To gain weight you should eat more calories than you burn. Plus not only you have to eat calorie dense food but you have to keep in mind that what you are eating is healthy too. In the process of weight gain you do not want to put weight in an uneven manner and look unhealthy rather than looking bright and healthy. 1. Start with changing your lifestly. Start working out if you are not active. The biggest myth that prevails now a days is that thin people do not need to work out. This is wrong. When you challenge your body, it is forced to grow. But this growth can only be possible if you are eating enough food to let the body absorb and grow in size and muscles. 2. Eat Healthy – Stop drinking and smoking too much if you are indulged in it. Limit your intake of junk food, pepsi, sugary stuff etc. Do not at all starve yourself. Make it a habit to eat something healthy every 3 hours. This means you have to eat 6 small meals in a day. Your Daily food intake should ideally consist of – a. Have plenty of nuts, dry fuits and seeds. Almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, figs, dates and raisins. They are full of healthy fats needed by a human body. B. Good amount of fruits and vegetables – Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. C. If you are a non- vegetarian - Eat eggs, chicken etc. D. Eat whole grains – Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats, bajra, daliya etc should be taken in multiple meals in a day. E. Eat Sprouts – Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. F. You can supplement your diet with good quality multi-vitamin capsules. If you are lacking in protein, you can buy a high quality whey protein and have it with banana shake twice a day. G. You can take natural food items like wheat grass which is full of essential nutrients which helps in weight gain. Try to be patient while you are on the process of weight gain. Results take time to show. Just follow the regimen of weight gain religiously and you will soon start seeing the results.

Sleep deprivation can cause headache and this will further aggravate your insomnia producing a vicious cycle. To break this cycle take over the counter available analgesics like paracetamol 650 mg three times a day. Get good sleep after headache is relieved. If problem persists consult again.

Working late hrs--using laptop-mobile can cause neckpain, headache. Avoid it. Take tab thiospas a 4mg two/day. Use medium size pillow. Do neck and back exercise regularly.

How to tweak your skincare routine to fit the monsoon?

Now that we’re through with the summer’s heat, say hello to the rains—another season loaded with humidity and stickiness that can mess with your skin and hair, if not looked after well. So here are my tips to keep you glowing in the gloomy monsoon

Stay dry: an increase in humidity during the rains and getting drenched unprepared can wreak havoc on your skin and hair. If you do get wet, the first thing to do is to go straight for a shower, don’t let the water sit on your body or you could set yourself up for a fungal skin infection.

Clean up: use a soap-free, mild face cleanser as your skin can get itchy in the season. If you have dry skin, make sure you use a cream-based cleanser and if you have oily skin, it’s a good idea to wash your face 2 to 3
Times a day
Exfoliation is key: scrubbing your face two-three times a week will help you get rid of dead cells and clogged pores. However, make sure you use a mild scrub without any thick granules that can damage your skin. If you have normal or combination skin, you can also use an exfoliating face wash with glycolic or salicylic acid instead. For dry skin, use a moisturising scrub so you don’t dehydrate your skin.

Pay attention to ingredients: in your weekly face mask, look for ingredients like tea tree oil, aloe vera and neem to clear oily skin, or use a homemade concoction of honey, lemon and yoghurt for dry skin. Multani mitti also helps to rid your skin of dirt, while a mask with papaya helps get rid of tan.

Update your moisturiser: if you have dry skin and would normally use a cream-based one, swap it for a lotion if you’re going to be outdoors. People with oily skin should use a very light moisturiser (try a gel-based one) to avoid that heavy, sticky feeling.

No, you can’t skip sunscreen: even though most days are cloudy, don’t ditch your sunscreen during the rainy season. Make sure it’s spf30 or more and waterproof, and have it on every time you step out of the house.
Weather-proof your make-up: if you’re going to wear make-up in the rains, make sure it’s lightweight—anything cakey can cause acne—and ensure products like your eyeliner and mascara are waterproof. Mineral-based make-up is the best choice for the humid monsoon.

Protect your hair: you should wash your hair every time it is exposed to rain water, even if that means you have to do it every day. Use an sls-free shampoo and don’t forget to condition it.

You've heard it before, and you'll hear it again. That's because drinking 64 ounces of water daily is one of the easiest ways to speed up weight loss. Your body needs water in order to efficiently metabolize stored fat. When you shortchange your supply, you're likely to slow down that process, meaning it's more difficult for you to burn calories. An easy eight glasses a day (at least!) will keep your system running smoothly.
