That is patent foramen ovale left to right. Is this normal ? Then we show report doctor he said that hole is very minor it will close within 3 months. Is it true that it will close automatically after some months. Please suggest me in detail.

Yes some tiny holes do close on its own as the baby grows but you have to be extra careful in observation of blue color on exertion like crying, not getting infections, getting vaccinations on time (this has to be observed for every new born baby up to a year- 1st summer/winter & autum is difficult for every baby) good luck and take care.

From heart point of view, using which oil (rice brine, mustard, refined sunflower, refined soybean) is the safest while cooking food? Moreover, does using single toned milk make a huge difference than double toned milk?

I am a 27 year old, healthy (enough) male who has been getting intermittent, irregular and infrequent chest pains on and off for around 10 years.  During an'attack' the pain can be quite severe and sharp - I guess a bit like being stabbed. The pain is localised to the left side of my sternum and feels fairly deep (i. E. It cannot be palpated).  Attacks can last anywhere from a few seconds to a day or so, and tend to come in'clusters' that can be present for up to a week. There can be months between each cluster of attacks (if you get my drift!). Pain can sometimes be exacerbated when leaning forward, coughing, lying on my side or raising an arm (seems to always vary - and can sometimes not have any stimulates). During a'cluster' period and between attacks I can often feel a mild, underlying ache in my chest. This is easy enough to ignore however. I have had ECGs and chest xray that have all been fine, and am not affected at all during exercise - I can happily go out and run 10k with ease. Doctors have in the past ruled out gastro reflux as there was no tenderness on palpation of my stomach area, although I have sometimes thought that attack can follow a big meal and be accompanied by burping (although this may be my mind tricking me).  musculoskeletal problems have been mentioned, but why would attacks come in clusters and seemingly out of the blue?

There is sterno costal joint where a rib joins sternum. There could be arthritis of the joint. Arthritis presents normal x ray, normal ecg. Test to determine arthritis is check for tenderness. Press the joint with single finger. If it pains with medium pressure, it's arthritis. Another test is to take aspirin 2 tabs of 500 g three times a day for 3 days after food and with ranitidine, pain disappears. See an orthopedic doctor for full treatment.

Yes they have correlation to some extent but they are basically two separate things. And both have to be delt with separately. High LDL high cholesterol put you on a higher risk of atherosclerotic diseases and heart attacks especially if you have other is factors including hypertension diabetes or a history of smoking so I would advise you to continue blood pressure medication and to start taking statins which are cholesterol medications the dose of which depends upon your cholesterol levels also you need to start changing your dietary habits and include a regular physical exercise at least 45 minutes a day 5 days a week into your schedule nonetheless you have to stop taking fatty and junk food Once your cholesterol and blood pressure are well controlled and your lifestyle routine is set. You can slowly tapper and stop these medications good luck.

I'm on insulin - human mixtard 30/70 - 18 points in the morning before food and 10 points in the night after food. Once I was a heavy drinker. Now I drink whisky once in a while. Is it safe?

No I am afraid not drinking is not good for diabetic patients and you must avoid it as much as you can rather I would say just let it go off if you ever want to be off insulin on to oral medications.

I'm 28. I have high bp 135 /88. Seems I have hight bp. Should I use medicine from now or can I control it naturally?
It is slight on higher side, it may cause breathlessness, tiredness after walking, going upstairs. If you didn't developed any problem then try to control it naturally like reducing salt, oily fatty food etc. But I would advise to once consult doctor and get your lipid profile (cholesterol) done along with short course of medicine.

Foods That Help You Maintain Healthy Heart

Foods That Help You Maintain Healthy Heart

Here is a list of foods that keeps your heart healthy:

Salmon: omega-3 fatty acids are very important for your heart to function optimally. Fishes such as salmon and sardines are rich in omega-3 fatty acids which lower the risk of heart diseases such as arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat) and atherosclerosis (accumulation of plaque in the arterial walls).

Oats: like oats and milk for breakfast? congratulations! you are in luck; oatmeal has soluble fibers which help in lowering bad cholesterol levels. Just make sure that there is no added sugar in your oatmeal, as it will defeat the entire purpose.

Blueberries: blueberries are rich in antioxidants that reduce the risks of heart attack and also decrease your blood pressure. So go ahead! toss some blueberries in your oatmeal to get your daily dose of antioxidants which are such pre-requisites for supreme health.

Dark chocolate: this will probably bring a smile to your lips. Dark chocolates contain polyphenols, a type of flavonoid, which is very good for your heart. Dark chocolate is known to reduce the risks of strokes and heart attacks. Watch the portion size as no matter what its benefits are, dark chocolates are still rich in calories.

Citrus fruits: citrus fruits such as lemons and indian gooseberry are rich in compounds that lower cholesterol levels in the body. Tip start your day with a lemon juice and warm water. This betters your metabolism and also keeps your heart in fine shape.

Soy: lo behold vegetarians! (and non-vegetarians as well). Soy is a protein rich food that is so good for your heart. It also contains heart-healthy fats and fibers that help bring down and normalize cholesterol levels.

Tomatoes: tomatoes are rich in an antioxidant called lycopene, which is very effective in getting rid of bad cholesterol. It thus helps in keeping your arteries healthy and reduces the risks of heart attacks.

Nuts: nuts such as almonds and walnuts are rich in vitamin e which helps in lowering bad cholesterol in the body. Avoid nuts that come with added salt.
