakka), dry dates(chuhara) in water and consume.

5. Consume fruits like musk melon, water melon, grapes, musammi, papaya etc.

6. Avoid going out during peak hot hours and don't leave children in a parked car.

7. Schedule your exercises / yoga to early morning hours.

8. In the case of dehydration take rest, drink ORS , carry out cold water sponging.

Note:

If you are extremely dehydrated or start feeling vertigo/dizziness rush to the nearest hospital.

Three home remedies- 1. Mix equal quantities of saffron, turmeric, neem, red sandalwood, tulsi, and multani mitti with buttermilk or milk and make a paste of it. Apply twice a day. 2. Apply a paste of fresh fenugreek leaves and wash off with warm water before going to bed. 3. Apply a mixture of carrot juice and pineapple juice to skin twice a week. This not only removes the marks but also adds shine to your skin. Diet- 1. Eat fresh neem leaves twice a day. 2. Raw onion, raw garlic, raw ginger, mint, boiled beans, carrots, sweet potato, flaxseed, oranges, tomato, lemon, spinach. 3. Salad 1hr before lunch and 1hr before dinner. 4. Minimise sugar consumption (especially chocolates, sweets, sugar in tea). 5. Start using a herbal shampoo and kallonji oil. Do's and do not's- 1. Avoid spicy, oily foods, tea, coffee, cold drinks and fast foods. 2. Eat fresh, unprocessed food. 3. 1. Mix 1teaspoon honey, 2teaspoon of lukewarm water and 1teaspoon of cinnamon powder and rub in the joint pain areas. Relief is noticeable.

2. Mix half tablespoon of honey with one-fourth teaspoon cinnamon powder and consume every morning just before breakfast. Take for one month and get relief from pain and increased mobility.

I am suffering from dry cough for the last 2 weeks. Can you suggest what should be done?

1. Home Remedies for dry cough: A) Hot, dark chocolate sweetened with a little bit of honey helps in reducing cough. Chocolate contains theobromine, which can suppress the nerve that is responsible for coughing, and is also more effective in curing persistent coughs than codeine.(Note- milk chocolate doesn’t work). B) Grate garlic and squeeze out its juicy extract. Drink 1teaspoon followed by half cup (40ml) lukewarm water. Drink this 4times a day and see the results. C) Roast cloves (lavang) and chew 2 cloves after every 4 to 6hrs. D) Roast cloves (lavang) and black pepper (kalimirch) in the ratio of 2: 1 and grind them together to make a fine powder. Take 1teaspoon after every meal with honey. 2. Steam - Put Water in a Saucer and boil it well. Then put few pieces of cloves (lavang) and 2spoons of honey into boiled water and take steam. Then lie down on bed fully covered with a blanket. 3. Do not's- 1. Avoid mucus producing foods like curd, sour fruits, banana, sugar. 2. Avoid exposure to smoke, perfumes, paints etc. 3. Avoid cold, moist, damp places. 4. Use cotton pillow instead of feather pillow. 5. Never take aspirin. 6. Avoid constipation.

-India is home to the world's largest number of blind people (the times of India-oct 11, 2007).
-of the 37 million people across the globe who are blind, over 15 million are from India. Moreover, the risk of cataract is also high in India, with about 3 million people developing this condition, annually.
-if proper care of eye is not taken, it can result in various eye conditions such as age-related macular degeneration and cataracts, which is a leading cause of blindness in the world. Thus, proper eye care is the need of the hour.

A. Ayurvedic herbs to improve eyesight:
1. Amla - extract the juice of fresh amla and drink 20 ml (half cup) twice daily.
2. Asparagus (Shatavari) - mix 1 teaspoon of powdered asparagus in half teaspoon of honey. Take the mixture twice daily with warm cow's milk.
3. Bhringraj - application of bhringraj herb or amla herb paste helps in improving eye vision.
4. Triphala - Triphala is very useful for eye health. Take 1teaspoon daily at bedtime with lukewarm water.
5. Garlic - the juice extracted from fresh garlic taken daily empty stomach is very useful for eyesight.
6. Rose petals - freshly extracted juice of properly cleaned rose petals, which can be used both internally and externally for improving eye vision.
7. Liquorice - take approximately half to 1 teaspoon of liquorice powder with cow's milk twice daily. This powder can also be mixed with ghee or honey.
8. Ghee - rub a small amount of cow ghee on soles of the feet to improve eye vision.

