Well you have a stent to lad. You need to take clopidrogel and adpirin regularly. Check lioid levels control blood glucose. Exercise is good. Thymectomy (removal of thymus gland in the neck) will help to control myasthenia. Neurologist will prescribe prostigmine also. See a neurologist. Plenty of vegetables and fruits is good.

I am now 62 years and on steroid 10 mg alternate days (Omnacortil or wysolone) for the last 15 Years, since suffering from Collagen Vasculitis Disorder (autoimmunity). Usage of steroid caused Diabetics, BP and cholesterol, hence taking insulin and other medicines. Any new development in the treatment towards the above by skipping steroid?

Hi there How to Stop Worrying Self-Help Strategies for Relief from Anxieties, Worries, and Fears Self-Help for Anxiety Relief Worrying can be helpful when it spurs you to take action and solve a problem. But if you’re preoccupied with “what ifs” and worst-case scenarios, worry becomes a problem. Unrelenting doubts and fears can be paralyzing. They can sap your emotional energy, send your anxiety levels soaring, and interfere with your daily life. But chronic worrying is a mental habit that can be broken. You can train your brain to stay calm and look at life from a more positive perspective. Why is it so hard to stop worrying? No one likes the way constant worrying makes you feel, so why is it so difficult to stop? The answer lies in the beliefs—both negative and positive—you have about worrying. On the negative side, you may believe that your constant worrying is going to spiral completely out of control, drive you crazy, or damage your health. On the positive side, you may believe that your worrying helps you avoid bad things, prepare for the worst, or come up with solutions. You may even believe that worrying shows you’re a caring and conscientious person. Negative beliefs, or worrying about worrying, add to your anxiety and keep it going (much in the same way worrying about getting to sleep often keeps you awake). But positive beliefs about worrying can be even more damaging. It’s tough to break the worry habit if you believe that your worrying protects you. In order to stop worry and anxiety for good, you must give up your belief that worrying serves a positive purpose. Once you realize that worrying is the problem, not the solution, you can regain control of your worried mind. Worry and anxiety self-help tip #1: Create a worry period It’s tough to be productive in your daily life when anxiety and worry are dominating your thoughts. But what can you do? Telling yourself to stop worrying doesn’t work—at least not for long. You can distract yourself for a moment, but you can’t banish anxious thoughts for good. In fact, trying to do so often makes them stronger and more persistent. You can test this out for yourself. Close your eyes and picture a pink elephant. Once you can see itin your mind, stop thinking about it. Whatever you do, for the next 60 seconds, don’t think about pink elephants! How did you do? Did thoughts of pink elephants keep popping in your brain? Why trying to stop anxious thoughts doesn’t work “Thought stopping” backfires because it forces you to pay extra attention to the very thought you want to avoid. You always have to be watching for it, and this very emphasis makes it seem even more important. But that doesn’t mean there’s nothing you can do to control worry. You just need a different approach. This is where the strategy of postponing worrying comes in. Rather than trying to stop or get rid of an anxious thought, give yourself permission to have it, but put off dwelling on it until later. Learn to postpone worrying Create a “worry period.” Choose a set time and place for worrying. It should be the same every day (e.g. In the living room from 5: 00 to 5: 20 p.m.) and early enough that it won’t make you anxious right before bedtime. During your worry period, you’re allowed to worry about whatever’s on your mind. The rest of the day, however, is a worry-free zone. Postpone your worry. If an anxious thought or worry comes into your head during the day, make a brief note of it and then continue about your day. Remind yourself that you’ll have time to think about it later, so there’s no need to worry about it right now. Go over your “worry list” during the worry period. If the thoughts you wrote down are still bothering you, allow yourself to worry about them, but only for the amount of time you’ve specified for your worry period. If they don’t seem important any more, cut your worry period short and enjoy the rest of your day. Postponing worrying is effective because it breaks the habit of dwelling on worries when you’ve got other things to do, yet there’s no struggle to suppress the thought or judge it. You simply save it for later. And as you develop the ability to postpone your anxious thoughts, you’ll start to realize that you have more control than you think. Worry and anxiety self-help tip #2: Ask yourself if the problem is solvable Research shows that while you’re worrying, you temporarily feel less anxious. Running over the problem in your head distracts you from your emotions and makes you feel like you’re getting something accomplished. But worrying and problem solving are two very different things. Problem solving involves evaluating a situation, coming up with concrete steps for dealing with it, and then putting the plan into action. Worrying, on the other hand, rarely