I have under eye dark circles from last 3-4 months. I have used many under eye creams but it doesn't effect.
treating dark circles around eyes 1.Drinking lots of water is good 2.Take nutritious and timely food. 3.Avoid fried foods and eat fruits, nuts, greens, milk and whole grains. 4.Have timely and adequate sleep. This is one of the major reasons for sagging of skin 5.Be relaxed and avoid tension 6.Daily jogging or such exercise to ensure good blood circulation which helps nutrients reaching the skin and face. Facial massage will also promote good circulation. 7.Don?t expose to hot direct sun. Wear cap, full sleeve shirt and shoes which will protect you from sun.. Generally 10 AM to 4 PM is the hottest. Avoid exposure at that time. 8. When you apply any cream, sun screen and the like, clean your face at the earliest, so that there will be no adverse action of the chemicals on the delicate skin of face. Your skin ?breaths? through its pores which are not to be closed for long. Keep hydrated by drinking water and preferring juicy fruits. Your complexion will improve and dark rings will disappear.

Atopic means allergic tendency and dermatitis means inflammation of skin. Allergy may be of different things, may be eadible things or any soap, perfume or any thing. I shall suggest you must go for proper homoeopathic treatment. First go for allergy test, then avoid the things to which he is allergic. Now you go for homoeopathic treatment. Gradually he can eat every things over a time.

No medicine can increase your height until there is a pathology there which needs to ne treated. If the developmental milestones were not proper baryta and other homeopathic meds can definitely work. But the symptoms should guide. Homeopathy goes never against nature. However, rich protein diet, dairy products and sports definitely help to grow, researches suggest.

Dear lybrate user, you may be suffering from a clinical condition called paraphimosis. The most conventional method to get rid of it is surgery. However, if you are unwilling to undergo surgery then you can try the following process at home. 1) buy any local anaesthetic gel (e. G. Lidocaine, lignocaine, xylocaine) from allopathic retail shop. 2) apply a little amount of that anaesthetic gel at the lower part of the prepuce of penis where the foreskin remains attached. 3) after application of the gel, retract the foreskin backwards as far as you can. Due to the anaesthetic property of the gel you will be able to retract the foreskin backwards to some extent more than you can do in normal condition. 4) release the foreskin when you feel pain 5) again repeat the same process. Do it continuously for at least 30 minutes in a day. Within a month you will feel that your foreskin has become loose.

In order to enhance your skin you need to take care of your skin from outside. You may use a cream or moisturizer that contains Alpha Hydroxy Acid's (AHA's) like glycolic acid, lactic acid etc. AHA's exfoliate superficial dead skin cells and renew it with newer younger cells. Continued use of AHA's keeps skin in a state of continued renewal. This renewed skin is healthier, lighter and brighter. You may also opt for a few sessions of chemical peeling, particularly glycolic peel, from nearest approachable dermatologist. Glycolic peel utilizes a higher concentration of glycolic acid as compared to that present in creams/ moisturizers. The concentration that is available in peels is 20%, 35% 50% and 70%. Whereas creams contain just 6%, 8% or 10% of glycolic acid. I also suggest you to use a broad spectrum sunscreen, throughout the day. It should have both UVA as well as UV B coverage. Regular use of broad spectrum sunscreen would prevent tanning and also delay skin ageing i.e appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Some sunscreens are also fortified with vitamin C which has skin lightening as well as antiageing properties. Besides topical creams and chemical peeling sessions you may also take a few sessions of microdermabrasion to achieve the desired results. I suggest you to visit a dermatologist in your vicinity for more details and the needful. Regards.

Cam GID (gender identity disorder) be cured? I mean can that feeling be treated to not to undergo transition?

Cam GID (gender identity disorder) be cured? I mean can that feeling be treated to not to undergo transition?
Dear Lybrate User, Every person has his/her own unique gender identity and sexual inclination. In India, our laws and culture do not allow us to talk openly about it. Hence a person with GID can be under lot stress. There is no cure as such for GID, because that is what the person feels and the feelings cannot be challenged. It is advisable for the person with GID to consult a Sexologist/Counsellor and get proper assessment done. Once the assessment is done, these professionals will help in coping up with the reality and acceptance.

Mr. lybrate-user, Diabetes can only be treated effectively with modern medicines. The drugs or various therapies advertised by alternate medical practices have very little role to play in treating diabetes. Unfortunately a lot lofty claims are made, but there are no supportive clinical studies. Sometimes, certain medications are used as a supportive or additional therapies. The real benefit is a big question mark. At best those are just supportive drugs. Thanks.