B. Diet:
-include these into the daily diet-
Carrots, amla, beetroot, cucumber, turnip, spinach.
Apple, grapes, pomegranate.
Soaked almonds.

C. Simple eye exercises-
1. Rub your palms together till they become warm and then place them on your eyes. Let your palms remain there for 10 seconds and then open your eyes.

2. Roll the eyeballs up and down, and left and right without moving your position. Repeat this exercise about 5 to 10 times. This helps relax the muscles in your eyes.

D. Points to remember:
1. Ensure that your eyes remain hydrated.
2. Don't keep looking at the computer screen continuously.
3. Give your body a balanced diet and correct amount of sleep.
4. Make it a daily habit to perform eye exercises.
5. Always clean your eyes with cold (filtered) water, from time to time.
6. Stop smoking.
7. Never look into the sun directly.
8. Sit at least 22-28 inches away from the screen.
9. Have regular eye exams to check for diabetes and high blood pressure, if these health problems already exist in the family.

I am 18 years old and I have been suffering from migraine since last 9 years. I had taken number of medical treatments for this but doesn't get relief. Please suggest me something that would help me to get rid of this severe pain.

A. Causes-: Improper metabolism, Suppression of natural urges, anger, jealousy, grief, poor elimination, intake of dry, pungent and salty food, intake of polluted food, mental and physical stress, viewing of TV for long periods, reading with insufficient light, sleeplessness etc. B. Origin of migraine headache-: Due to the causative factors, Pitta Dosha obstructs the flow of Vata dosha in brain, causing throbbing pain. C. Pain Management-: 1. Avoiding the cause and trigger factors. 2. Keeping a diary record of specific foods eaten, environmental exposure, sleep patterns may help to identify personal trigger factors. 3. Sneha nasya therapy at home-: Sneha nasya, instillation of medicated oils to the nostrils by Shadbindu tailam or Anu tailam yield significant benefits. 4. Apply a paste of freshly ground clay or freshly ground sandalwood to the forehead, let dry, rub off by hand and wash. 5. Mix ¼ teaspoon of clove powder with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon oil. Apply this paste on the affected area for 20-30 minutes. 6. Add chamomile powder to 1 cup of boiling water. Transfer the liquid to a cup. Drink when hot. It gives fast relief from migraine. 7. Take ½ glass of carrot juice. Add ½ glass of spinach juice. Mix well. Drink this juice twice daily. 8. Grind 10-12 grains of black pepper and 10-12 grains of rice with water to make it a paste. Apply this paste on affected area of the head for 15-20 minutes. 9. Sugar powder 16 parts, Vamshalochana 8 parts, Pippali (long pepper) 4 parts, Ela (Cardamom) 2 parts, Cinnamon – 1 part. Make fine powder and mix it, keep in tight moisture free container. Take half teaspoon thrice daily with honey. 10. Aromatherapy- Pitta calming aromas typically flower fragnances like Lily, Cloves, Lotus, Lavender, Peppermint, Rose, Sandalwood are beneficial. 11. According to ayurveda Virechan (Laxative therapy) is an effective way to reduce excess pitta. Castor oil or warm milk with ghee or triphla at bedtime is helpful. 12. Practicing meditation is highly recommended. 13. Morning and Evening walk followed by brisk exercise is recommended. 14. Avoid hard physical exertional exercises and aggresive sports competitions. 15. Avoid working for long hours continuously; take short breaks. Have a good night’s sleep (8hrs) in a dark room. D. Diet: ~~Apple, mango, papaya, cheeku, guava. ~~Salad 1hr before lunch, 1hr before dinner. ~~Buttermilk, boiled rice sauted with cinnamon, cumin seeds and garlic or asfoetida are good in the daytime. ~~Have warm and easily digestible foods, boiled and steamed vegetables, soups, vegetable juices, porridge, brown rice and whole-wheat flour. ~~Avoid yogurt, especially at night. ~~Avoid refined, oily, spicy, cold, sour foods (fermented, pickled) and stale food, aerated drinks. ~~Avoid coffee, tea, alcohol, smoking. ~~Avoid cheese, chocolate and wine. E. Yogasanas and Pranayama: Hastapadasana, Setu Bandhasana, Marjariasana, Paschimottanasana, Bhastrika and Anulom-Vilom Pranayama. NOTE: When suffering from a migraine attack: ~Lie down in a dark, quiet place & get some sleep. ~~Avoid eating. ~~Drink only water. ~~Apply hot or cold compresses. ~~ Consult doctor.