leads to solutions. No matter how much time you spend dwelling on worst-case scenarios, you’re no more prepared to deal with them should they actually happen. Distinguish between solvable and unsolvable worries If a worry pops into your head, start by asking yourself whether the problem is something you can actually solve. The following questions can help: Is the problem something you’re currently facing, rather than an imaginary what-if? If the problem is an imaginary what-if, how likely is it to happen? Is your concern realistic? Can you do something about the problem or prepare for it, or is it out of your control? Productive, solvable worries are those you can take action on right away. For example, if you’re worried about your bills, you could call your creditors to see about flexible payment options. Unproductive, unsolvable worries are those for which there is no corresponding action. “What if I get cancer someday?” or “What if my kid gets into an accident?” If the worry is solvable, start brainstorming. Make a list of all the possible solutions you can think of. Try not to get too hung up on finding the perfect solution. Focus on the things you have the power to change, rather than the circumstances or realities beyond your control. After you’ve evaluated your options, make a plan of action. Once you have a plan and start doing something about the problem, you’ll feel much less worried. Dealing with unsolvable worries But what if the worry isn’t something you can solve? If you’re a chronic worrier, the vast majority of your anxious thoughts probably fall in this camp. In such cases, it’s important to tune into your emotions. As previously mentioned, worrying helps you avoid unpleasant emotions. Worrying keeps you in your head, thinking about how to solve problems rather than allowing yourself to feel the underlying emotions. But you can’t worry your emotions away. While you’re worrying, your feelings are temporarily suppressed, but as soon as you stop, they bounce back. And then, you start worrying about your feelings: “What’s wrong with me? I shouldn’t feel this way!” The only way out of this vicious cycle is by learning to embrace your feelings. This may seem scary at first because of negative beliefs you have about emotions. For example, you may believe that you should always be rational and in control, that your feelings should always make sense, or that you shouldn’t feel certain emotions, such as fear or anger. The truth is that emotions—like life—are messy. They don’t always make sense and they’re not always pleasant. But as long as you can accept your feelings as part of being human, you’ll be able to experience them without becoming overwhelmed and learn how to use them to your advantage. The following tips will help you find a better balance between your intellect and your emotions. Worry and anxiety self-help tip #3: Challenge anxious thoughts If you suffer from chronic anxiety and worries, chances are you look at the world in ways that make it seem more dangerous than it really is. For example, you may overestimate the possibility that things will turn out badly, jump immediately to worst-case scenarios, or treat every negative thought as if it were fact. You may also discredit your own ability to handle life’s problems, assuming you’ll fall apart at the first sign of trouble. These irrational, pessimistic attitudes are known as cognitive distortions. Although cognitive distortions aren’t based on reality, they’re not easy to give up. Often, they’re part of a lifelong pattern of thinking that’s become so automatic you’re not even completely aware of it. In order to break these bad thinking habits and stop the worry and anxiety they bring, you must retrain your brain. Start by identifying the frightening thought, being as detailed as possible about what scares or worries you. Then, instead of viewing your thoughts as facts, treat them as hypotheses you’re testing out. As you examine and challenge your worries and fears, you’ll develop a more balanced perspective. Stop worrying by questioning the anxious thought What’s the evidence that the thought is true? That it’s not true? Is there a more positive, realistic way of looking at the situation? What’s the probability that what I’m scared of will actually happen? If the probability is low, what are some more likely outcomes? Is the thought helpful? How will worrying about it help me and how will it hurt me? What would I say to a friend who had this worry? Cognitive Distortions that Add to Anxiety, Worry, and Stress All-or-nothing thinking – Looking at things in black-or-white categories, with no middle ground. “If I fall short of perfection, I’m a total failure.” Overgeneralization – Generalizing from a single negative experience, expecting it to hold true forever. “I didn’t get hired for the job. I’ll never get any job.” The mental filter – Focusing on the negatives while filtering out all the positives. Noticing the one thing that went wrong, rather than all the things that went right. Diminishing the positive – Coming up with reasons why positive events don’t count. “I did well on the presentation, but that was just dumb luck.” Jumping to conclusions – Making negative interpretations without actual evidence. You act like a mind reader, “I can tell she secretly hates me.” Or a fortune teller, “I just know something terrible is going to happen.” Catastrophizing – Expecting the worst-case scenario to happen. “The pilot said we’re in for some turbulence. The plane’s going to crash!” Emotional reasoning – Believing that the way you feel reflects reality. “I feel frightened right now. That must mean I’m in real physical danger.” 