I have one problem when I eat food then its not properly digest ehat should I do.

MD - General Medicine
Internal Medicine Specialist, Noida
I have one problem when I eat food then its not properly digest ehat should I do.
Undigested food in your digestive tract typically causes diarrhea. A high concentration of unabsorbed nutrients in your intestines prompts an influx of water, leading to diarrhea. You may experience cramps and abdominal pain associated with the diarrhea. If you are having difficulty digesting fats, you may notice your stools float in the commode water and have a greasy appearance. Chronic diarrhea is the most common symptom of malabsorption. Bloating and gas most food digestion and absorption occurs in your small bowel. Under normal circumstances, the fecal material that reaches your large bowel, or colon, has a low concentration of undigested food. With malabsorption, however, large amounts of undigested carbohydrates, fats and/or proteins are transported to your colon. The normal bacteria there feed on the undigested nutrients, releasing gases that cause abdominal bloating and increased passage of gas from your rectum. The overabundance of water in your bowels adds to the bloating you experience with malabsorption. Kindly do an stool routine and microscopic examination and meet a gastroenterologist to come to a final diagnosis.

Obesity - Can It Lead to Diabetes?

MBBS, CCEBDM
Diabetologist, Bangalore
Obesity - Can It Lead to Diabetes?

Diabetes is a complex group of diseases with a variety of causes. People with diabetes have high blood glucose, also called high blood sugar or hyperglycemia.

Diabetes is a disorder of metabolism, the way the body uses digested food for energy. The digestive tract breaks down carbohydrates, sugars and starches found in many foods, into glucose, a form of sugar that enters the bloodstream. Diabetes develops when the body doesn't make enough insulin or is not able to use insulin effectively, or both.

The two main types of diabetes are:

Type 1 Diabetes: Type 1 diabetes typically occurs in children and young adults, though it can appear at any age. In the past, type 1 diabetes was called juvenile diabetes or insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus.

Heredity plays an important part in determining who is likely to develop type 1 diabetes. Genes are passed down from biological parent to child.

Type 2 Diabetes: Type 2 diabetes develops most often in middle-aged and older people who are also overweight or obese. The disease, once rare in youth, is becoming more common in overweight and obese children and adolescents. Type 2 diabetes is caused by a combination of factors, including insulin resistance, a condition in which the body's muscle, fat, and liver cells do not use insulin effectively.

Physical Inactivity, Obesity, and Diabetes: Physical inactivity and obesity are strongly associated with the development of type 2 diabetes. People who are genetically susceptible to type 2 diabetes are more vulnerable when these risk factors are present. About 80 percent of people with type 2 diabetes are overweight or obese.

An imbalance between caloric intake and physical activity can lead to obesity, which causes insulin resistance and is common in people with type 2 diabetes. Central obesity, in which a person has excess abdominal fat, is a major risk factor not only for insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes but also for heart and blood vessel disease, also called cardiovascular diseases (CVD). This excess belly fat produces hormones and other substances that can cause harmful, chronic effects in the body such as damage to blood vessels.

So, measuring your waist is a quick way of assessing your diabetes risk. This is a measure of abdominal obesity, which is a particularly high-risk form of obesity. Women have a higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes if their waist measures 80cm (31.5 inches) or more. Asian men with a waist size of 89cm (35 inches) or more have a higher risk, as do white or black men with a waist size of 94cm (37 inches) or more.

Simple Steps to Lower Your Risk: Making a few lifestyle changes can dramatically lower the chances of developing type 2 diabetes. The same changes can also lower the chances of developing heart disease and other life taking cancers.

  1. Control Your Weight: Being overweight increases the chances of developing type 2 diabetes seven-fold. Being obese makes you 20 to 40 times more likely to develop diabetes than someone with a healthy weight. Losing weight can help if your weight is above the healthy-weight range. Check your BMI. Losing 7 to 10 percent of your current weight can cut your chances of developing type 2 diabetes in half.
  2. Get Moving and Turn Off the Television: Inactivity promotes type 2 diabetes. Working your muscles more often and making them work harder improves their ability to use insulin and absorb glucose. This puts less stress on your insulin-making cells.
  3. Tune Up Your Diet: Four dietary changes can have a big impact on the risk of type 2 diabetes-

Choose whole grains and wholegrain products over highly processed carbohydrates.

  • Skip the sugary drinks, and choose water, coffee, or tea instead.
  • Choose good fats instead of bad fats.
  • Limit red meat and avoid processed meat; choose nuts, whole grains, poultry, or fish instead.

If you are already suffering from diabetes, then do take a walk everyday and adopt healthy eating habits. Along with that relieve your stress and take proper doses of insulin or medications as prescribed by your doctor. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor.

