Koi nukshan nahi hai agar kam quantity mein liya jaye, jaise ki ek chota pc gur ka khane ke baad..is tarah lene se fayda hi hai kyonki gur digestion ke liye achcha hota hai or is mein iron bhi hota hai jo ki immumity badata hai....zyada lene se weight bad sakta hai aur diabetes patients ko bhi gur nahi lena chahiye.

There is no serious cause of this problem. One can experience this lip twitching due to fatigue, stress, excessive caffeine intake, emotion, or lack of potassium in your diet. Try having a diet rich in fruits and vegetables and take proper rest. This will be normalized.

The best way to increase weight is by taking a high protein, calorie dense diet along with some toning exercises. So, try increasing your calorie intake gradually. So, you can increase the intake of high protein foodstuffs like milk/buttermilk, eggs, pulses or dals, cottage cheese, chicken, fish, soyabean etc in your diet. But do it very gradually. Can also try shakes and smoothies prepared with combination of fruit and milk or yoghurt. Hope this will help!

Dear Lybrate User, Modifying your lifestyle... is the best way to lose fat. However losing 17 kilos in less then one month is unrealistic . so, try ma king small, practical and achievable targets like 4-5 kilos a month . Try following the following tips: 1) Have small and frequent meals. It helps in increasing BMR and helps in weight loss 2) Cut down on sugar intake. Avoid mithais, sweets, icecreams, puddings etc 3) Drink at least 2 litres water in a day. But make sure not to have water immediately after a meal 4) Have more green leafy vegetables and whole fruits. Eat natural foods. 5) Avoid fried and fatty foods and foods with preservative such as samosa, pakoda, chips, namkeens etc 6) If you eat non veg, then avoid red meat and include more of leans cuts of chicken, fish etc. Don’t eat yolk. Have egg whites only. 7) Avoid aereated drinks and juices…even the fresh fruit juices. 8) Don’t drink alcohol as it has nothing but calories 9) Include more fibre in food as fibre keeps you full for longer. Whole fruits, vegetables, whole or sabut dals all have fibre. Try including more of fibrous cereals too such as dalia, oats, add bran to atta for making chapattis, brown rice etc. 10) Have good breakfast and light dinners. 11) Include physical activity like walking, swimming, cycling etc.

This could simply be because of B12 deficiency as it is required for nerve functioning...and deficiency of this vitamin can cause such symptoms. So, get yourself checked for B12 deficiency and start a supplement as per your doctor's advice.

Midnight snack craving is basically a craving for food when you wake up in the middle of the night. Midnight cravings can lead to weight gain if you binge eat on a regular basis. It is important that you accept the situation and take steps to rectify it.
A majority of the foods that you consume are mostly empty calories such as cookies and sugar based food. If you don't control these cravings, then it may lead to tremendous weight gain. Here are a few tips to control your midnight snack craving -

1. Eat your dinner properly
It is important that you eat a well-balanced dinner that consists of carbohydrates, protein and fats. If you don't eat a proper dinner, then the chances of eating later and subsequent binge eating go up drastically.

2. Include fiber
Add fiber to your diet as fiber helps you in feeling full. Eat fiber rich foods such as beans, lentils and broccoli which promote a feeling of satiety.

3. Green tea
Drink a cup of green tea after eating as it will help you sleep better.

4. Stay hydrated
Make sure that you are properly hydrated as it will prevent food cravings. Dehydration may also lead to other health complication such as skin problems.

5. Consume yoghurt
Consume portions of yoghurt as it contains probiotic bacteria that help in keeping your digestive system healthy. It also promotes a feeling of satiety as it contains protein.

6. Plan an activity
Don't immediately go to bed after dinner, instead go for a walk or play with your pet. Make sure that you spend some time after dinner prior to retiring for bed.

7. Eat healthy
If you do have cravings then go for healthy choices such as eating salads and fruits. Focus on foods such as cucumber, jackfruits and apples.

8. Protein
Make sure you add protein to your diet as protein helps in muscle building. It also makes you fuller so that you eat less. Include foods such as eggs, chicken and fish to your diet.