'Shoulds’ and ‘should-nots’ – Holding yourself to a strict list of what you should and shouldn’t do and beating yourself up if you break any of the rules Labeling – Labeling yourself based on mistakes and perceived shortcomings. “I’m a failure; an idiot; a loser.” Personalization – Assuming responsibility for things that are outside your control. “It’s my fault my son got in an accident. I should have warned him to drive carefully in the rain.” Worry and anxiety self-help tip #4: Accept uncertainty The inability to tolerate uncertainty plays a huge role in anxiety and worry. Chronic worriers can’t stand doubt or unpredictability. They need to know with 100 percent certainty what’s going to happen. Worrying is seen as a way to predict what the future has in store—a way to prevent unpleasant surprises and control the outcome. The problem is, it doesn’t work. Thinking about all the things that could go wrong doesn’t make life any more predictable. You may feel safer when you’re worrying, but it’s just an illusion. Focusing on worst-case scenarios won’t keep bad things from happening. It will only keep you from enjoying the good things you have in the present. So if you want to stop worrying, start by tackling your need for certainty and immediate answers. Challenging intolerance of uncertainty: The key to anxiety relief Ask yourself the following questions and write down your responses. See if you can come to an understanding of the disadvantages and problems of being intolerant of uncertainty. Is it possible to be certain about everything in life? What are the advantages of requiring certainty, versus the disadvantages? Or, how is needing certainty in life helpful and unhelpful? Do you tend to predict bad things will happen just because they are uncertain? Is this a reasonable thing to do? What is the likelihood of positive or neutral outcomes? Is it possible to live with the small chance that something negative may happen, given its likelihood is very low? Adapted from: Accepting Uncertainty, Centre for Clinical Interventions Worry and anxiety self-help tip # 5: Be aware of how others affect you How you feel is affected by the company you keep, whether you’re aware of it or not. Studies show that emotions are contagious. We quickly “catch” moods from other people—even from strangers who never speak a word (e.g. The terrified woman sitting by you on the plane; the fuming man in the checkout line). The people you spend a lot of time with have an even greater impact on your mental state. Keep a worry diary. You may not be aware of how people or situations are affecting you. Maybe this is the way it’s always been in your family, or you’ve been dealing with the stress so long that it feels normal. Try keeping a worry diary for a week or so. Every time you start to worry, jot down the thought and what triggered it. Over time, you’ll start to see patterns. Spend less time with people who make you anxious. Is there someone in your life who drags you down or always seems to leave you feeling stressed? Think about cutting back on the time you spend with that person or establish healthier relationship boundaries. For example, you might set certain topics off-limits, if you know that talking about them with that person makes you anxious. Choose your confidantes carefully. Know who to talk to about situations that make you anxious. Some people will help you gain perspective, while others will feed into your worries, doubts, and fears. Worry and anxiety self-help tip #6: Practice mindfulness Man meditating Worrying is usually focused on the future—on what might happen and what you’ll do about it. The centuries-old practice of mindfulness can help you break free of your worries by bringing your attention back to the present. In contrast to the previous techniques of challenging your anxious thoughts or postponing them to a worry period, this strategy is based on observing and then letting them go. Together, they can help you identify where your thinking is causing problems, while helping you get in touch with your emotions. Acknowledge and observe your anxious thoughts and feelings. Don’t try to ignore, fight, or control them like you usually would. Instead, simply observe them as if from an outsider’s perspective, without reacting or judging. Let your worries go. Notice that when you don’t try to control the anxious thoughts that pop up, they soon pass, like clouds moving across the sky. It’s only when you engage your worries that you get stuck. Stay focused on the present. Pay attention to the way your body feels, the rhythm of your breathing, your ever-changing emotions, and the thoughts that drift across your mind. If you find yourself getting stuck on a particular thought, bring your attention back to the present moment. Using mindfulness meditation to stay focused on the present is a simple concept, but it takes practice to reap the benefits. At first, you’ll probably find that your mind keeps wandering back to your worries. Try not to get frustrated. Each time you draw your focus back to the present, you’re reinforcing a new mental habit that will help you break free of the negative worry cycle. I hope this helps. Take care

