Some oral diseases do not get detected until they reach their mature stage. Visiting a dentist at regular intervals would mean keeping constant tabs on your oral health.

For sensitive teeth bleaching is not prefered coz bleaching is an agent which contains acid so there r chances of oversensitivity. Yellow teeth you once use this toothpaste twice a week -snowdent.

Kindly get the depth of cavity checked by taking an xray. If the cavity is deep you might need a root canal treatment. If not deep then kindly get a filling done in the tooth.

Hi, My wife is pregnant and facing a problem of Saliva in mouth continuously. It's big irritation matter for her to take a good sleep because she has to go to washroom due to saliva in mouth continuously. What is the cause of this and also advise some solution for this.

PDDM, MHA, MBBS
General Physician, Nashik
Its not known what causes some women to have excessive salivation in early pregnancy, but hormonal changes may be a culprit. Also, nausea might make some women try to swallow less, causing saliva to build up in the mouth. Following measures are helpful: brush your teeth and use mouthwash several times a day. Eat frequent, small, well-balanced meals, and avoid excessive amounts of starchy food. Drink plenty of water. Keep a water bottle handy and take frequent small sips. Suck on hard candy or chew sugarless gum. This won't make you produce less saliva, but it will make it easier for you to swallow the saliva you do produce. Avoid sour candies and gum, as they can stimulate saliva production.

Hello, pain could be because of tooth decay or eruption of wisdom tooth, you need to visit a dentist and get it checked. Get an x-ray done if required. If there is cavity get it filled. If there is infection to the root of the tooth, you need to get it treated. If the pain is because of wisdom tooth you can do salt water rinses, this will give you temporary relief. If required get it removed.

Dear Lybrate user, gaps upto 3 mm can be effectively filled up using high quality tooth colored materials called composites. Gaps more than 5 mm require orthodontic (braces) treatment. A thorough treatment planning requires detailed clinical check up for which you may visit your local dentist. The dentist may also take a chair side x-ray to assess if there is any decay in the teeth. Otherwise the procedure is absolutely safe and can be done in a single sitting too.