It all started when I was in engineering 2nd year (july 2015) when friends starts passing taunts on me. One after one incident happened in my life. And day by day I was getting depressed. The more I was getting depressed, the more I was consuming ganja (weed) and the number of taunts, comments (comments which took my imagination to my history which hurted me) were also increasing. And also under the consumption of ganja I was losing my imagination power by every time imagining something which I did not wanted to. It was all over depression, ganja, taunts, uncontrollable imagination. Than in Feb 2017, I started facing very heavy constant headache, heavy head, sometimes shortness of breath, depression, irritability, inability to sit somewhere etc. This all gone continuously for few months than I have to leave my college due to this mental health. In August, my parents took me to psychiatrist and I came under medications and counselling, it was somewhat a relief for me because my headache reduced and I was relaxed somewhat and because I was getting my health back I was happy and consumed ganja (weed) continuously for three days. 1st day of three days I discovered what panic attack is? In my life, than on second day I took it like its ok it happens sometime and had panic attack on that day too. But 3rd day was another worst day of my life when the magnitude of panic attack was so high that I felt I will die and went running to hospital & was admitted in emergency ward of hospital, having a pipe going through my nose to lungs so that I can breathe. It was a heavy panic attack. But all did not went right, I was continuously taking medicines so side effects started taking place like abdominal swelling, weight gain etc. So I changed my psychiatrist in january 2017 and started taking another psychiatrist medicine but under the medication of this psychiatrist, at evening time I felt like I was drunk or in nasha of something. But due to the degree of psychiatrist I trusted him and continued his medicines thinking 'jo hoga dekha jayega' but suddenly after 1 month a huge panic attack came again and I was on bed continuously for 3 days. Than again I have to go back to my old psychiatrist. He gave me medicine, I was getting relaxed and started feeling good but again those side effects of abdominal swelling and overweight started arising. So next I decided to go to delhi (october 2017 starting) and take the best psychiatrist medicine, and he prescribed me with some medicine (LURASIDONE 40 MG & ZAPIZ 0.25) .and now I am taking medicines but still those old symptoms of panic attacks, constant headache, heavy head, anxiety, depression, uncontrollable thinking, restlessness, sexual irritability etc is there... At last, I want to know if I turn my life to ayurveda or homeopathy will I be treated or not, or ayurveda and homeopathy does not have a root treatment to this or it will take more than 1 year to recover. And I want to ask will I be ever cured in my life? Will I be able to breathe like normal human being, will I be able to live my life normally? Will I get normal someday? .How much time will it take me to get my health back and live a healthy life? .Please tell me, answer me. I am really depressed with this. Every night before sleeping I think how will I live another day with this health?

What are the ways to grow tall and what kind of food we must intake to grow tall?

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
What are the ways to grow tall and what kind of food we must intake to grow tall?
Hi. As height can be gained till 21 yrs. Of age in males and 18 yrs. In females, so you do have 4 yrs. More to grow further! medication: start taking homoeopathic medicines which are safe to take without any side-effects - bakson's hite-aid and five phos. - both thrice daily and thuja 1m/ one dose once a week - take them for 4 months. Management: consume a balanced diet. A person will look a lot shorter when having a plump body. Not only that, being fit by eating right will make you taller and feel better! eat plenty of lean protein. Lean protein, such as white poultry meat, fish, soy, and dairy, helps promote muscle growth and healthy bones. Simple carbohydrates such as pizza, cakes, sweets, and soda, are the stuff to stay away from. Eat plenty of calcium. Calcium, found in leafy green vegetables such as spinach and kale, and in dairy (yogurt and milk), helps promote healthy bones. Get enough zinc. Studies, although they have been inconclusive so far, point to a possible link between zinc deficiencies and stunted growth in boys. Good sources of zinc include oysters, wheat germ, pumpkin and squash seeds, lamb, peanuts, and crab. Get enough vitamin d. Vitamin d promotes bone and muscle growth in children, and a deficiency has been shown to stunt growth and cause weight gain in teenage girls. Vitamin d can be found in fish, alfalfa, or mushrooms commonly. 60% to 80% of your height is determined by genes! apart from these: -exercise throughout the teen years and in puberty. Get out and about and work your muscles for at least 30 minutes each day. Join a gym, join a sports team, if nothing else, walk around. Do get indulge in stretch exercises, and sports like basketball, volleyball. -sleeping is the time when your body grows, get between 9 and 11 hours of sleep per night if you're a preteen or still younger than 20. -avoid any bad habit like smoking which affects the height, also avoid anabolic steroids which inhibit bone growth in young children and teens. Aa-always stand straight instead of hunching your back. (you can probably increase your height by a few inches with diet and lifestyle changes, especially if you are still in your teens or even your early 20s (for boys).) get back to me after 4 months for further guidance. All the best!
