Dear lybrate-user. You can use them without getting any side effects. These are safe. Although salicylic acid peels the skin, discontinuing the creams may lead to reversal of effect.

I have oily skin can you recommend me some facewash and lotion to stop acne growth on my face.
Hi lybrate-user For oily skin use a facewash which has tea tree in it. A lot of brands have facewash with tea tree. As it has antimicrobial properties and is good for oily skin. Also use a day cream which is gel based not creme based. Use multani mitti face pack on your skin once or twice a week. For acne problem take homoeopathic treatment for it. Takecare.

I am suffering from anal fissure and want to get operated but the question is by which method. Laser surgery or normal surgery and how much time will it take to heal the wound and return to normal life after both the surgical ways. Please answer relatively or else leave.

MBBS, MS - General Surgery, M.Ch - Surgical Gastroenterology/G.I. Surgery, Fellowship in Hepatobiliary Surgery & Liver Transplantation, International Visiting Scholar
Surgical Gastroenterologist, Hyderabad
There is no difference in the recovery time of laser vs regular surgery. The wound is a 2 mm cut which heals in 3 to 5 days. You can return to work from Next day of surgery.

Put some epsom salt in the warm water bucket and dip your feet. After 10 minutes gently scrub your feet, wash and pat them dry. Massage with olive oil and wear socks to lock moisture.

Skin pigmentation occurs in many women, it may be because of many reasons like exposure to excessive sunlight, dust, or due to improper sleep, application of various creams etc. If you are thinking that modern medicine has cure to such superficial skin problems, then you are thinking wrong. There is no permanent cure for the pigmentation and strong anti-pigmentation chemical formulae will only work on the surface of the hyper pigmented skin and lighten the effect temporarily. However, if you stop using the drug on your skin, it will revert to its worst condition. In short, modern medicine has no jar of magic towards this common problem that the women face. Ayurveda helps you to gain your proper skin tone in a natural way, ayurveda uses the natural herbs for the same, these are very much beneficial to the skin and body. It helps in proper growth of skin inturn helps in gaining the proper glow of skin.

I am feeling hard to pass my stool. I can see blood flow while passing my stool. Iam working in pune and i am basically from chennai. Is it because of food change? Is it advisable to work in pune? Or eat home food for a year? Give me solution and food I should eat.

MD-Homeopathy
Homeopath, Kolkata
Change of food and livelihood may be the cause. Keep you stool soft with lots of water, bland diet, less milk, fibrous food. And revert back after 10 day.

Skin Brighteners - How They Can Help?

MBBS, DDV, Aesthetic medicine

Skin Brighteners - How They Can Help?

As we grow older, our skin cell growth slows down. The outer skin becomes lustreless and faded. It loses its radiance. Our skin loses its luster when we spend too much of our time in the sun or are exposed to pollution. The dead skin, over a period, is deposited on the outer skin giving us a faded look. Skin brightening helps people shed their dead skin in a natural way. The best skin-brightening products contain micro-exfoliants that remove the dead skin cells in a natural way.

What should a skin brightening cream contain?
There are many skin brightening and lightening agents in creams but only one- hydroquinone-is approved in the United States. This chemical inhibits the functioning of an enzyme called tyrosinase, which helps in the production of melanin. Melanin is the pigment that causes the dark colour of the skin. Typically, the concentration of hydroquinone in most of the over-the-counter creams do not exceed more than 2 percent. In case you need a stronger cream, ask your dermatologist.
In many countries, excluding the US, brightening creams contain mercury. This substance is poisonous and can be passed on to the baby if the user is pregnant.

How do skin brighteners work?
Our skin becomes dark because of a pigment called melanin. The pigmentation of the skin increases when we spend long hours in the sun or are exposed to pollution. In the process, collagen- an important part of the protein that holds our skin together- gets depleted. Skin brighteners simply stem the production of melanin. Continued application of skin brighteners restores the original tone of our skin, to some extent.

Natural Skin Brightening Agents

  1. Gram Flour and Chickpeas: Chickpeas contain essential vitamins and proteins that remove the blemishes on your skin caused due to sunburn. The best part of the chickpea is that it does not strip the skin of its essential oils.
  2. Facial Masks: Many such masks are available in the market but keep in mind that not every mask is appropriate for your skin type. If your skin is oily or dry, then buy one that matches your skin characteristics.
  3. Coconut Oil: This substance has been found to contain antioxidants. Antioxidants destroy the free radicals or unstable molecules that deplete collagen in our skin. Apart from a skin brightening agent, coconut oil also replenishes the skin of its natural oils.
  4. Orange Peels and Yoghurt: Skin brightening by orange peels is quite a popular practice among ladies. Orange peels contain Vitamin C which is a good de-pigmenting agent. Dried orange peels are ground into a fine powder and later mixed with yoghurt. The resultant mixture is then applied on the face to achieve desired results.

It is possible that you had an allergic reaction to the water and sun exposure. Just apply sunscreen regularly and moisturise your skin properly. If there is any itching then take any antiallergic tablet. If it doesn't get better in 3-4 days then you should show a dermatologist in person.