9. Exercise
Exercise on a regular basis. This increases the secretion of endorphins in your body which improve your wellbeing and promote happiness. It will help you sleep better and reduce your craving to eat unhealthy foods.

As far as alcohol is concerned, let me tell you it provides nothing but empty calories. This means there are no nutrients- no vitamins, minerals etc..only carbs and hence energy. so, better avoid it completely. Buttermilk/ coconut water/ lemon water/ light tea and coffee are really good. Limit diet drinks too as they have an impact on the insulin levels in the body and can indirectly lead to weight gain. Excessive use of diet drinks has side effects. Oil - Rice Bran/Canola/ Olive oil/ soyabean/mustard are all considered good oils

Back pain can happen due to numerous reasons. It can happen due to muscle spasm, disc prolapse, degenerative disc disease. However, most common cause of back pain is muscle spasm or due to wrong posture. You can try doing hot fomentation and some basic exercises like cat and camel, back stretch, hams stretch and bhujangasana and see if it helps you. I would suggest you to visit an ortho or a physiotherapist nearby if the above said exercises doesn't help in reducing pain. Physiotherapy treatment might help you in getting relief and it doesn't have any side effects too.

Provide some rest to the shoulder. If it has started today or a day before, apply ice and provide rest for few days. If it is chronic, please do hot water fomentation and restrain from workout and visit a physiotherapist nearby to get the physiotherapy treatment done. Most likely, it will be because of some soft tissue injury and will settle after physiotherapy treatment.

Twitching can be because of Vitamin deficiencies or muscle tightness&weakness. Improve your diet. Supplement it with Vitamin B12 if you are vegetarian. Also, in addition to this, start doing some stretching and strengthening exercises for the lower limbs like calf stretch, hamstring and quadriceps stretch. Hope this will help!!

For 5 ft 10 inch, ideal weight is between 77-80 kg. He should avoid the following to lose weight as well as to control sugar levels: 1) sugar, gur, sweets, sugary items like jams, jellies etc. 2) processed and ready to eat food like chips, namkeens etc 3) refined flour or maida items 4) cut down on saturated fat or solid fats like ghee, butter 5) fried foods like pakodas, samosas etc following food items should be taken in moderation: 1) fruits- mango, litchi, chickoo, grapes and bananas 2) vegetables- patatoes, sweet patatoes and arbi 3) suji or semolina and white rice 4) nuts like dates, raisins etc he should include more fibre in the diet as fiber helps in controlling the blood sugar levels and also helps in losing weight. Dear Lybrate user, You don't need to lose weight as your weight seems to be pretty fine. If you are concerned about the inch loss, then you should include more protein in your diet and do some toning exercises to build the muscle mass. As far as hair fall is concerned, try these tips: 1) Drink aloe vera juice daily. This might help prevent thinning of hair. 2) One of the major cause of hair fall is iron deficiency. Eat spinach as it is not only iron rich but has protein, vitamin c, calcium, magnesium, potassium and even omega 3…they all are necessary for healthy scalp. 3) Eat foods rich in omega 3 such as flaxseeds, walnuts, almonds and vegetables such as broccoli. 4) Include more carrots and Sweet Potatoes in your diet for those long and lustrous locks. Known to be good for the eyes, carrots contain vitamin A that also improves hair growth. Sweet potatoes are also packed with beta-carotene that converts to vitamin A in our body. Deficiency of vitamin A may lead to dry and itchy scalp. 5) Include almonds as biotin in almonds help stimulate hair growth 6) Vitamin C supports the absorption of iron in our body, the deficiency of which may lead to hair loss. Vitamin C is also known for its antioxidant properties which reduces the damage caused by free radicals that may make your hair brittle and weak. Add fruits like oranges, papaya, blueberries, lime and kiwi to your diet. Vitamin C also helps in the production of an essential protein called collagen which strengthens blood vessels that supports the hair shafts. 7) Dairy Products such as Milk, yogurt, cheese, eggs etc. are loaded with essential nutrients such as proteins, Vitamin B12, iron, zinc and Omega 6 fatty acids. Dairy products are also a great source of biotin (Vitamin B7) that is known to fight hair loss.

