You can start with liquid diet for example - cooked mashed dal, mashed rice, soup, fruit juices, milk preparations with Carrot, semolina, sago, rice, guard, vermicelli, fruit smoothies, slowly to semi solid like khichadi, pongal, upma, poha, to idli dosa, rice dal, chappati etc.

My baby poop contains little gum. It's also green. Please tell me what is the reason?

My baby poop contains little gum. It's also green. Please tell me what is the reason?
Green poop is indicative of acidic stools, and can also mean infection. Some babies on formula feed can have this kind of poop. Please provide more info on what food/milk your baby is eating, or if there has been a recent change in eating habits.

Hi, My son is 2.8 years old and weight 12 kgs. He doesn't eat at all. Not even chocolates, ice cream and such eatables. Many times he vomits his food. His doctor says its just due to gas. But he has not gained weight from few months. He looks very thin. Can I give him pediasure?

You need to train baby to accept solid food. Dietary discpline is important & never succumb to undue demands , never offer him replacements of a home made wholesome diet. Have patience he will take normal diet as hunger is bigger than tantrums.

Plz do not do anything, It will not hurt your baby. Umbilical hernia is very very innocent hernia. This could be operated when it hurts or just for cosmetic reson.

My baby girl is 4 months old. From past 4 days she is having fever of 100 degree. Though she was urinating in every 1-2 hours but she was urinating very less. So we consulted a doctor and he prescribed medicines such as Pro wel, apex-p and ofloaxin since she was passing out green stools from past few days. We also undergo a urine test and it is found to be normal. What my concern is from past few days she is drinking very less breast milk. She sucks for only 30 secs to one minute and then she refuses to take it even after burping. She screams when she looks at my breast I tried feeding her through spoon and she is ok with it but not with sucking Can you please help since manual extraction of milk is a time consuming and difficult process.

MD - Paediatrics
Pediatrician, Kolkata
Breast milk production and secretion is mostly depend on overall wellbeing and mental status of mother. First of all you need to relax and try to take adequate rest. Do any relaxation technology which is suitable for you. Drink plenty of water and take half to one glass of water 15 minutes before feeding. As your baby is sick and passing loose stool she might be thirsty but easily fatigued. So she needs frequent feeding.

There is nothing to give quick rise. Growing takes its own time provided good balanced nourishing diet is given. Your baby is under wt. Add oily stuff in his diet.
