Is Scalp Psoriasis a life threatening disease? What are its impact in once life? Homeopathic has treatment for this or not? Please help.

PDDM, MHA, MBBS
General Physician, Nashik
For scalp psoriaisis, you could use a coal tar+salicylic acid based shampoo, thrice weekly for 2-4 weeks. Topical steroid+saicylic acid based lotion can be used for the thick scaly patches of psoriasis fr 2-4 weeks Since steroids are usually avoided over long term therefore once the patches are significantly improved, you may switch to topical Vit D analogues e.g Calcipotriol, calcipotriene solution. These are all prescription medicines, therefore I would suggest that you see a dermatologist before trying them Regards.

I snore heavily while sleeping and wake-up with a sore throat; feel drowsy in the afternoon especially when attending a lecture session or in a dull meeting. I do not have a very physically active work life. I think it's Sleep Apnea. Please help with cure. Do I need operation?

Diploma in Otorhinolaryngology (DLO), DNB (ENT)
Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Specialist, Kota
Hi Mr. lybrate-user. The history you gave suggests SLEEP APNOEA. But to be sure you need to undergo sleep study and sleep endoscopy later to confirm site of obstruction causing snoring. If that us minimal then you have CPAP machines which can be worn at night and if severe then aur surgery may be needed. So I would suggest you to consult an ent surgeon for need ful. Morning walk and jogging helps. Take care.

If you are sure it is ring worm and it has been there for more than a year, then you should consult a doctor ASAP as you will need a proper course of anti fungal tablets along with anti fungal cream. And no, the mark on the skin will not remain forever, it will fade gradually but only after the ringworm is cured.

How to stop over masturbating? And tell medicine for it And also homely solution. How to control himself to do this.

MD - Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Chennai
Why should you stop, its not wrong, unless compulsive, read below, Masturbation is a very healthy form of sexual outlet, do not feel guilty about it. Nearly 99% of men and more than 60% of women masturbate. It starts from adolescence and goes on in some people even till death. The pleasure (orgasm) from masturbation is said to be unique from sexual intercourse. In men, most of the liquid contains only water and some fructose and hormones. Hence it does not drain your energy. Many equate masturbation/ seminal fluid loss to lack of energy, impotency and so on. Many quacks, religious heads and pseudo healers also propagate the idea that masturbation is a disorder/ and wrongful behavior and instill fear on the mind of innocent men and women (we can see posters in train and bus stand, offering help for this behavior). Consult a psychiatrist, if you have excessive masturbation guilt or compulsive masturbation. Compulsive masturbation is when a person continues with frequent masturbation neglecting his/ her other work like education, job or social obligations. In fact masturbation reduces the sexual tension and helps focus on task at hand better.

Is jerking of once in a day bad for health or does it reduces sperm quantity or makes you impotent?

Advanced Aesthetics
Ayurveda, Gulbarga
Yes its reduces sperm quantity and health issues also. Its bad for health this is effect of over mastribution and nitefall annd avoid watching porn movies it cause many problems. There are no harmful side effects of masturbation. Medical science has debunked many myths formally associated with masturbation, such as hair growing on the palms, insanity, or that masturbation will drain excessive energy from the body. Some people report feeling guilty about masturbating. Negative feelings associated with any behavior can threaten a person's health and well being. 1. The nervous system is affected the most. 2. Besides the heart, the digestive system, the urinary system as well as the other systems are adversely affected and consequently the whole body becomes the museum of diseases with profound weakness. 3. The eyes become sunken, the cheek bones protrude and there is a black rim round the eyes. 4. Continuous headache and backache. 5. Dizziness and loss of memory. 6. Palpitation of heart on lightest exertion. 7. Nervousness. 8. Unable to perform any heavy physical or mental work. 9. The person dislikes any company and activities and rather likes to sit in seclusion and suffers from weakness. 10. All the senses are impaired. 11. Vision becomes dim, the tongue begins to stammer and ears tend to become deaf etc. 12. Lastly t. B. Or insanity or some other serious disease catch hold of the victim to lead his life to a close. 13. Impotency. How much is too much masturbation (and sex for that matter) that depends but it's suggested men keep their ejaculation frequency down to 2-3 times a week. However, sexual activity can be experienced more often if men learn how to orgasm without ejaculation. Doing so can actually store bioenergy into your system and make your penis firmer, your erections last longer, and your ejaculate volume bigger. For treatment and any querries ask privetly.

What is the best time to sleep, how many hours we need to sleep in a day and how manage sleep in night shifts.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hi, the best time to sleep depends upon the shift-timings! as in your case, you can't sleep in night-time, so sleep during day-time for 6-8hrs. Our body takes few days to few months to get habituated to this contrast sleeping hours. So, wait for few more days for your body getting adjusted!

I was suffering from viral, doctor advised me paracetamol, on third day the temperature goes up to 103 , doctor advised on phone to take Meftal 250 mg, in the next early morning I was having stomach pain, extreme gas ,and I fainted for few seconds and my son told me I have seizure for few seconds, 5-6 seconds, I never have seizure anytime before, doctor said it might be due to dehydration as I was not eating and drinking fluids much or due to reaction of Meftal medicine. I am better don't have any fever, does that seizure require serious attention? Do I need to worry?

MBBS, MD Psychiatry, DNB Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Nagpur
Though the seizure in your case has a fair explanation on the basis if your medical condition (notably hypoglycemia due to loss of appetite and electrolyte imbalance due to dehydration), still it is advisable to completely investigate any" first episode of seizure" consult a physician, get a baseline eeg done and other investigations if necessary to rule out all possible causes of such episode, apart from your medical condition. Take care.