To control or maintan BP normal there are some instructions are given below: •Do not take salt in high amount or try to avoid it because high sodium level increase BP. • Eat less amount of pickle and fast food, fast food contain high sodium. • Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking. • Take less amount of coffee and tea both increase BP. • Drink 8 to 10 glass of water daily. • Do exercise daily, running and long walk. • Take 6 to 8 hrs of sleep daily. Do not take too much stress. • Do long breathing pranayams daily for 10 - 15 minutes. It will reduce your stress level in your body. • Avoid taking too much fat foods such as butter, cheese, ghee. • Eat healthy diet such as green leafy vegetables, fruits. Eat an apple daily.

Hi, I m civil engineer. Spend most of the time walking around the site. Despite my physical work my triglyceride levels are higher than normal(173). I m strictly vegetarian and no to smoke, alcohol. Suggest my diet please.

Hello, Here are tips to help you choose calories well and lower your triglycerides :- Reduce saturated fats and trans fats :- These are the fats commonly found in animal products, fast foods, commercially baked goods, and other packaged foods. Use healthy mono- and polyunsaturated fats :- These are found in olive oil or canola oil for cooking. Get most of your calories from fruits, vegetables, and non-fat or low-fat dairy products. Avoid added and refined sugars. Make sure you have plenty of fiber in your diet. Whole-grain products add fiber and help you avoid overeating because they fill you up. Limit your total dietary cholesterol to 200 mg per day. A heart-healthy diet to lower triglycerides includes lowering sugar, lowering fat, and limiting alcohol. However, if you have a very high triglycerides or a combination of high triglycerides and low HDL (good) cholesterol or high LDL (bad) cholesterol, you may need medication along with diet to lower triglycerides. Your doctor can help you determine if you need to be taking medication in addition to your diet changes.

Mr. lybrate-user, Looking at your weight and height it is clear that you have grade 1 obesity with a BMI of 30.5 kgs/M2. Your ideal body weight should be closer to 65 kgs, hence, carrying an extra weight of 25 kgs. This itself can be a major reason for various problems. Plus if uric acid is hige (above 7 mg/100 ml), then that to may contribute to joint pains. You may have avoid high purine containing foods like red meat, organ meats, certain fishes like sardines, salmon, scallops, herrings, haddock and mushrooms and mussels. Also alcohol and aerated drinks need to be avoided. Thanks.

Vsd is by birth, a congenital anomaly, not genetic or aquired. When there is a hole between 2 chambers of lower heart which pump the blood to entire body & to lungs for purification with fresh oxygen, the pumping action of heart will be affected for sure. Luckily the defect can be corrected but not during pregnancy. Depends upon symptoms. Avoid extra load on heart by rest, avoid swelling on body by reducing salt, eat more proteins to help baby grow faster & do operation to deliver the baby according to symptoms shown by mother about her heart being affected or not, she can carry the baby to full term at 36 weeks or an early delivery needs to be planned. But vsd is not inherited. Be sure to have a normal baby.

On my lipid profile check, it is revealed that I have total cholestrol level at 296. However, triglyceride is 144 within limits. Sugar level fasting-86 and pp-104 that also is within specified limit. All other parameters are ok. Please suggest me to deal with high cholestrol to bring this down. Further, I sometimes feel pressure on left side of chest above heart. Please advise me in right way.

High cholesterol can cause atherosclerotic heart disease or narrowed coronary arteries in the heart can cause the symptoms of angina, when theheart muscle is not provided with enough oxygen to function. Decreased blood supply to the brain may be due to narrowed small arteries in the brain or because the larger carotidarteries in the neck may become blocked. This can result in a transient ischmic attack or stroke. Peripheral artery disease describes gradual narrowing of the arteries that supply the legs. During exercise , if the legs do not get enough blood supply, they can develop pain , called claudication . Other arteries in the body may also be affected by plaque buildup causing them to narrow, including the mesenteric arteries to the intestine and the renal arteries to the kidney. Avoid fast foods,oily foods,junk foods,alcohol,smoking,fatty foods, non-veg.,avoid stress, take omega-3 fatty meal or cap., take .green veg., whole grain.garlic,. Take anti cholesterol medicines .

Dengvaxia - first vaccine against dengue

Indications / uses

Dengvaxia is a vaccine used to help protect adult or children against dengue disease caused by dengue virus serotypes 1, 2, 3 and 4. Dengvaxia is given to adults, adolescents and children 9 through 45 years of age living in endemic areas.

Dosage / direction for use

The patient will receive 3 injections of 0.5 ml each at 6-month intervals.

The first injection will occur at the chosen or scheduled date; the second injection, 6 months after the first injection; and the third injection, 6 months after the second injection. Dengvaxia should be used according to the local vaccination schedule.

If the patient forgot an injection of dengvaxia: if the patient missed a scheduled injection, the physician will decide when to give the missed injection.

