In a normal pregnancy, climbing stairs is safe as long as you are cautious. Climb up and down slowly holding the handrail, and take breaks if necessary and take deep breadths. Switch on the lights so that the stairs are well lit up. In the mid and late three months of pregnancy, the centre of gravity of the body shifts forwards and upwards; so you should be extra careful while balancing yourself especially while stepping down. This will prevent tripping or falling. But if there is a high risk pregnancy like bleeding episodes, past miscarriage, dizziness, twins, etc. It is better to avoid using the staircase. In your case as you have twins, it is safer to avoid climbing stairs especially in the second half of the pregnancy.

if you had given Unwanted 72, within 72 hours of the intercourse you had, it is less likely that she gets pregnant. All you can do is be watchful. If she misses a scheduled next period, do a urine pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy

Flatulence - What Causes it + Home Remedies

The build-up of gases in the stomach can be uncomfortable and very embarrassing when it leads to flatulence. Flatulence can be defined as the release of intestinal gas from the anus. This may or may not be accompanied by sound and odour. Both men and women can be affected by flatulence at any age.

Some of the causes of flatulence include:
Swallowing excessive amounts of air while eating
Indigestion
Lactose intolerance

Food that is difficult to digest often triggers the formation of gas such as hydrogen, carbon dioxide, methane and sulphur in the digestive system as a result of the microbial breakdown of this food. Sulphur is largely responsible for the odor that accompanies the release of these gases. Beans, chickpeas, cauliflower and cabbage are some such foods that can trigger flatulence.
Flatulence on its own is not a serious condition and usually resolves itself without medication. However if it triggers severe abdominal cramps, diarrhea, persistent constipation, blood in the stools, nausea and pain in the right side of the abdomen, medical care should be immediately sought.

If flatulence is a problem you suffer from often, take a look at your diet and modify your eating habits. Keep a food diary to determine what food triggers this condition and avoid it. If you are lactose intolerant switch your dairy products for soya substitutes and avoid dairy. Anti-gas compounds that are available over the counter can also provide relief. Chew your food slowly, thoroughly and ensure that your mouth is closed while chewing to prevent swallowing air. For this reason, also avoid chewing gums and fizzy drinks. If you must eat beans, soak them overnight before cooking.

Flatulence can be easily treated with home remedies. Following home remedies can be used
1. Ginger: Ginger aids the digestion process, eases bloating and reduces gas. It also helps stool pass smoothly and helps keep the intestines clear. This does not give stomach gases a chance to build up. Ginger can be consumed in the form of capsules or a tea made by steeping ginger in hot water for a few minutes.
2. Papaya: Along with being rich in antioxidants and flavonoids, papaya contains an enzyme known as papain that helps digest proteins and reduce gas. To benefit from papain, you could eat the papaya fruit or drink a tea made with papaya leaves. Papaya enzymes are also available as supplements.

Do a usg scan for baby. It is better to go for induction of labour and give artificial pains. Discuss with your obstetrician immediately.

She can take emergency pill now, but it is not to be taken very frequently as it can lead to irregular periods. You can use barrier, that is condom. It not only helps prevent pregnancy but also protects against infection.

Best treatment is to visit a gynecologist or an ent specialist and get checked. During the last month of pregnancy many women have" stuffy" nose which they say is due to cold. But this is due to congestion of the nose by blood. So simple measures like inhaling eucalyptus oil moistening the nose with normal saline drops like nasomist preventing blowing of nose, as it causes bleeding avoiding cold food stuffs avoiding sitting too much in ac.

As per your data about long and short period length, the period should have come on 8th June or 11th June. As today is just 9th, and she has already passed 8th, it would be best to wait till 11th and if there is NO menses by 12, do a Urine Pregnancy Test on 12th morning using an early morning sample in a LAB......

Hi, brownish discharge at 11 weeks is not common. It could be due to a blood accumulating behind the placenta or could be some other serious problem. I advise you get a sonography done as soon as possible to get proper treatment. All the best.

Effect Of Potatoes Consumption On Pregnancy

Pre pregnancy potato consumption and risk of gestational diabetes mellitus

Potatoes are the third most commonly consumed food crop in the world, after rice and wheat.

About 35% of women of reproductive age (that is, aged 19-50) consume potatoes daily, accounting for 8% of daily total energy intake.

The health effects of potatoes are inconclusive, and there have been longstanding debates on the appropriate placement of potatoes in dietary guidance. Nonetheless, the dietary guidelines continue to include potatoes in the vegetable food group and encourage consumption.

Though potatoes are rich in vitamin c, potassium, dietary fiber, and some phytochemicals, unlike other vegetables they can have detrimental effects on glucose metabolism because they contain large amounts of rapidly absorbable starch. Indeed, several epidemiologic studies have linked higher potato consumption to increased concentrations of fasting plasma glucose, insulin resistance, and an increased risk of type ii diabetes mellitus.

Gestational diabetes mellitus (gdm) is a common complication of pregnancy characterized by glucose intolerance with onset or first recognition during pregnancy. Gdm is not only associated with adverse perinatal outcomes, it is also related to increased long-term cardiometabolic risk in both mothers and their offspring.

It is therefore, crucial to identify modifiable risk factors that could contribute to the prevention of GDM.

Previous studies have found that a diet with a higher glycemic index is related to higher plasma glucose and hba1c concentrations during pregnancy and could increase the risk of GDM.

Piles is unrelated to infertility problems. Piles needs separate attention and consider taking plenty water, laxatives and ointments. Sometimes you may need surgery. Urine discharge may be due to infection and infertility may also be due to infection. For that, you must consult your doctor and get a semen analysis done and then find the cause of the problem. If cause is found, the treatment is easier.