Home remedies for management of hairloss: -grind kallonji finely and add honey. Mix it well and apply in the bald area. Leave for 20minutes and then wash. Use thrice weekly for 2months. -warm a small amount of olive oil. Add 1tablespoon of cinnamon powder and 1tablespoon of honey. Mix it well and apply on the hair base. Leave for 20minutes and then wash. Use twice weekly for 2months to get results and see hairfall has decreased. -apply onion juice onto your scalp, massage, and leave it on for about 30 minutes to an hour. Repeat the process daily for 4 weeks. Oil- boil a handful of fresh curry leaves in 6-8 tablespoons of coconut oil until the leaves become black. Strain the oil. Apply this oil to your hair daily at night and massage your scalp only with fingers gently. Massage for about 15-20 minutes. Leave it overnight and wash off your hair the next morning. Best home remedies - diet for dengue:

1. Fresh papaya leaf juice 4 to 5 times daily.

2. Chew soft Guduchi stems (3 to 4 thumb sized).

3. Decoction--10 harsingar leaves + 8 kalimirch + 6-8 tulsi leaves. Boil these in 1litre of water until one-fourth quantity is left. Strain it. Drink 3-4tsf of this decoction every 3-4hrs.

4. Wheatgrass juice twice daily.

Diet:

Drink 2-3ltrs of ors/2-3ltrs boiled water/1ltr lemon water/1ltr coconut water.

Fruits-papaya, orange, mausmi, kiwi, pomegranate, cheeku.

Juice of carrot + beetroot + spinach + amla.

High protein diet.

Tulsi - a **miracle** plant

Tulsi is regarded as an 'elixir of life' and believed to promote longevity. It is considered to be an adaptogen, balancing different processes in the body. It has also been suggested to possess antifertility, anticancer, antidiabetic, antifungal, antimicrobial, hepatoprotective, cardioprotective, antiemetic, antispasmodic, analgesic, and diaphoretic actions.

A. Benefits-:

1. It is considered as a tonic to retain youth and avoid aging. Vitamin c, vitamin a, phytonutrients and the essential oils in tulsi are excellent antioxidants and protect the body from nearly all the damages caused by the free radicals.

2. It is anti-carcinogenic and it found to be effective in healing nearly all types of cancer and tumors.

3. It reduces total cholesterol levels and blood pressure. Thus, it is useful for heart disease patients.

4. It is useful in the treatment of respiratory system disorders. A decoction of the leaves, with honey and ginger, is an effective remedy for bronchitis, asthma, influenza, cough and cold.

5. It can protect from radiation poisoning and also heals up damages caused by radiations. It acts as a vaccine against pox if consumed regularly.

6. It is used as a mouth wash. It is very good for maintaining dental health, counteracting bad breath and for massaging the gums. It is also useful in pyorrhea.

7. It also cures ulcer in the mouth. It is also known to help inhibit the growth of oral cancer caused by chewing tobacco etc.
8. It is an excellent antibiotic, germicidal, fungicidal and disinfectant and very efficiently protects our body from nearly all sorts of bacterial, viral and fungal infections.

