Quit using tobacco

Advanced Aesthetics, MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, BDS

Quit using tobacco

It's horrible for your health overall and dental health specifically. Tobacco prematurely ages the mouth and leads to mouth cancers. Smoking tobacco stains teeth and interrupts calcium absorption in your body. Additionally masking the smell of smoke means using chewing gums or sweets high in sugar, or drinking tea and coffee, which are notorious for teeth decolorization.

Hello sir, my wife 29 and me 43 years old. Every time after end of her periods we did sex 4 to 5 days, My wife period end 3rd February. Tonight after sex she said pain inside vagina, why it's happened, please help, thank you.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
Hello sir, my wife 29 and me 43 years old. Every time after end of her periods we did sex 4 to 5 days, My wife period...
There are a number of causes that may contribute to pain after intercourse. Physical reasons, infections, growths, and emotional issues can all cause pain after sexSome of the main causes are- 1. Vaginal Dryness When women are aroused, your body naturally lubricates the inside of your vagina to prepare for male penetration. Sometimes, hormonal fluctuations can cause your vaginal dryness. At certain times during your normal menstrual cycle, your vagina may be drier than other times. Over-the-counter lubricants can help make sexual intercourse more comfortable. Having sex with a dry vagina (without using artificial lubricants) can be uncomfortable, and it may lead to pain after intercourse. Vaginal lubricants like Jellies can help resolve this issue.---2. Vaginismus – This is a sexual disorder that can make sex very painful. When woman has vaginismus, the muscles surrounding her vagina involuntarily tighten (spasm) in anticipation of penetration and can be triggered by emotional fear, stress, and anxiety. It can also have a physical cause, including scars in the vagina or infections. Sometimes, it has no cause. There are treatment options for women with this condition, though. Women with vaginismus have extreme pain during attempted penetrations. You may experience discomfort afterwards as well. 3. Yeast Infections – If you have a common yeast infection, your vagina will be red and inflamed after sex. You’ll also notice a stinging sensation, like your vagina is on fire, after you have intercourse. Having a yeast infection can make sex uncomfortable and even painful. Signs of a yeast infection include thick, clumpy and white discharge that looks like cottage cheese. You may also have pain or burning when you urinate or during sex. Sometimes, pain during and after sex is the only sign that you have a yeast infection. 4. Sexually Transmitted Diseases – Certain sexually transmitted diseases, such as Chlamydia and herpes, can cause painful intercourse and pain after sex. If you have Chlamydia, you may notice yellowish vaginal discharge; burning and itching in your vagina; redness, swelling, and soreness in your vulva; abnormal vaginal bleeding; and pain during and after sex. Painful sex can also be a sign of herpes, since the sores and lesions of herpes can grow inside the vagina or on the cervix. Other symptoms of herpes include vaginal discharge, a feeling of abdominal pressure, itching or burning sensation in your vagina. 5. Urinary Tract Infections – A urinary tract infection (UTI) is one of the most common causes of pain after sex. UTIs are not serious and can be easily treated with antibiotics. They are also very common. Having sex increases the risk of UTIs, since bacteria from your vaginal area can be massaged into your urethra. Symptoms of a urinary tract infection include a strong urge to pee; pain or burning when you urinate; and pain after having sex. 6. Ovarian Cysts – These are small, benign (non-cancerous) fluid-filled sacs that grow on your ovaries. Many ovarian cysts are harmless, but they can cause pain during and after sex. Ovarian cysts that twist or rupture can cause pain after sex, as well as sudden, severe pain that are accompanied by nausea and vomiting. 7. Uterine Fibroids – Painful sex, as well as discomfort after sex, may be the result of uterine fibroids, which are benign growths that develop inside the uterus. The most common symptom of fibroids is irregular menstrual bleeding. Women with fibroids may bleed between periods and have very heavy periods. Having sex can be uncomfortable or painful with fibroids if the affected fibroid is pushing against the nerves that affect sexual intercourse. 8. Endometriosis – Half of all women who have endometriosis experience intense pain during sex, and discomfort afterwards. Endometriosis is a reproductive disorder in which the tissue that lines the uterus grows in other parts of the body. During sex, women with this condition can experience sharp, stabbing pain. This pain can last for up to two days after having sex. 9. Vulvodynia – Some women experience chronic pain around the vulva (the opening of the vagina). This condition is called Vulvodynia. Having sex can be painful, and the discomfort can last after having intercourse. Doctors don’t know what causes this problem, but there are treatment options available. 10. Friction from Sexual Intercourse – Some women may experience pain after sex due to merely physical reasons. The friction from having sex irritated your vaginal tissues. You may need more lubrication during sex-So , my suggestion for you will be to wait for few more days and see if this pain is continuous or subsides within next 1-2 days as most of the time due to daily sex (This was your 5 th day) sometimes interest in sex diminishes leading to less or no secretion of vaginal discharge during penetration and hence causing pain in vagina after intercourse -So if your wife feels the same pain for next few days, then immediately consult a Gynecologist.