It is important that the patient follows the instructions of the physician, pharmacist or nurse regarding return visits for the follow-up injection. If the patient forgets or is not able to go back to the physician, pharmacist or nurse at the scheduled time, ask the physician, pharmacist or nurse for advice.

Administration: dengvaxia is given by the physician or nurse as an injection underneath the skin (subcutaneous route) in the upper arm.

Contraindications

Do not use dengvaxia if the patient is allergic (hypertensive) to the active substances or any of the other ingredients of dengvaxia listed in description (see description); has developed an allergic reaction after prior administration of dengvaxia. Signs of an allergic reaction may include an itchy rash, shortness of breath and swelling of the face and tongue; is suffering from a disease with mild to high fever or acute disease. In this case, the physician will postpone the administration of dengvaxia until the patient has recovered; has a weakened immune system, for example due to a genetic defect, hiv infection or therapies that affect the immune system (for example, high-dose corticosteroids or chemotherapy); is pregnant; is breastfeeding.

Use in pregnancy lactation: dengvaxia must not be given to pregnant or breastfeeding women.

If the patient is of child-bearing stage, the patient should take the necessary precautions to avoid pregnancy for 1 month following administration of dengvaxia; is pregnant or breastfeeding, the patient thinks may be pregnant or is planning to have a baby, ask the physician, pharmacist or nurse for advice before receiving dengvaxia.

Special precautions

Inform the physician, pharmacist or nurse before receiving dengvaxia if the patient is taking an immunosuppressive treatment (prednisone or equivalent to 20 mg or 2 mg/kg for 2 weeks or more). The physician will postpone administration of dengvaxia until 4 weeks after the treatment is discontinued; has experienced any health problems after prior administration of any vaccines. The physician will carefully consider the risks and benefits of vaccination.

As with all vaccines, dengvaxia may not protect 100% of persons who have been vaccinated. Vaccination with dengvaxia is not a substitute for protection against mosquito bites. The patient should take appropriate precautions to prevent mosquito bites, including the use of repellents, adequate clothing, and mosquito nets.

Fainting, sometimes accompanied by falling, can occur (mostly in adolescents) following, or even before, any injection with a needle. Therefore inform the physician, pharmacist or nurse if the patient fainted with a prior injection.

Adults above 45 years of age: adults above 45 years of age should not receive the vaccine.

Driving and using machines: no data are available on the effects of dengvaxia on the ability to drive or use machines.

Use in children: children less than 9 years of age should not receive the vaccine.

Side effects

Like all medicines, dengvaxia can cause side effects, although not all patients get them.

Serious allergic reactions: if any of these symptoms occur after leaving the place where the patient received an injection, consult a physician immediately: difficulty in breathing, blueness of the tongue or lips, a rash, swelling of the face or throat, low blood pressure causing dizziness or collapse.

When these signs and symptoms occur they usually develop quickly after the injection is given and while the patient is still in clinic or physician's surgery.

Serious allergic reactions are very rare (may affect up to 1 in 10, 000 people), after receiving any vaccine.

Other side effects: the following side effects were reported during clinical studies in children, adolescents and adults (from 9 to and including 60 years of age). Most of the reported side effects occurred within 3 days after the injection of the vaccine: very common (may affect more than 1 user in 10): headache, muscle pain (myalgia), generally feeling unwell (malaise), feeling of weakness (asthenia), injection site pain, fever.

Common (may affect up to 1 user in 10): injection site reactions: redness (erythema), bruising (hematoma), swelling, and itching (pruritus).

Uncommon (may affect up to 1 user in 100): infections of the upper respiratory tract, dizziness, sore throat (oropharyngeal pain), cough, runny nose (rhinorrhea), nausea, skin eruption (rash), neck pain, hardening of skin at the injection site (injection site induration).

Additional side effects in adults (from 18 to and including 60 years of age): uncommon (may affect up to 1 user in 100): swollen glands (lymphadenopathy), migraine, joint pain (arthralgia), flu-like symptoms (influenza-like illness).

Additional side effects in children and adolescents (from 9 to and including 17 years of age: uncommon (may affect up to 1 user in 100): itchy rash (urticaria).

Reporting of side effects or any suspected adverse event: if the patient experiences any side effects after vaccination, advised to seek immediate medical attention.

By reporting side effects, it can help provide more information on the safety of the vaccine.

Interactions

Using other medicines and dengvaxia: dengvaxia may not have an optimal effect if it used at the same time as medicines that suppress the immune system such as corticosteroids or chemotherapy.

