Plantar fascitis is one of the most common cause of heel pain. It is characterised by pain on walking the first few steps after getting up and gradually improves on walking. Exercusing is the best way to get relieve. With d leg straight, pull the toes towards you and hold them for 10 seconds. Repeat 10 times. You should do it before walking, immediately after getting up before taking those first steps.

Mr. Lybrate-user, if you are suferring with diabetes and hypertension, then it is a must that drugs for the conditions are taken regularly without fail. Plus you have exercise regularly for at least 1 hour a day and take a restricted diet that gives exact amount of calories based on your ideal body weight, extent of daily exercise and sugar levels. For hypertension reduce you salt intake to about 2.3 g a day.

Sounds like you have Peyronie disease.  But don't panic. It affects about one in a hundred men and its exact cause is unknown. What probably happens is that a scar develops in the penis - maybe after a minor injury. Scar tissue doesn't expand like normal tissue, so when the penis pumps up with blood during an erection, the scar bends it over to one side (or up, or down).

It could be the problem of dns (deviated nasal septum), in this the middle bone of nose is slight deviated to one side and can cause obstruction, also there can be a polyp in nose, that is a overgrowth in nose which can obstruct the nose. This can only known after examination of nose. Try to take vapour inhalation from a plain warm water 2 times a day, daily for 4-5 days, see if the problem resolve.

1. Exercise daily for 1/2 hr 2. Drink 3 litres water daily 3. Have small frequent meals at 2-3 hr interval instead of 3-4 large meals. In between balanced main meals (comprising of whole grains, whole legumes/fish/chicken/egg, fruits, vegetables, low fat dairy product), have healthy snacks- coconut water w/o cream, nuts, oilseeds, boiled egg, roasted chana, roasted makhana, muri with veggies, roasted chirwa, whole fruit with green tea. 4. Eat slowly chewing your food well 5. Avoid junk, processed, refined, sugary foods & drinks, alcohol. 6. Be active- take stairs instead of lift, walk instead of taking transport 7. Avoid skipping meals 8. Sleep & wake up early. 9. Have light & early dinner. 10. Find out the trigger for your headaches. Try chewing ajwain post main meals.

Chronic Pain: Is It in Your Head?

The hot topic in Pain research over the last ten years, Chronic Pain (now termed Persistent Pain) is any pain lasting longer than the normal biological healing time frame (6-12 weeks).

We used to think pain was from damage to tissues, stimulating nerve cells, telling our brain we were suffering. High quality research shows that our brain can have little or no pain with direct stimulation of these cells, or certainly for very short periods. Contrasting studies have shown severe pain being experienced in the absence of activity in these fibres.

It has become clear that pain is an OUTPUT of the brain, not an INPUT from our tissues; depending on our FEAR of THREAT to our tissues, not a simple response of the tissues themselves. This doesn’t mean that you can ignore a sprained ankle, but it provides strong psycho-physical treatment pathways for people who have become stuck in patterns of pain, depression, weakness, reduced activity, and withdrawal from life.

Ask your physiotherapist if they can help; we can’t always fix you, but we can certainly help YOU get your life back.

ARE YOU A SEX ADDICT ?

Just like food, clothes and shelter; sex is also a basic human need. In today’s world, we come across sexual literature and content everywhere. Its present on television, the internet, in books and magazines and social media. This over exposure to erotic content increases the possibility of having a sexual desire. Being a biological need, it becomes almost impossible to ignore.

Sometimes the condition is so pronounced that a person develops extra ordinarily intense drive to indulge in sex. If a person is too much obsessed about sexual activity and is thinking about sex most of the time, or his behavior becomes so risky that he tends to have sex in public places is indicative of sexual addiction.

Just like other addictions like alcoholism, smoking etc the sex addict is also not able to keep his sexual behavior in check and can be harmful to self and the society. There are certain indicatives of sex addiction which can help us identify if the person is a sex addict.

  • Watching porn on a regular basis
  • Having extra marital affairs
  • Too many one night stands
  • Indulging in paid sex
  • Having multiple affairs
  • Too much masturbation
  • Sexual molesting or assaulting people

 

So what is the solution ?

When sex addiction becomes so pronounced that it becomes a threat to personal, public and family life, it needs to be addressed and concrete steps need to be taken to treat it.

  • Acceptance – just like any other addiction, the first step is to accept that you are suffering from sex addiction , only then you will be comfortable in seeking help in controlling your excessive sexual desires.
  • Avoid stimuli – avoid conditions and environment where you are more likely to indulge in sex.
  • Sexual counseling – if you make necessary changes to overcome sexual addiction but you failto control it then it is advisable to get help from a trained and qualified sexologist.
  • Medicines – there are various ayurvedic formulations which reduce your anxiety and stress and can be of grest help in overcoming sex addiction.

Dear lybrateuser, -do steam inhalation 2-3 times a day -give more of warm fluids like tea, soup, milk, avoid cold water & other drinks -give tablet paracetamol, 325 mg, 1 tab three times a day -give fresh, warm, homemade food with more of fruits & vegetables, avoid spicy & sour foods -if irritation or pain in throat do warm salt water gargles 2-3 times a day -have plenty of fluids including warm water -get blood cbc investigation done & consult a doctor as she may require an antibiotic.

Hello, constipation is a very common gastro intestinal problem. Constipation may causes flatulence, acidity, abdominal discomfort, swollen abdomen or pain abdomen, nausea vomiting etc. Following homoeopathic medicines are useful in treatment of constipation:- 1. Bio combination no. 04, 4 tablets at a time, three times a day, 15 min. After meals. 2. Bryonia 30, 3 drops, morning empty stomach for 7 days. 3. Nux vomica 30, 3 drops, after dinner at bed time for 7 days. 4. Take causticum 200, 5 drops, once in a week. Avoid the following foods that can cause constipation include: chocolate dairy products red meat bananas and caffeine tips to prevent constipation have more fibres in your diet. 25 to 30 grams of daily intake can prevent constipation. Fibres help retain water in the stools thus making them softer and easier to expel. Whole grain cereals and breads dried fruits, such as prunes and raisins popcorn, nuts, and seeds beans and legumes raw fruits and vegetables drink plenty of fluids, preferably water. 8 glasses a day will help. Have more if you are physically active. Prune (manukka) juice, and other fruit drinks are known to normalize bowel motility.

Your Daily food intake should ideally consist of – a. Have plenty of nuts, dry fuits and seeds. Almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, figs, dates and raisins. They are full of healthy fats needed by a human body. B. Good amount of fruits and vegetables – Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. C. If you are a non- vegetarian - Eat eggs, chicken etc. D. Eat whole grains – Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats, bajra, daliya etc should be taken in multiple meals in a day. E. Eat Sprouts – Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. F. You can supplement your diet with good quality multi-vitamin capsules. DEAR Lybrate USER. This problem is due to irritation and inadequate nutrition of the brain. So follow few basic things 1) drink only 100-150 ml of water during meals ….2) don’t drink water one hour before meals and one hour after meal 3) avoid oily, spicy, salty, junk, fast, fermented and stale food 4) avoid coffee and tea 5) try to sleep upto 10.30 pm 6) do anuloma viloma pranayam regularly early in the morning A) eat 30-40 black currants and 1 tsf of jaggery during meals B) take 250 ml of fresh butter milk during meals. C) instill 3-4 drops of CHANDANADI TAILA in each nostril at the time of sleeping Do all these things for 15 days. It gives you good result.