What are the symptoms of breast cancer and what is the minimum age of its occurring? How we can cure it? Is any lump in the breast could be cancerous?

DNB (Obstetrics and Gynecology), PGDHHM, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Delhi
Signs and symptoms of breast cancer include: A lump in the breast – the most common first sign The woman usually finds the lump. Sometimes the lump is seen on a screening mammogram before it can be felt. The lump is present all the time and does not get smaller or go away with the menstrual cycle. The lump may feel like it is attached to the skin or chest wall and cannot be moved. The lump may feel hard, irregular in shape and very different from the rest of the breast tissue. The lump may be tender, but it is usually not painful. Pain is more often a symptom of a non-cancerous (benign) condition, but should be checked by a doctor. A lump in the armpit (axilla) Sometimes small, hard lumps in the armpit may be a sign that breast cancer has spread to the lymph nodes. Although these lumps are often painless, they may be tender. Changes in breast shape or size Skin changes The skin of the breast may become dimpled or puckered. A thickening and dimpling of the skin is sometimes called orange peel skin, or peau d’orange. Redness, swelling and increased warmth (signs that look like an infection) may be a sign of inflammatory breast cancer. Itching of the breast or nipple may be a sign of inflammatory breast cancer. Itchiness is often not relieved by ointments, creams or other medications. Nipple changes Some people’s nipples are always pointed inward (inverted). Normal nipples that suddenly become inverted should be checked by a doctor. Discharge from the nipples can be caused by many conditions, most of which are non-cancerous (benign). Discharge from one nipple may be a sign of breast cancer, especially if it appears without squeezing the nipple (is spontaneous) and is blood-stained. It may occur in any age but mostly in the old ages.

Fight Obesity to Prevent Yourself Against Diabetes!

M.D, MBBS
Cosmetic Physician, Mumbai
Fight Obesity to Prevent Yourself Against Diabetes!

Obesity is a disorder which is characterized by accumulation of fat in the body resulting in various health problems. Diabetes is a metabolic disorder that occurs when the sugar in the blood does not get efficiently utilized by the body. This is due to the inability of the body to produce enough insulin to metabolize the sugar.

Diabetes is classified into two types, Type 1 diabetes wherein the body is unable to produce enough insulin and Type 2 wherein the body develops a resistance to insulin. Diabetes is known to cause diseases such as blindness and kidney problems. The risks of suffering from a stroke and other cardiovascular problems go up significantly if you have been diagnosed with diabetes.

Weight plays a big role in the development of Type 2 diabetes and so weight loss is recommended. Other factors such as stress, age, pregnancy and medications also contribute to this disorder. Usually, a majority of the people who have been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes are found to be overweight. Being obese makes it difficult for the body to utilize insulin effectively in order to metabolize blood sugar.

As obesity is closely linked with diabetes, it becomes essential to focus on weight loss as a preventive measure against diabetes.

  1. Try to exercise on a regular basis. Add cardiovascular exercises to your regimen such as running and swimming as they are very effective in burning fat from your body thus reducing the weight/fat.
  2. Lifting weights also promotes fat loss by boosting your Resting Metabolic Rate or Basal Metabolic Rate (the body’s rate of burning off calories while you are at rest).
  3. Follow a well- balanced diet that focuses on low carbohydrate and high protein based meals.

Apart from these lifestyle changes, focus can be brought on the following techniques also as effective means to shed off the excess fat:

  1. Ultrasonic liposuction: This technique involves using high energy sound waves to eliminate fat from your body. It is a non-invasive procedure that inflicts no trauma on the adjoining tissues in the body and thus providing better weight / inch loss..
  2. Mesotherapy: It is a non-surgical treatment that involves injecting medications into fat tissues. These medications target the adipose cells in the body and destroy them. This is a permanent procedure that is very effective in removing stubborn fat from the body and helping further in weight loss. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a cosmetic physician.

If she has had sex before and if the discharge is associated with itching or fowl smell then it is likely to be vaginal infection. Fas-3 kit aur clingen pessary will relive vaginal infection.

Women: Keep Your Lady Parts Healthy

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
Women: Keep Your Lady Parts Healthy (And Happy)

Every part of the body needs care in order for the entire body to work properly. And one of the most intimate parts on a woman?s body, should be no different. See some simple, but effective tips for vaginal health.