Inform the physician, pharmacist or nurse if the patient is taking or has recently taken any other vaccines or any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.

Caution for usage

Before administering any biological, the person responsible for administration must take all precautions to prevent allergic or other reactions. As with all injectable vaccines, appropriate medical treatment and supervision must always be readily available in the event of an anaphylactic reaction following the administration of dengvaxia.

Epinephrine (1: 1000) and other appropriate agents used to control immediate allergic reactions must be available to treat unexpected events such as anaphylaxis.

Dengvaxia must not be mixed with other medicinal products in the same syringe.

Dengvaxia must not be administered by intravascular injection under any circumstances.

Syncope (fainting) can occur following, or even before, any vaccination as a psychogenic response to injection with a needle. Procedures should be in place to prevent injury from falling and to manage syncopal reactions.

Separate syringes and needles, separate injection sites and preferably separate limbs must be used if any other vaccine (s) or medicinal product (s) is/are concomitantly administered.

Dengvaxia is reconstituted by transferring all the solvent (0.4% sodium chloride solution) provided in the blue-labeled pre-filled syringe into the vial of freeze dried powder with a yellowish green flip off cap. The pre-filled syringe is fitted with a sterile needle for this transfer. The vial is then gently swirled. After complete dissolution, a 0.5 ml dose of reconstituted suspension is withdrawn into the same syringe. For injection, the syringe should be fitted with the new sterile needle.

The suspension should be visually inspected prior to administration. After reconstitution, dengvaxia is clear, colorless liquid with the possible presence of white to translucent particles (of endogenous nature).

After reconstitution with the solvent provided, dengvaxia must be used immediately.

Any unused dengvaxia or waste material should be disposed of, preferably by heat inactivation or incineration, in accordance with local regulations.

Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste. Ask a pharmacist on how to throw away medicines that no longer use. These measures will help to protect the environment.

Storage

Store in a refrigerator. Do not freeze. Keep the vaccine in the outer carton in order to protect it from light.

Description

After reconstitution, one dose (0.5 ml) contains 4.5-6.0 log10 ccid50* of each serotype of the cyd dengue virus** (1, 2, 3 and 4).

The powder is a white, homogenous, freeze-dried powder with possible retraction at the base, and may form a ring-shaped cake.

The solvent (0.4% sodium chloride solution) is a clear, colorless liquid.

After reconstitution with the solvent provided, dengvaxia is a clear, colorless liquid with the possible presence of white to translucent particles.

Excipients/inactive ingredients: essential amino acids including l-phenylalanine, non-essential amino acids, l-arginine hydrochloride, sucrose, d-trehalose dihydrate, d-sorbitol, trometamol, urea, sodium chloride, water for injections.

Mechanism of action

Dengvaxia contains dengue virus serotypes 1, 2, 3 and 4 that have been weakened. Dengvaxia works by stimulating the body's natural defenses (immune system), which produces its own protection (antibodies) against the viruses that cause dengue disease.

Dengue is a viral infection transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected aedes mosquito. Dengue is not transmitted directly from person-to-person. Nevertheless the virus which replicates in an infected individual can be transmitted to other humans through mosquito bites for 4-5 days (maximum 12 days) after the first symptoms appear.

Dengue disease results in a wide range of symptoms including fever, headache, pain behind the eyes, muscle and joint pain, nausea, vomiting, swollen glands or skin rash. Symptoms usually last for 2-7 days. Dengue disease can also be asymptomatic.

However, occasionally dengue can be severe and potentially lead to hospitalization and in rare cases to death. Severe dengue is characterized by high fever and any of the following symptoms: severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, rapid breathing, severe bleeding, bleeding in stomach, bleeding gums, fatigue, restlessness, coma, seizure and organ failure.

As per the last medical test done as per my company policy, my Cholesterol is 203.28, Triglycerides is 285.99, HDL is 37.2, LDL is 125.22, Cholesterol - VLDL is 40.86. It seems these are on a higher side. While some have advised medications, I do not want to be under continued medication but willing to do some lifestyle changes and exercise regime. Kindly advise.

Rt. You are over wt bmi being apprx 26. Lipid profile needs to be improved, you can try following life style changes for 3 months, and then rpt the test avoid alcohol. Reduce body wt, stop smoking, diet- no ghee, butter, potato, rice, sugar, no fast food, more fruits and vegetable, dry fruits, daily min 35 mts brisk walk daily 365 days. Intimate progress after 1 month.
