I am 27 year old. Right now I am preparing for civil service exam. I had stayed during my engg days with my aunt and uncle for 1 year. My aunt treated me very very badly. She asked me to leave after 1 year yet she himself called me to stay in their house as I had already prepared to stay in hostel. She defames me and wrongly accused for pretty things. They just called me because their son was preparing for engg entrance exam and I could accompany him for study and as soon as their motive is over they trashed me out. I had personal grudge with my aunt. She was mastermind behind all this. I cannot forget all these personal trauma till now. I started excessive masturbation after that. I always thought to defame her. I had no respect for her. I saw her as only sexobject. Whenever I masturbate in my conscious I was degrading her. Whenever I saw her I just wanted to beat her mercilessly. But now I wanted to come out from all these stuff as it was sometimes affected my study. Although I never forgive her. Please suggest me solution.

Hello, It's sounds like a traumatic times you are going through. I empathize the way you were treated by aunt. However, forgiveness will free you from the Bondage of anger and resentment, only then you will have peace and concentration when you study. To let go of the past, it will be nice if you opt for therapy, this will help you to overcome, let go, and ultimately you will feel like a winner.. Regards

How to get free from stress? Please tell me.

How to get free from stress? Please tell me.
Dear, Stress is simply a reaction to a stimulus that disturbs our physical or mental equilibrium. In other words, it's an omnipresent part of life. A stressful event can trigger the “fight-or-flight” response, causing hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol to surge through the body. A little bit of stress, known as “acute stress,” can be exciting—it keeps us active and alert. But long-term, or “chronic stress,” can have detrimental effects on health. You may not be able to control the stressors in your world, but you can alter your reaction to them. I need to know, what are the causes with which you are stressed? Once you know the reason, you will be able to adjust with it with some psycho therapy methods. Please let me know the details. Take care.

All factors that come with yoru age. But it is also an opportune moment to find out what may have happened in your early childhood that has contributed to this situation, and seek the help of a counselor. I also recommend that you visit the counselor along with yoru parents. I suspect that the adolescent issues with regard to hormones may be affecting your ability to concentrate and remember. When the hormones play up, it lasts for a period of close to two years and during that time you could be influenced by three signs directly impacted by the chemical: you will tend to become aggressive and rebellious, you will become sexually active, and you will have acne and pimple problems. The hormonal imbalances may not only impact your memory because of the chemical but also bring some distractions that come with it. But you may work on the following even if the hormones kick in: Daily exercise of at least half an hour is a must. Even if you go to a gym, ask for aerobic and/or callisthenic exercises with whatever else you are doing. A healthy body harbors a healthy mind. With regard to memory, it is very important that your brain and body is ideally rested to be able to recall whatever is required, rather comfortably. Puzzles pose problems to the brain that help it to use new pathways and neurons, which give the brain considerable exercise. It taxes the left brain to use logic to solve the myriad possibilities which other activities do not stimulate. Crosswords are excellent for vocabulary learning and use. Jigsaws and Rubik cube stimulate different permutations to finally settle on the most likely one. Picture completion and anagrams help approach problem solving from several angles. Do Sudoku, and memory co-relation activities and skills. Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber (whole grains, fruits and vegetables), nuts, avocado, eat dark chocolate, consume less of fat and use olive oil instead, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. You need to check out if you are stronger visual or auditory. The visual is a better mode than the auditory. However, if you combine the two modes, you will get the best concentration. Have a special place of learning, which should be well lit, with soft painted walls, well-ventilated, with no distractions. When you get bored, study by writing. If you repeat learning at least five to seven times, you will apparently remember for a longer time. Sit comfortably but do not slouch. The reading material should be of a fairly large print. Study at small intervals of about 40 minutes and then take a break or change the subject. Short-term memory is a faculty of the left brain, and long-term memory is a feature of the right brain. When people are stressed, they tend to favor the right brain and abandon the left brain, where short-term memory resides. So, it is really very simple: deal with the stress and activate left brain functions. Here are a few suggestions to activate left brain function: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. There is a new exercise called Super Brain Yoga, which is done by holding the right earlobe with your left thumb and index finger, and the left earlobe with your right hand’s thumb and index finger. In this position you must squat down and rise up and do this for five minutes every day. There are some memory enhancing techniques and study methods that your teacher will be able to guide you with. If your home life is full of distractions and stress, it is likely to affect your memory, adversely. In that case, I suggest that the family goes for counseling too. The following foods do help too: Blueberries, walnuts, turmeric, Spinach, tomatoes, broccoli, acorn squash, green tea, oily fish, boiled egg, turkey, apples, oatmeal, leafy greens, lentils, pumpkin seeds, avocado, cinnamon, thyme, sunflower seeds, and red wine. Avoid sugar and junk food.

