Hi I am having severe pains in my right heels. It worsens specifically in the morning while getting up from bed and while trying to get up from a sitting position. Please let me know the reason and what could be done to get rid of this. Is there any home remedy or medicine available?

Hi . I think you may be suffering from plantar fascitis or calcaneal spur. Take an xray, it may shoe extra bone growth in your heel if its calcaneal spur. First we concentrate on pain relieving by 7 days of ultrasound therapy. Meanwhile you can do contrast bath bath i. E. Immerse your leg in luke warm water with pinch of salt for 10mins then cold water for 10mins. Do it 3 times per week. When the pain completely subsides then do strengthening of sole of foot muscles by crushing towel by placing it under your sole on floor. Dont wear heels, use soft sole slippers.

Shoulder pain may be due to strain, sprain, weather change etc. *Avoid bending forward while working on lap top or for any other work. *Don’t sit continuously working on laptop etc. Get up periodically and move around. *Restrict bike driving as far as possible. *Don’t carry laptop or any load on your shoulder. Carrying very light loads equally with both hands is better *Sit straight so that back bone gets proper support. A dining chair is better than a laid back sofa. *You can use mustard oil for massage which is good in winter season for relieving pain. Eucalyptus oil is also good *Soft bed will not give proper support to your back bone. Hard bed with thin mattress and thin pillow is better. *Get yourself tested whether you have spondylitis problem. Homoeopathy has a good treatment for this without adverse effects. Take Calc fluor 200--once daily in the morning for 6 days.

Degenerative spine disease with multilevel disc dessication and small pivds as described above. 2.D12 vertebral body shows partial reduction in height along with altered signal intensity, hypointense onT1 and hyperintense on T2.(further evaluation with contrast study and biopsy is advised). If there is no weakness or loss of sensation in legs, no involvement of bowel or bladder, then the injury is likely to be of less significance and should settle in a few weeks time by rest and appropriate medicines. Patient should also be checked by DEXA scan for bone strength, and if bone density is weak, then treatment to strengthen bones should also be started.

I am 28 years old and having pain in my neck since 4 to 5 months. Sometimes I feel dizzy. I think its spondylosis. What should I do?

1. Take one tablet of crocin pain relief sos after food upto a maximum of 3 tablets daily 2. Apply volini gel twice daily 3. Give warm compress locally 4. Take rest if you have recurrent attack of neck pain a) take x ray/mri cervical spine to exclude spondylitis and consult orthopedic specialist b) sometimes it could be due to bad sitting posture while reading or working on computer. Adopt proper sitting posture, put neck rest, use soft pillow while sleeping c) do physio therapy and neck exercise d) consult me for further advice.

Getting up late in morning, no will to excise regularly because of muscle sprain frequently, too allergic to even things like sweating, pain in back of eyes, frequent headaches, never physically active though try to be, pain in shoulders and joins, had pox for 3 times at childhood in 3 years. What are these symptoms leads to? I feel relieved with paracetamol when prescribed by doctor for any illness. Feel much relieved in brain and muscles. I don't use medicines much unless it is required. Am I need medication or natural remedies are possible?

Hi lybrate-user, I appreciate you seeking help. Well, your symptoms including lethargy & fatigue could be owing to many reasons which needs to be evaluated before recommending anything in specific. Nevertheless, you can try the following in general, and see if it helps - (a) Have a balanced diet with more of leafy greens, and fresh fruits & nuts. Consume fruits/ vegetables rich in vitamin A & C and include more of fresh turmeric in diet on a day to day basis. Among vegetables, onion, garlic, bitter gourd, carrot, beetroot, spinach etc all are to be included too. 'Amla' fruit helps improve immunity and protects against infections. (b) Restrict flesh intake to more of fish and lean meat, and less of red meat, if any. If you are a pure vegetarian, you may take omega-3 fatty acids, 1 cap thrice daily, post meals, for a month. (c) Stay well hydrated - take at least 8 - 10 glasses of clean filtered water daily. (d) Streamline your occupation, reduce stress at work/ occupational stress and stay relaxed. Do yoga and meditate for 15 - 20 minutes daily. 'Yogasanas' & breath control exercises including 'Anulom Vilom' 'Bramari. & 'Savasana' could be helpful. (e) Try exercising daily for at least 30 minutes, walking being the safest. Should the above-mentioned not help still, it is advisable that you consult an ENT specialist who can clinically examine you to ascertain if you have sinusitis. Apply prasarini oil or pranacharya restopain oil on your affected part then give hot fomentation twice a day. Take mahayograj guggul 1-1 tab twice a day. Take maharasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. Avoid tea. Coffee. Junk food. Fermented food. Spicy food. Rice. Walk for atleast 30 minutes a day. Do pranayama early morning. Sleep for atleast 7 hrs per day.
