Insomnia is a sleep disorder in which a person finds it difficult to fall asleep or to stay asleep. Insomnia also includes poor sleep quality, restless sleep, waking up several times during sleep, and feeling un-refreshed or tired after waking up. Homeopathy provides a very safe, effective and non-habit forming treatment of both types of insomnia — acute and chronic. Since the Homeopathic medicines are sourced from natural substances, there are no side-effects.There are various causes of Insomnia. The prominent ones are stress, grief, depression, emotional disturbance, intake of stimulants like coffee and alcohol, and a huge number of medical reasons (like heart diseases, breathing disorders, thyroid problems, and rheumatoid arthritis). Insomnia is also one of the major concerns in elderly people. The Homeopathic remedies are very beneficial in both inducing sleep as well as improving the quality of sleep. Where as the conventional system treats this disease by giving drugs to induce artificial sleep, which frequently may cause side effects or addiction, Homeopathic approach is totally safe and natural. It treats insomnia by giving a tiny dose of a substance that, in large doses, would cause sleeplessness in a healthy person. COFFEA CRUDA is a homeopathic medicine that is most often used for treating insomnia of acute origin and constant thinking. NUX VOMICA is more suited when insomnia is due to the abuse of stimulants e.g. Alcohol, coffee, smoking etc.KALI PHOS top Homeopathic medicine for Insomnia from stress. ARSENIC ALBUM and RHUS TOX are the best Homeopathic medicines for Insomnia with restlessness. BARYTA CARB and PASSIFLORA INCARNATA are the best natural Homeopathic medicines for Insomnia in elderly people. Chronic insomnia needs to be treated according to the cause and also evaluated on the constitutional scale while being prescribed for. The high efficacy Homeopathic treatment for depression needs a special mention as it is the most common cause for chronic insomnia. Please note that Every case calls for detailed study of the patient individually. There are no disease specific medicines in homeopathy. The exact treatment is determined only on "in-depth" evaluation of the individual case. Consult online for homeopathic treatment. Your feedback matters. Thank-you.

I am 30 year old and suffering from heavy migraine problem which is 15 years old. Tell me what to do?

migrane can be managed with lifestyle changes and medications, try muscle relaxation exercises. Relaxation may help ease the pain of a migraine headache. Get enough sleep, but don't oversleep. Get an adequate amount of sleep each night. It's best to go to bed and wake up at regular times, as well. Rest and relax. If possible, rest in a dark, quiet room when you feel a headache coming on. Place an ice pack wrapped in a cloth on the back of your neck and apply gentle pressure to painful areas on your scalp. It is very important keep a headache diary. Continue keeping your headache diary even after you see doctor. It will help you learn more about what triggers your migraines and what treatment is most effective. A dose of riboflavin in appropriate dose as prescribed by me, also may prevent migraines or reduce the frequency of headaches. Coenzyme q10 supplements may decrease the frequency of migraines, magnesium supplements may also be used to treat migraines do reply back for medication prescriptions. Being also a general physician and registered dietitian, I prescribe both evidence based herbal as well as allopathic medicines complementing with dietary guidelines and home remedies carefully personalized for each individual patient.
