Please dont treat her for rheumatic heart disease. Aso is a misused test and patients are treated long term for no reasons. If she has pain and swelling in the elbow and knee joints, I would suggest you visit a rheumatologist and get it sorted out. Dont go on pencillin.

Well, if your disease is well controlled on it, continue the same. Try to go off medrol as it will affect your bones in the long run.

Yes, we even see arthritis in kids who are 6-7 year old. Arthritis as such has no age and is more common in females between 20-40 years.

Hi. I'm suffering from rheumatoid arthritis for last four years. I m under treatment of rheumatologist. For last two years i'm taking hydroxychloroquinol sulphate 400. Having pain in left knee and fingers. My question is will this medicine cure my disease? i'm male 36 years. Unmarried.

Good evening. Well hcqs is a very mild medicine for rheumatoid arthritis. Firstly arthritis can be controlled, but to cure it is hard. For some people, it automatically goes into remission. If your symptoms are increasing you need to get your medicines adjusted.

Good evening. Well it looks like an early start of osteoarthritis. You should get an x ray done to see the aligntment and the joint space of the knee joint. Try working on your quadriceps muscles as well.

l if you are a known case of rheumatoid arthritis these are not the medications you should be on. Naprosyn on long term is not good nor would it help control the disease. You need the medications for rheumatoid to control the disease do let me know your location so I can guide you to a rheumatologist regards

My age is 65 years and I have been treated for rheumatoid and taking nicosia tab 120mg daily and medrol 16mg once a week. But if I sit on chair for 2hours or more I get pain in my back. Please advise me.

MD - Medicine
Rheumatologist, Gurgaon
Well, for rheumatoid nucoxia and medrol are not the good options. Considering your age it can have an impact on the kidneys. If it is rheumatoid you will have to take proper treatment for it like folitrax (methotrexate). Kindly consult a rheumatologist around you. Backpain is not a symptom of rheumatoid arthritis. So it has to be looked into. Regards.

Hi, my mother is 60 year old and is sufferring from a type - 2 since 15 years. She has severe knee pains since four years. Kindly advice.

MD - Medicine

Good evening considering her age, it looks more of an osteoarthritis. However with diabetes it is neccessary to rule out other forms of arthritis as well. A examination would be helpful. If not possible, you can post a picture of the x ray of both knees (standing once). Avoid strong pain killers as it can harm the kidneys with diabetes as background.

I'm a 75 year old male. I have osteoarthritis in my both knees. Some doctor suggest to go for knee replacement. Some suggest to have injection to delay the operation. How effective injection is and what injection you suggest. Please advise.

MD - Medicine

well for osteoarthritis, best is to do some exercises and take vitamin d and calcium supplements. Avoid taking any strong pain killers as it can affect the kidneys. Do let me know for more information you need regards Dr. Naval.