Hello,Homoeopathic medicines are less invasive and have more herbal approach towards gaining the weight. Thrice a day, half an hour before meals. 2. Calcarea phos 200, 5 drops , once in aweek , morning empty stomach for 2 weeks. 3. Take eggs, milk, butter, bananas, potatoes, mangoes, figs, oats, soyabean and dry fruits. 4. do light exercises regularly to keep your body active. To combat stress and anxiety shall one take multivitamin or a good nutritional supplement daily and are there any side effects of taking a nutritional supplement daily for a longer period of time.

Only certain vitamins and nutrients are said to have good effects on anxiety and stress. However there is no documentary evidence to substantiate these findings. There is no harm in taking some vitamins like the ones of b complex group because these are water soluble and can be easily washed out from the body. But whether they are useful for daily use is questionable. Some other nutrients like vitamin a and vitamin d may accumulate in body if taken unnecessarily or in larger amounts. Hence it is advisable to use any supplement under the supervision of a doctor only.

Balance in diet and not isolated supplementation will create harmony within and without
Balance in diet and not isolated supplementation will create harmony within and without.
It may seem very simple, but these 6 rules will really make a difference in your uptake, absorption and utilisation of nutrients from food.
1 eat five different colored fruits and vegetables daily.
2 eat seeds or foods made from seeds.
3 eat plant foods with their skins intact.
4 drink milk and eat milk products.
5 eat organic, seasonal and local foods.
6 avoid foods made in a plant.
A discipline is all we need.

To gain weight you should eat more calories than you burn. Plus not only you have to eat calorie dense food but you have to keep in mind that what you are eating is healthy too. In the process of weight gain you do not want to put weight in an uneven manner and look unhealthy rather than looking bright and healthy. 1. Start with changing your lifestly. Start working out if you are not active. The biggest myth that prevails now a days is that thin people do not need to work out. This is wrong. When you challenge your body, it is forced to grow. But this growth can only be possible if you are eating enough food to let the body absorb and grow in size and muscles. 2. Eat Healthy – Stop drinking and smoking too much if you are indulged in it. Limit your intake of junk food, pepsi, sugary stuff etc. Do not at all starve yourself. Make it a habit to eat something healthy every 3 hours. This means you have to eat 6 small meals in a day. Your Daily food intake should ideally consist of – a. Have plenty of nuts, dry fuits and seeds. Almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, figs, dates and raisins. They are full of healthy fats needed by a human body. b. Good amount of fruits and vegetables – Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. c. If you are a non- vegetarian - Eat eggs, chicken etc. d. Eat whole grains – Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats, bajra, daliya etc should be taken in multiple meals in a day. e. Eat Sprouts – Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. f. You can supplement your diet with good quality multi-vitamin capsules. If you are lacking in protein, you can buy a high quality whey protein and have it with banana shake twice a day. g. You can take natural food items like wheat grass which is full of essential nutrients which helps in weight gain. Try to be patient while you are on the process of weight gain. Results take time to show. Just follow the regimen of weight gain religiously and you will soon start seeing the results.

Dear sir I have pain on my back from last month. The pain becomes more in night. What are the solutions for back pain?

BHMS

Dear sir I have pain on my back from last month. The pain becomes more in night. What are the solutions for back pain?
I suggest you follow the below for your condition: Take Mag Phos 6x - thrice daily for next 2 weeks and update. Also do x-ray of the affected area. Heat and Ice Packs. Heat and/or cold therapy helps relieve most types of low back pain by reducing inflammation. Often patients use ice, but some prefer heat. Both may be used alternately.

Hi lybrate-user- it could be carpal tunnel syndrome- where a nerve is getting pinched in the wrist producing numbness/ tingling/ weakness in the hand (first three fingers are usually affected). An EMG/ NCS can diagnose appropriately.

It might be an allergic reaction. The lashes should come back in sometime. But best would be to see a dermatologist. If it's a case of alopecia areata, you ll need to be treated.

Definately you can have braces onto your teeth. But the time of results to show will only be decided by the severity of your uneven teeth. But they do require a minimum of 6 months atleast. You can get your braces on & still go to abroad. Have a happy treatment.

I am underweight, though I eat a lot still my weight does not increase. What shall I do?

PGDD, RD, Bachelor of Home Science
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Mumbai
I am underweight, though I eat a lot still my weight does not increase. What shall I do?
Hye, Thanks for the query. Firstly understand that weight gain is very dependent on genetics and metabolism. It's possible you are not eating the right foods as per the body's needs. It is important to know that just eating just two heavy meals a day will not help. Eating the right foods at the right time is very important. Eat meals at frequent intervals. Try to manage at least 6 calorie dense meals in a day. This is important to manage the high metabolism. Eat a mid meal between each main meal. Avoid junk foods. Include dairy, eggs, nuts, fruits in your meals. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Exercise at least thrice a week. Even if you were to take medicines or supplements they will be of no use if your diet is not fixed. You need to have a calorie and nutrient dense meal before you even go for a supplement.
