Yes. Mouth ulcers left untreated generally go away in a week or so; with these home remedies, you can expect faster relief. However, if you notice an ulcer in the mouth that is persistently present although it does not cause you any pain, do not neglect it or try to treat it with home remedies beyond a few days. Make it a point to see a doctor soon because often, a painless mouth ulcer is one of the earliest signs of oral cancer.

I m 19 years old. And I m suffering from hair losses and shanking of teeth. My hair become a thin and weak. Every time when I comb or rub finger in head, hair fall occur. Suggest me what I should do? Suggest shampoo to prevent hair loss. I also have gum problems. My teeth are shaking and blood leaked from gum. About a 1 one year ago I suddenly loss my weight to 10 kgs. Is it reasons for this kind of problems? If yes what I should have to do? Sorry for bad English.

MD - Dermatology
Dermatologist, Pathanamthitta
Please visit a physician and dentist and have your blood tested at the earliest. Dandruff and hair fall are not the primary problems now. Use a mild antidandruff shampoo available commercially now. Hair fall is mainly due to hormonal and genetic factors. There are no homeremedies that vil help or quick responses for it. It can definitely be controlled. It's important to eat plenty of pulses, fish, meat and milk. Drink at least two litres water everyday. Exercise regularly. Don't stress out because you don't have long hair or because your hair's falling. Avoid all forms of chemicals, hot devices and blowdryers to prevent hair damage. Massage scalp and wash twice or thrice a week. Don't overshampoo, it'll spoil hair. Don't tie up wet hair and sleep, it'll get infected. If any infections, g et it treated. A thorough blood check up is needed to eliminate autoimmune, hormonal and nutritional diseases. Apart from this, treatment may b needed in resistant cases for which you can consult on the private platform.

I have pain in lower canines only and not anywhere else in mouth and I have took pain killer twice tomorrow but the pain is not going. I even stopped having sour food and rice. But pain is persistent from 4-5 days.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Sir, medication will not solve or cure the problem which is causing pain. Pain means an infection may have spread deep inside the tooth, to the inner layers. It could be decay, which is the most common cause for the pain. Please visit a dentist to get a permanent solution for the pain.

Hello, yellow teeth could be because of deposits on your teeth. Get your scaling and polishing done from a dentist. Brush twice daily, floss regularly and rinse after every meal.

I have a mouth ulcer. Please advice me what I have to do to overcome this problem. I am facing this problem since last 10 days.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
If the mouth ulcer is causing a lot of pain, gently rub a small ice cube over the spot or rinse your mouth with ice-cold water. You could also chew on a clove bud (lavang) and direct the juice generated to the area where the ulcer is located. Clove buds are a great ingredient to cure sore throat too. To prevent the ulcerated area from getting infected, make it a point to rinse your mouth with a little salt water. Remember, this won’t make the ulcer disappear, but it can help reduce the pain. Honey is a natural humectant. It helps reduce scarring and hastens the process of new tissue growth. This, along with its anti-microbial effect ensures faster healing of the mouth ulcer. Chew a few leaves of tulsi along with some water about three to four times every day. This will help in getting rid of ulcers faster and also have a preventive action against their recurrence. Applying a little coconut oil directly onto the mouth ulcer or chewing some coconut (fresh or dry) helps reduce pain and inflammation and hence, ulcers heal faster. Mix some sugar to crushed khus-khus seeds and consume this mixture for instant relief from ulcers. You could apply a little ghee directly to the ulcerated area, or drink a glass of buttermilk two or three times every day. Mouth ulcers left untreated generally go away in a week or so; with these home remedies, you can expect faster relief. However, if you notice an ulcer in the mouth that is persistently present although it does not cause you any pain, do not neglect it or try to treat it with home remedies beyond a few days. Kind of toothbrush to be used by adults: We recommend a brush with soft bristles which helps in removing the plaque and debris thoroughly from the mouth.