Dear lybrate-user, you will need a consultation from a psychiatrist and a neurologist to see exactly what the problem is. What you are saying appears to be like a neurological symptoms but considering your age, there is a strong possibility that it may have some psychiatric basis. We will have to get blood tests like hemogram, rft, lft, electrolytes, rbs, tsh and vitamin b12 levels. Ecg and mri brain will also be needed. Do not ignore this and get it properly evaluated. Dear lybrate user. You can reduce your blood hemoglobin content by donating blood. Donating blood is one of the best methods to lower hemoglobin levels. Other steps you can take: - make sure your multivitamin does not contain iron. - avoid iron cookware. - limit vitamin c to know more than 500 mg/day until ferritin level decreases. - check iron content of your water. - limit food sources high in iron, such as red meats and fortified cereals/grains. Take care.

STRESS CONTROL There are many ways to tame your stress and keep it at bay. Here are 20 tips to tame your stress today, and keep the stress monsters at bay. 1.Perform diaphragmatic or deep breathing exercises. 2.Lie face down on the floor and begin breathing deeply and slowly, with your hands resting under your face. Do this for five minutes. 3.Sit in a reclining chair. Put a hand on your abdomen and a hand on your chest. As you breathe, make sure the hand on your abdomen is moving up and down rather than one on your chest. If the hand on your abdomen is moving you are breathing deeply and slowly. 4.Try progressive muscle relaxation or “deep muscle” relaxation. Progressively tense and relax each muscle group in your body. Learn the difference between muscle tension and relaxation. 5.Meditate. Use visualization or imagery to help you learn to be one with your thoughts. Sit quietly with your eyes closed, imagining the sights, sounds and smells of your favorite place, such as a beach or mountain retreat. 6.Exercise regularly or take up yoga. 7.Consult a psychologist about the use of biofeedback 8.Make time for music, art or other hobbies that help relax and distract you. 9.Learn to identify and monitor stressors. Come up with an organized plan for handling stressful situations. Be careful not to overgeneralize negative reactions to things. 10.Make a list of the important things you need to handle each day. Try to follow the list so you feel organized and on top of things. Put together a coping plan step by step so you have a sense of mastery. 11.Keep an eye on things that might suggest you’re not coping well. For example, are you smoking or drinking more, or sleeping less? 12.Keep a list of the large and little hassles in your day versus the major stressful events in your life. This helps you focus on the fact that you’re keeping track of and managing those as well as you can. 13.Set aside a time every day to work on relaxation. 14.Avoid using caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, junk food, binge eating and other drugs as your primary means for coping with stress. While they can be helpful once in awhile, using them as your only or usual method will result in longer-term problems, such as weight problems or alcoholism. 15.Learn to just say, “No” occasionally. It won’t hurt other people’s feelings as much as you think and is simply a method to be more assertive in your own life, to better help you meet your own needs. 16.Get the right amount of sleep. For most people, this is seven to nine hours a night. 17.Cultivate a sense of humor; laugh. 18.Research has shown that having a close, confiding relationship protects you from many stresses. 19.Don’t run from your problems! This only makes them worse. 20.Talk to your family and friends. See if they can help. If these tips don’t help, or you’ve tried a lot of them with little luck in better taming the stress in your life, it may be time to consider taking it up a notch. A mental health professional — such as a psychologist — can help teach you more effective methods for handling stress in a healthy way in your life. Such psychotherapy is short-term and time-limited, with a focus on helping you better deal with stress. Remember — we do have control over the stress and choices we make in our lives. It sometimes takes a little practice and effort to put some of these techniques into play in your life. But once you do so, you may be pleasantly surprised at the positive benefits you’ll receive If you need any prescription please consult me as we cannot prescribe in questions session. Regards.

Dear lybrate user. I can understand. Anger and aggression are emotions. These emotions always arise because of irritation, disappointment or events which were negative and not expected. But you should understand, these are common. You cannot change situations or circumstances. But we can always alter our perception and behavior about what is happening. This the core of anger management. I suggest online anger management training. Take care.

Dear , nobody can provide happiness in a serving plate to you. You should be able to see happiness around you. Happiness is your own perception. For me even seeing a butterfly provides happiness. For some watching children play, cooking, playing, movies, hobbies etc provides happiness. So perception towards happiness differs person to person. You should cultivate an attitude to be happy always. Take care.

Stammering can be made lesser only and only by speech therapy. So you should take the help of a speech therapist. Also, i'd suggest you to visit a psychologist as confidence plays a great role in dealing with this problem. I'd suggest you to speak very slowly, word by word. People may make fun of this but believe me, slowly you'll get better at it. Hope your query is answered. Feel free to ask if you have any doubts. Wishing you good health.