13. Recent studies on tulsi proved to be a useful medication for people living with human immunodeficiency virus (hiv), and acquired immune deficiency virus (aids).

14. Tulsi, being a detoxifier and mild diuretic in nature, can help reduce uric acid level (main culprit as far as kidney stones are concerned) concentration in the blood as well as helps cleaning of the kidneys through urination.

15. Tulsi oil application on the body keeps mosquitoes and other insects away.

B. How to use-:

1. Tulsi leaves extract (swaras)-

  • how to prepare - take some fresh tulsi leaves, wash them, then crush them well and squeeze the pure extract.
  • dose - 2tablespoon in adults empty stomach in the morning.
  • beneficial in cold, cough, fever, oral ulcer, liver disorders, indigestion, bronchitis, insect bites, cancer ((bacterial and viral infections).
  • extenal application of tulsi leaves extract- in fungal infections, ringworm, insect bites.

2. Tulsi leaves decoction (kaadha)-

  • how to prepare - take some fresh tulsi leaves, wash them, boil with 4cups of water. Boil this until 1cup of water remains.
  • dose- drink half cup (lukewarm) in the morning on empty stomach and a half cup in the evening.
  • beneficial in pyorrhea, cold, cough, influenza, rheumatoid arthritis, gastric disorders, tuberculosis (bacterial and viral infections).
  • a decoction of the whole plant lowers the blood sugar (glucose) level and is said to control diabetes mellitus.
  • a decoction of the root of tulsi plant is given as a diaphoretic in malarial fever.
  • the regular consumption of tulsi leaves extract or decoction helps prevent viral fevers, cough, cold and many other diseases.

Get your thyroid and vit-d tests done. If these are imbalaced, then balancing them is necessary. Ayurvedic management of hairloss: -grind the curry leaves and squeeze out their juice. Mix curry leaves juice and buttermilk. Boil the mixture on low flame for 5 minutes. Let it cool to become lukewarm. Apply this lukewarm buttermilk-curry leaves juice mixture on your scalp. Leave for half an hour. Wash hair with lukewarm water. -warm a small amount of olive oil. Add 1tablespoon of cinnamon powder and 1tablespoon of honey. Mix it well and apply on the hair base. Leave for 20minutes and then wash. Use twice weekly for 2months to get results and see hairfall has decreased. -apply onion juice onto your scalp, massage, and leave it on for about 30 minutes to an hour. Repeat the process daily for 4 weeks. Oil- boil a handful of fresh curry leaves in 6-8 tablespoons of coconut oil until the leaves become black. Strain the oil. Apply this oil to your hair daily at night and massage your scalp only with fingers gently. Massage for about 15-20 minutes. Leave it overnight and wash off your hair the next morning. Home Remedies- -Mix equal quantities of saffron, turmeric, neem, red sandalwood, tulsi, and multani mitti with buttermilk or milk and make a paste of it. Apply twice a day. -A paste of fresh fenugreek leaves, applied and washed off with warm water before going to bed is good for removing scars of old pimples. -To remove skin marks, apply a mixture of carrot juice and pineapple juice to skin twice a week. This not only removes the marks but also adds shine to your skin. -Make a powdered mixture of coriander seeds, saunf, tulsi, turmeric, and Indian gooseberry (amla) in equal parts. Take ½ teaspoon of this powder 15 minutes before lunch and dinner. -Take 1 teaspoon of powdered Indian gooseberry fruit (amla) in morning and evening with water. -Eat fresh neem leaves twice a day. Diet- -Flaxseed, oranges, tomato, lemon, spinach. -Salad 1hr before lunch and 1hr before dinner. -Minimise sugar consumption (especially chocolates, sweets, sugar in tea). -Start using a herbal shampoo and kallonji oil. Do's and Do not's- -Avoid spicy, oily foods, tea, coffee, cold drinks and fast foods. -Eat fresh, unprocessed food. -Avoid washing your face with soaps.
