Avoid sitting Cross legged. Avoid Squatting- Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams Stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports Taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area Contrast Fomentation (Hot and Cold).

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang asana -- lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Earlier stages of varicose veins are treated by wearing stockings, sleeping with legs elevated and sclerotherapy (injection of sclerosing agents in the veins ). Advanced stages are treated by destruction of defective valves in the veins or surgical removal of veins. In cases where there are no symptoms except bad cosmetic experience, no treatment is offered. You must get yourself evaluated by getting a Doppler ultrasound of veins done which would reveal the exact status of your veins.

Knee Replacement Surgery - Pain and Recovery

Most of us may not be aware, but the knee is the largest joint in the human body and contributes the maximum to a person’s physical movement from one place to another. The knees play a significant role in a variety of movements including squatting, supporting the weight, running, kneeling, sitting, etc.

Whether it is a severe accident, osteoarthritis that set in with age, or other reasons, the result could be stiff, painful knees. The first line of treatment would be exercise, physiotherapy, and medications. However, if these do not work, then surgical treatment is the choice. Though usually it is reserved for people over the age of 50, there could be exceptions.

Given the number of functions it is involved in, when a serious procedure like knee replacement is being considered, the pain that the person would go through and the recovery time are two important parameters to address. It is best that the patient has a detailed discussion with the doctor and gets all doubts clarified. This will help both the patient and the doctor have realistic and practical expectations about what to expect after the surgery.

So, when pain and stiffness make knee replacement inevitable, prepare for it. The following sequence outlines what happens right from surgery to recovery.

  1. Under general anesthesia, the damaged portion of the knee is removed, and a prosthesis (metal or plastic) is used to replace the removed portion.

  2. Hospital stay can range from 3 to 5 days.

  3. In about a month, the patient will have remarkable recovery, with almost no pain.

  4. Though not advisable, most patients would be able to stand and do basic movement on the day of surgery.

  5. Begin walking with the support of parallel bars and continue using cane/walker/crutches for the first few days to avoid overload on the knees.

  6. With proper support, walking is possible in 3 to 5 days. Continue using a cane for the next few weeks to strengthen the knee.

  7. Schedule a postoperative visit in the 4th to 6th week after surgery.

  8. Draw up an exercise routine with your physiotherapist.

  9. Ice pack can be applied to control swelling.

  10. Driving should be possible, once you are off pain medications, as these can make you drowsy.

  11. Blood clot in the surgical site causing a bruise will disappear in a couple of weeks.

  12. Knee replacement is almost magical as in the long run (10 years postoperatively), there is a good 98% chances of success.

Having said this, it is important to remember each person responds differently to the procedure and therefore treatment/rehabilitation is completely personalized. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult an orthopedist.

Excessive masturbation if u are below 16-20 than more than 2 time a week is excessive. if u are less than 15 than more than once a week is excessive. but bad effect of masturbation on our body is defferent for differnt people. Excessive masturbation is very bad for health. Excessive masturbation is the main reason for Pre-Ejaculation/ erection problem. Swpandosh or nightfall problem also occurs due to excessive masturbation (daily masturbation comes in the category of excessive masturbation). Excessive masturbation can cause weak body, cheeky face, weak eye sight, graying of hair, less weight, fatigue, general weakness, constipation, less appetite, non-erection, low libido, nightfall and many more. During teenage, masturbation can be done once a week after that it should not be done more than 2-3 times a week till marriage. The vitality and vigour lost due to excessive masturbation cannot be regained back by medicines or food etc. you have to change your thinking, it is you to decide, divert your mind. thanks

My husband is having pain in ankle. Had injury due to false step one month back. Severe pain, swelling was there all subsided within 5 days. But mild pain persists since then. If he carries weight, walk fast pain is more otherwise pain feeble don't disturb his routine activities. We had not any previous Dr. Consultation regarding this. Kindly advise what to do anything serious to go for surgery.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Ideally as I tell to all my patients, first step to manage any injury is to rue out a bony injury and that can be done by getting x ray of the affected part done. Also even soft tissue injuries around the ankle are basically ligament injuries which take around 2-3 weeks to heal completely if they are managed properly. In your case, I do not think any management has been done. Can you kindly send me your initial x ray and a clinical pic showing what kind of swelling is present now? also how much pain are you feeling after walking for some time and are there any associated complaints also? do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. For knee pain the best treatment course would be to undergo janu vasti at a panchakarma centre near u. After undergoing janu vasti, you shall be completely treated. If need the doc might prescribe you some ayurvedic medicines depending on your body type. Till then you can have drumstick soup daily. Also boil 2 pieces of garlic in 1 cup milk & 1 cup water. When 1 cup remains, strain & drink daily after adding 1 tsf cow ghee.

In a known case of diabetic we need to control sugar levels with medication , aerobic exercise and following a diabetic diet and For pain take tablet paracetamol 650 mg and follow up after two weeks

Neck message will give good results. Use little good oil or plain water and massage from either side on the mid shoulder blade. Use your thumbs and move it slowly upwards on the back of neck up to the lower level of ear. Repeat 5 to 10 times. Do not do from top to down. Finally move your neck up and down, sideways left and right. Results are excellent.

It's a ligament in knee joint. It's torn but not completely. It is dangerous if there is laxity and you may need reconstruction surgery arthroscopically. If not lax, then rehabilitation will do the job.

Yes, there is simple remedy. You need to strengthen your back muscles. Posture modification is required. Exercises regularly. Milk intake and sunlight exposure.

Dear user, she can suffers from cervical radiculopathy or peri arthritis shoulder. Take hot fomentation, cervical isometric spinal exercise, shoulder mobilization exercises. Do not use pillow. Place 4 layer of towel under the empty space of neck in straight position when she sleep. Avoid forward bending of neck, heavy weight lifting, side lying on affected side. She can use dfo gel. Do it for 5 days and then revert. Thanks.

Hi apply pranacharya restopain oil or prasarini oil on your affected part then give hot fomentation. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. And agni tundi vati and maha yograj guggul 1-1 tab twice a day.