Dear Lybrate User, Light to moderate exercise doesn't have any negative effects on ovulation. However, excessive exercise can drastically reduce estrogen and progesterone levels, delaying ovulation or even suppressing it altogether. So, there is no harm in doing household work or yoga.

Best Diet For A Healthy Gut

Ask Free Question
Contrary to popular belief, not all bacteria are harmful to us. Within our body, each 'human' cell is complemented by 10 microbial cells. These range from bacteria in the gut to viruses and fungi in other parts of the body. Gut bacteria help us to digest food, produce vitamins, communicate with the immune system and create small molecules that help the brain to function.

Thus, it is essential to have a healthy gut, by which we mean a gut with plenty of friendly bacteria. There are many different types of bacteria living in the gut. Each of these thrive on different foods. Thus to have a healthy gut, your diet should include a variety of cereals, fruits, and vegetables, etc. Here are a few tips to keep your gut bacteria healthy.

Increase your fiber intake
A diet that is rich in fiber is the best way to promote the growth of diverse microbes in the gut. This includes fruits, vegetables, beans, lentils, cereals and nuts. Fiber also helps prevent constipation and has been linked to lowering the risk of cancer. To prevent the buildup of gas and bloating it is advisable to increase intake of fiber and drink plenty of water with all your meals.

Include probiotic foods in your diet
Probiotics need not only be taken in the form of supplements. This can easily be incorporated into your daily diet. These can be defined as live bacteria and yeasts that help the digestive system. Yogurt is one of the most common sources of probiotics. Kimchi or fermented vegetables, miso, cheese, buttermilk, fermented condiments and lentil sprouts are other examples of probiotic foods you should include in your diet.

Try having some carminatives in your meals.
Carminative foods soothe the digestive system of the body. Some common carminatives are cumin, ginger, oatmeal, cardamom, cinnamon and fennel. While cumin helps with the digestion of black beans, cooked oatmeal lines the stomach and soothes it.

Eat weight loss friendly food
Being overweight not only affects how you look, but also affects the digestion process. When you lose weight one of the first things you would notice is a lowered amount of abdominal discomfort as your gut begins to feel healthier.

This is because weight loss lowers the pressure on the lower esophageal sphincter. This does not allow the valve to open more than necessary and hence prevents food and stomach acid flowing back into the esophagus. Along with increasing your intake of fruits and vegetables, switch your cooking oil to olive oil and notice the difference.

Dear Lybrate User, This seems to be postural back pain. Medicine will only provide symptomatic relief...but isn't a long term solution. Try doing some back stretching and strengthening exercises...for eg back stretch, hams stretch, cat and camel exercises or yoga asanas eg bhujangasana. Along with this, do hot water fomentation twice daily.

Dear lybrate user, in addition to consuming acv, she should follow a low calorie yet balanced diet plan and do some cardio like brisk walk etc to lose weight fast. Acv alone won't help much. Its true that it helps in increasing bmr and has numerous other health benefits too, but the result would be best if it is taken in conjugation with good diet and exercise. She can start with 1 - 2 tsp in a glass of water before meals. Or it can be sprinkled over cut fruits or salad too similar to other vinegars. Once a day.

Pinching kind of pain can also be due to nerve problems and yes muscle tightness too. So, I suggest you to be regular with your stretching exercises. Like calf stretch, foot stretches, plantar fascia stretch and try contrast bath too. Contrast bath therapy, also known as" hot/cold immersion therapy" is a form of treatment where the feet is immersed in warm water for 3 minutes followed by the immediate immersion of the foot/feet in cold water for 3 minutes. This procedure is repeated several times, alternating hot and cold. This helps in improving blood circulation and help relieves pain. Also in addition to the above mentioned treatment, get yourself tested for vit b12 and vit d deficiency as these can also be the cause of such pain.