1. Wash with warm water only.
Maybe this may sound strange but PSA: your vagina hates soap! A healthy woman?s vagina stays quite clean on its own without the help of harsh chemicals and cleansers. Like many parts of the body, your vagina has a pH level that needs to be maintained. Soap and other cleansers such as douches or feminine sprays not only create an imbalance in your pH often causing the growth of unhealthy bacteria, they rid your lady parts of the good bacteria that helps you fight off infections! So ladies, lets not underestimate the power of H2O.
2. Stay EXTRA clean during your period.
Your chances of getting a vaginal infection increases when you are menstruating due to the blood and pH imbalance that comes because of it. When your time of the month comes make sure you are being even more cautious of your hygiene habits, especially when it comes to how long you are wearing sanitary items. Make sure you are changing your tampons and pads several times a day.
3. Wear cotton underwear.
Cotton underwear dries quickly and allows air to flow freely through the fabric. This prevents the development of damp conditions that promote the growth of yeast and unhealthy bacteria that might lead to an infection. Underwear made from synthetic fabrics, silk, lace or other materials doesn?t breathe as well. F you like wearing underwear made from fabrics other than cotton, make sure the section of the underwear that will be touching your vagina has a cotton liner.
4. Pee after sex.
At the very least, pee after sex, even if you intend on washing, too. When you have sex, unwanted bacteria can travel up the urethra, which is connected to your bladder. Peeing after sex can help flush the bacteria out of the vaginal area, promoting general health and helping you avoid UTIs.
5. Eat lots of fruit.
Cranberries, pineapples, strawberries and other fruits help to freshen the smell of the liquids secreted by the vagina. Eating fruits won?t make your vagina smell like a tropical island, but it can help you develop a more pleasant scent if that?s something you?re concerned about. Fruit also has a high water content, and staying hydrated helps flush the body of toxins that can lead to bad smells.

What the Colour of Your Urine Says About Your Health?

DM in Nephrology, MD in Internal Medicine, MBBS
Nephrologist, Ghaziabad
What the Colour of Your Urine Says About Your Health?

Changes in the colour of your urine can reveal important information about your health. If your urine takes on a hue beyond what's normal, it can be indicative of something wrong with your health. In general, the normal urine colour varies from pale yellow to deep yellowish-brown, which is a result of a chemical pigment in the urine called urochrome.

1. Red or Pink

  • When your kidneys, urethra, bladder or any other urinary tract organ gets infected or inflamed, blood cells get leaked into the urine, giving it a red hue. The causes behind the presence of blood can be urinary tract infections, kidney cysts, kidney stones, enlarged prostate and even cancer. Taking blood thinners can also cause you to have blood in your urine.
  • Certain foods like blackberries, rhubarb and beets can cause your urine to turn pink.
  • The use of certain medications like a particular class of antibiotic used in the treatment of tuberculosis can turn your urine red. Likewise, a drug used to numb discomfort in the urinary tract can cause a red/pink discoloration of your urine.

2. Blue or Green

  • The consumption of coloured food dyes containing green or blue pigments can cause you to pass urine of such hues.
  • Certain anti-depressant and anti-inflammatory medications can turn your urine green/blue.
  • A very rare medical condition called familial benign hypercalcemia (fbh), characterised by high levels of calcium in thE blood and low levels of the mineral in the urine can cause your urine to turn blue.
  • Green urine can also occur if your urinary tract gets infected by the pseudomonas bacteria.

3. Dark Brown

  • Having large amounts of these foods - aloe, rhubarb (a type of leafy green) and broad beans can cause you to pass dark brown urine.
  • Certain anti-malarial drugs, laxatives and muscle relaxants can darken the colour of your urine as well.
  • Dark brown urine can also be caused by disorders of the kidney or liver as well as infections of the urinary tract.
  • Injury of the muscle as a result of excessive training can result in dark brown urine.

4. Orange

  • Problems with the bile duct (the duct through which bile from the gall bladder and liver passes before entering the duodenum) or liver along with the passing of light coloured stools can result in orange urine.
  • A cause of orange urine may also be dehydration as fluids bring about a decrease in the concentration of compounds present in the urine.

5. White

  • The presence of calcium or phosphate sediments in the urine can give it a white hue.
  • White urine can also be a result of funguria infection (a form of fungal urinary infection wherein the fungus produces white sediments) or a bacterial infection.

'consult'.

DGO, MBBS

Post delivery when the menstrual cycles start, the cycles can be anovulatory in the beginning which can make the cycles long, heavy and sometimes painful. If the cycles continue to be the same way, consult a gynaecologist and get yourself treated.