Cold water, soft drinks n alcoholic beverages causes dehydration in your body. Better to take food n drinks at room temperature. Avoid alcohol in summer at least. Drink enough of fresh fruit juices n water to remain hydrated. Just check for any kind of throat infection.

I am having pain in my wisdom teeth, this is started from last 1 year ,some times their is no pain but sometimes I have pain.

BDS
Dentist, Delhi
Pain is because of swelling due to food lodgement in that wisdom teeth area. Get your full mouth xray (opg) done from radiology lab and consult your dentist for status of wisdom teeth. Whether teeth can erupt or will just trouble you after every couple of months.

I'm having severe toothache, filling came out and infection is very high. I am taking cap-mox and tab- crocin which gives me mild relief for 2 3 hrs only. I am 4 months pregnant. Can I go for tooth extraction or RCT at this stage? Will it affect my baby?

Yes root canal is a safe module in pragnancy. But extraction may be harmful. Just o for root canal treatment. Medications you r taking is harmful to your foetus at this time. Avoid medications and go for root canal at your nearby dentist.

I have some problem in my face and jaw allergies or heat Katti i dont know how to solve.

BHMS
Homeopath, Chennai
In Allopathy, anti-histaminics or immunosuppressant medicines like steroids are used which only give temporary relief, with the problem returning once the medicine is stopped. On the other hand, during Homeopathy treatment of allergy is cured by strengthening the immune system and the symptoms subside on their own. At the same time, it needs to be understood that this is purely natural allergy treatment. No steroids or anti allergic medicines are used. The immunity is strengthened by Homeopathy instead of being suppressed as happens with allopathic treatment. You can easily take an online consultation for further treatment guidance.

My teeth is shaking I had do root canal for my that teeth. And now my that teeth is paining because of shaking so please suggest me what should I do now. I had also done my root canal treatment. For my that teeth.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hi, if there is pain in the same tooth in which root canal treatment was got done, then the cause could be secondary infection which causing pain or else the cap (if you have got it fitted) is not of proper size and that is irritating the surrounding area. Visit your dentist again to know the exact cause of pain as well as the condition of your tooth. For the time being to alleviate the pain, apply homoeopathic medicine - plantago q/ few drops on cotton swab, place it on the affected tooth/ teeth and press it tightly, do it thrice a day. Orally, take mag. Phos. 6x/ after every 2 hours. Home-remedies: -rub a few drops of clove oil or can even press 2-3 cloves in between the teeth on the affected tooth several times daily until the ache goes away. -rub a few drops on the affected tooth several times daily until the ache goes away. -apply a cool compress to outside of mouth or cheek. -mix 1 tsp of salt in a glass of warm water. Rinse your mouth with saltwater. Swirl it around in your mouth and spit it out. Make sure that you don't swallow. -soak a cotton ball in a mixture of a few drops of garlic clove oil and a small amount of olive oil, and apply the cotton ball to the area of pain.

I have something wrong in tongue from inside and I have indigestion problem I am alwAys feel sick and sleepiness.

MDS
Dentist, Kolkata
Hello lybrate-user, if you are feeling sick and sleepy for a long time you should get your blood sugar level checked both fasting and post prandial (after meal). Juvenile diabetes is very common at your age. You can also check HbAc (glycated hamoglobin level) which determines since when is your blood glucoae level altered. About your tongue, it can be fungal infection (which are common in diabetic individual) and can be easily treated by few antifungal medication. As far as indigestion is concerned change your lifestyle have food on time, avoid junk foods. Avoid long gaps between the meals. Hope this is helpful.

Sir/ madam This is about my cousin. He is 7 year old. His mouth is smelling bad, and his teeth colour changes white to yellow progressively. From last 4 month. Sir please suggest me what can I do.

BDS
Dentist, Batala
Hello bad smell in so young age is not a good condition. Yellowish teeth can be the reason behind it but its important to check that the teeth are getting yellower or some yellow deposits are present. Deposits can be cleaned very easily by dentist and smell will be gone after that.
