I am 35 years old male. My lipid profile is as below. Total cholesterol 280 mg/dL, Triglycerides 182 mg/dL, HDL 43 mg/dL, LDL 201 mg/dL, VLDL 37 mg/dL . Please suggest whether I need to take medicines or just doing workouts like regular jogging early morning along with diet control will reduce my LDL levels.

Dear lybrate user, cholesterol is naturally produced inside the body of every living animal. Human beings are no exception to that. But when we take mutton, chicken, yellow part of a boiled egg, ghee, butter etc we intake cholesterol from external source. This extra cholesterol from external sources increase the total cholesterol content of human body. You should always keep your cholesterol level within normal limits as high cholesterol serves as a precursor to various cardiac diseases. Avoid the aforesaid food. Walk at least 1 hour in a day without any interval. Also you can take homoeopathic mother tincture fucus vesiculosus q, 30 drops, thrice daily, after meals, in a cup of water.

Hello, first of all you should know what is backache and by which factors it caused and aggravated. The usual cause of low back pain is the sedentary lifestyle that we lead these days. There is hardly any movement. walking, running and cycling like activities are also not a part of our daily routine. To add to it, our diet consists more and more of junk food. Fresh fruits, vegetables and high fibre foods are consumed less and less. These daily practices lead to obesity. The increased body weight puts lot of pressure on the spine which has to bear all the extra unwanted weight. The back muscles which are already weak due to lack of exercise and wrong posture are unable to cope with this increased load. This causes pain in the back muscles. Management for Back Pain:-Along with medicines for relieving pain, one needs to identify the cause and correct it. This may require some medicines or some correction in your posture or reducing weight or improving your lifestyle. At the same time, there is a need to work on the local muscle strengthening. Back muscles need to be strengthened so that they can bear the weight of the upper body. For this exercises of the back muscles are very helpful. Regular walking is also very helpful as it is a wholesome exercise of the body, improves blood circulation and helps lose weight. Most importantly if you are overweight then losing weight is an important part of the whole treatment plan .Long term use of painkillers for low back pain is harmful Treatment for back pain:- Homoeopathic medicines are very helpful. They not only treat the acute stages but are also used for the treatment of chronic back pain.Selection of the exact remedy depends upon the individual symptoms of the person.So share the complete symptom picture for the proper treatment. It is a myth you should get your ultrasound and some hormonal tests to know the severity of the disease. Otherwise many more complications will appear.

I think that you have a strong, and may be a rigid conscience that can torment you if you do not comply with expectations. You must have picked it up from a home where values were respected and perhaps enforced. Now, while this is good and makes a very reliable person, its rigidity is its problem. You must learn to relax and accept that some things are not going to happen as they would be expected to, and that is okay. You must learn to become flexible and adapt quickly when things don't go as per expectations. We can be rigid with machines and to some extent even with animals but to be so tight about human beings is trying to put all of them into a straightjacket. You will only confine yourself and limit your growth by these restrictions.

Dear Venkatesh.. Chicken and meat contain Complete protein which is essential for human nutrition.We know that Protein is body builder which makes you muscular. Yes protein and fat plays important role for weight gain. According to Indian council of Medical Research (ICMR 2010) 1gm protein/kg body weight is recommended that means you need 59 gm dietary protein. Fish, Meat, Egg, Milk & Milk products are animal source of protein which gives you all essential amino acids but Legumes , Pulses are incomplete protein. Add Fish or chicken in your daily diet. Or you can add milk or milk product in your daily diet. Thanks..

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Neck pain can be due to some degenerative changes taking place in her neck region. I can dvise her to do: - isometric neck exercises - hot water fomentation at home 3-4 times/day - local analgesic spray application 2-3 times in a day - take adequate calcium and vitamin d supplementation if it does not improve in 2-3 weeks time, then we will have to get x ray cervical spine ap and lateral views and then you can send it across to me. As far as swellings go, usually they can be lipomas as found in a lot of people but get yourself checked up a general surgeon to rule out other swellings. Take low calorie n low sodium n high protein food. Walk regularly. Don't take rice at night. 4-5 meals in a day in a frequent intervals. Take 1 glass of lukewarm water with 1 tsp of alsi powder in the mrng n go for walk.
