I am having premature ejaculation problem. I am not able to perform more than 30 sec. But I want to put myself away from sex and masturbation. Because after one year I am going to marry. So my question is should I need to do any medical treatment for it in the meanwhile of my marriage or I will be automatically come out from this type of problem if I will not do any sexual activity in one year. Please suggest me.

Can eating chicken and mutton cure chikungunya pain or what should we eat to cure pain.

MBBS
General Physician, Mumbai
Can eating chicken and mutton cure chikungunya pain or what should we eat to cure pain.
Chikangunya does not get cured by eating mutton or chicken. It is a viral infection which causes fever for few days and is followed by joint pains which may last for couple of weeks to many months. There is no specific treatment for it. You can only take pain killers but that too for a short time and only under doctor's advice and supervision.

Ear Pain - Can it Be a Sign of Infection?

MS - ENT
ENT Specialist, Nagpur
Ear Pain - Can it Be a Sign of Infection?

Ear infection is a disorder which can either be viral or bacterial, affecting one’s middle ear the most. This disorder is painful as fluid accumulates in the ear leading to inflammation. Infections of the ear can either be chronic or acute in nature, the damage is more prominent in case of chronic infections. Acute ear infections can be painful but they usually fade away in a few days’ time.

Symptoms
In case of an ear infection, you will experience pain in the ear. A pressure may develop in the ear accompanied by drainage of pus from the ears. Some severe cases might also lead to loss of hearing, be it temporary or permanent. The symptoms of ear infection may develop and affect both the ears. Fever during ear infections is another common auxiliary condition.

Causes
Ear infections tend to occur when the Eustachian tubes in the ear get blocked as a result of fluid accumulation in the ear. The Eustachian tubes can get blocked due to the following reasons –

  1. Being affected by allergies
  2. Conditions such as cold can lead to ear infection
  3. Problems in the sinuses
  4. Excessive smoking
  5. Infected adenoid glands

In addition to the causes, there are certain risk factors which can make one prone to ear infections, some of them being:

  1. Narrow Eustachian tubes in children increase the risks of ear infections
  2. Changes in climate and altitude
  3. Second hand exposure to cigarette smoke

Treatment
For mild symptoms, simple home remedies will suffice. A warm compress on the affected area can reduce the pain. Taking pain relieving medications such as ibuprofen can also help in reducing pain. For moderate symptoms, antibiotics may be required to treat the bacterial infection.
If other treatments do not work, then surgery may be required. Usually tubes are inserted in the ear to drain the accumulated fluid. If it involves the adenoid glands, then surgical removal of the adenoid glands may be required. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult an ent-specialist.

My son age 35 years is on treatment since age 16 years for Bipolar Disorder. Kindly enlighten me on prognosis of this disease. Should he enter into matrimony again? He has had divorce from his first marriage. He is keen on getting re-married and loves children.

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
I am sorry to say that matrimony will actually disturb your son and his wife to be, if he continues to suffer from bipolar. His first task is to cooperate and resolve his condition to become a complete person again. He will also need to work on the break down of his first marriage and resolve those matters. The prognosis is good if he stays in treatment with medicines and therapy. It is the combination that works ideally. He should be episode-free for at least three years, functional, responsible, respectful and independent. There are three important qualities for an autonomous personality: Awareness, spontaneity, and intimacy. If he develops all of these in healthy proportions, he can be given a clean bill of health. Even if he loves children, he cannot be responsible with them if he is not responsible with his own life. You can probably use that as an incentive to recover. That indeed will drive him to be committed to his well being.

What you are noticing is the pre-ejaculation fluid coming out of your penis, which in slang terms is sometimes called pre-cum. When you are feeling romantic, whether talking on the telephone or even just holding hands with your girlfriend, your body doesn't know if those romantic feelings are going to lead to sexual intercourse or not. Obviously it should not until you are married, but your body doesn't know that. All it notices is that your are sexually aroused
