The foul smell in your mouth is due to accumulation of food debris, which is a result of inadequate maintenance of oral hygiene. I suggest that you get thorough professional cleaning/scaling done from a dentist, and use antibacterial mouthwashes thereafter. You should also clean your tongue twice daily with a tongue cleaner. Following all these measures will solve your problem. Scaling will also take care of your sensitivity issue. Hope that helps.

Please get an x ray done of that area and find out the reason why the pain is still there. It may be related to gums or any cavity in the nearby tooth.

Healthy gums equals to a healthy mouth; exercising for healthy gums is the way to go! Gently bite down so as to make sure that your teeth make a clinking sound when they meet. Repeat this 30 to 40 times continously. This exercise will stimulate the flow of blood and will keep your gums healthy.

The type of treatment you have for toothache will depend on the cause of the pain, so your dentist will examine your mouth and may carry out an X-ray to try to identify the problem. •If your toothache is caused by tooth decay, your dentist will remove the decayed area and replace it with a filling. •If your toothache is caused by a loose or broken filling, the filling will be taken out, any decay will be removed and a new filling put in place. •If the pulp inside your tooth is infected, you may need root canal treatment. This procedure involves removing the infected pulp and then inserting a special type of filling to seal the tooth and prevent re-infection. •If your toothache can't be treated using these methods, or if your tooth is impacted (wedged between another tooth and your jaw), it may need to be removed.

The vomit sensation you are talking about is known as Gag Reflex. It is a protective mechanism of the human body to avoid the entrance of any unwanted material down the throat. In your case, you are experiencing the reflex while brushing, that means your brushing pattern might be wrong. You are taking your brush to much deeper areas than required. Also, you might not be cleaning your tongue properly. Visit your dentist and ask him about some correct brushing patterns and start using a tongue cleaner. Whenever you experience gag try to focus on some other activity or object, such as your big toe. It diverts you and thus the gag stops. Avoid mouth breathing, that increases the gag. If the problem persists even after changing your brushing/cleaning pattern and avoiding mouth breathing there is more to it. Pay a visit to both your dentist and gasteroenterologist.

Hello, I am 25 year old. Gutkha khane se mera mukh nahi khulta hai aur tikha bahut zyada lagta hai.

BDS, MDS
Dentist, Gorakhpur
Pahle to aap gutkha khana band karo nahi to problem badhti chali jayegi, aur ek aisa bhi stage aata hai ki aap gutkha khana band bhi kar doge to bhi problem wapas se thik nahi hoga. Kuch samay baad muh ka cancer bhi ho sakta hai. Koi bhi dawa koi bhi treatment tabtak kaam nahi karegi jabtak aap gutkha khana puri tarah se band nahi kar dete. Abhi ke liye antioxidants jaise lyco-ST, sm-fibro etc khana shuru kar sakte hain jo thoda bahut damage control karega. Fir aap treatment ke liye contact kar sakte ho.

I am regularly brushing my teeth then also its not enough white. What should I do?
Cause of discoloration ? Smoking, coffee, tea, drugs, aging, staining food (wine, blueberry, etc) genetics. Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with whitening (bleaching) procedures and / or artificial enamel filling. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Use Snowdent tooth paste for whitening until then. Apply SNOWDENT paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min .Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results. You may consult me in person. . DENTAL TIPS: - Visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Soft drinks, cordials and fruit juices should be consumed in a limited quantity because they are acidic in nature. Acidic food or drinks often soften the tooth material which leads to the dissolution of minerals into the tooth enamel, resulting in cavities (holes).

Everything You Need to Know About Dentures

Teeth may be lost due to various reasons - decay, periodontal disease, age, trauma, etc. Whatever the reason, losing a tooth causes some side effects, as noted below:

  1. Reduced chewing efficiency, thereby affecting nutrition
  2. Aesthetics, more effect if front teeth are lost
  3. Structural support to the face - puckering can happen
  4. Overall nutrition affected

For someone who has lost a tooth or teeth, dentures are a boon. There are various options for people, and choice can be made based on economic, cosmetic, and overall health conditions.

Options:
Partial/complete: If only one or few teeth are being replaced, it is a partial denture. This can be fixed or removable. In case of old age or trauma where all teeth are lost, a complete denture would be in order. In most cases, this is a removable denture.

Fixed dentures/Removable dentures: Depending on whether the denture is fixed in the mouth or can be removed when not in use.

Metal or ceramic or combination: In some cases, for aesthetic or economic reasons, the patient can decide to go for a metallic fixed partial denture. The fabricated crowns will have a metallic surface but is acceptable given the strength, especially in posterior teeth, which take a heavy mastication load.

In cases of front teeth loss, the denture should almost always be a ceramic one, especially for cosmetic reasons. If the person cannot afford, a removable denture can be done.

The optimal denture should be chosen based on a number of factors including the functional and aesthetic expectations.

Caring for dentures: It depends on the types of dentures you choose.
Fixed dentures: This requires religious brushing, flossing or interdental brushing, and rinsing. The edges of the denture can put pressure on the gums and cause irritation, this needs to be watched for.

Removable dentures:

  1. Clean the dentures after every meal
  2. Be careful when handling them to avoid fall and breakage
  3. Handle the clasps with care, altered clasps may not fit properly
  4. Clean the bone and gums around the denture after each meal
  5. Soak the dentures overnight in water or a denture-soaking solution
  6. Avoid soaking it in hot water, can lead to warping of the denture plate
  7. Avoid hard brushing of the dentures

With any denture in the mouth, visit the dentist regularly every 6 months to keep a constant vigil on your overall dental health. Ill-fitting dentures, especially, need to be corrected immediately as they can lead to irritation, ulcers, and even infections.

With these small precautions, the denture can function to its optimal level and serve as a good replacement of the lost tooth. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a dentist.
