Intrinsic stains are difficult to impossible to treat at home while extrinsic stains can be treated. So in your case cause must be diagnosed by an expert in oral medicine and radiology.

For last one year my tongue is having some burning, redness, crack etc. It is not regular but in morning hours it little bit more. I had had some ayurveda medicine for ulcer but felt no difference. I consume alcohol, not more than one peg. Some time I keep tobacco bet lips but not a habit. Some alopathic med also took but in vain. Kindly advice. Motion little bit uneven.

Tobacco, alcohol, hot spicy foods will not help you anymore to cure your burning, redness of your tongue. Put yastimadhu powder to your tongue frequently 3-4 times/day. and drink plain butter milk after lunch everyday. With this you need some medicine also. To correct your digestive system.

Hi I had my root canal 6 months before now I experience pain when chewing antibiotics help me for few days but later same problem arises.

MD - Homeopathy, BHMS
Homeopath, Vadodara
Root canal is kind of a cleaning of carries teeth. And not always successful if the carries spread to other teeth. And the pain is usually because of the gingival inflammation. Either you should consult the dentist again or consult for a homoeopathic treatment. You may try taking homoeopathic medicine Myristica 30 3 doses 1 hourly and then report after 2 days.

I have dental problem. When I wakeup in the morning my breath smalls so bad. It can me due to stomach problem?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
•Eat a healthy, balanced diet and avoid eating strongly flavoured or spicy food. •Cut down on sugary food and drink, as it can increase the amount of bacteria in your mouth. •Reduce your alcohol consumption. •Stop smoking. •Cut down on coffee. •Drink plenty of water to help prevent your mouth becoming dry. •Chew sugar-free gum after eating, to stimulate the flow of saliva. This will help clean away any remaining food particles. •Don't use toothpaste to clean your dentures, as it can scratch the surface and cause stains. •Clean your dentures thoroughly using soap and lukewarm water, denture cream or a denture-cleaning tablet. •Use a separate toothbrush to clean your dentures. •Make sure you visit your dentist for regular check-ups. Having regular dental check-ups will ensure that any plaque is removed from your teeth, particularly in areas that are difficult to reach. •Your dentist can recommend the best way to clean your teeth and gums, and point out areas you might be missing. They can also identify any signs of gum disease and ensure early treatment. •Gastritis, lung & sinus infection may also be the cause of bad smell in the mouth. 90% of bad breath is due to a dirty tongue. •If your bad breath is caused by a gastrointestinal problem, such as an H. Pylori infection or gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), you may be referred to a gastroenterologist. •Persistent bad breath or a bad taste in the mouth may be a warning sign of gum (periodontal) disease. Gum disease is caused by the buildup of plaque on teeth. •You may need deep cleaning & fill tooth cavities with artificial enamel filling. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. You may consult me in person.

I am 29 years old, I just want to know how to avoid bad breath its very embarrassing, when people go away from me when I speak, I do brush thoroughly every morning sometime there will be bleeding and also I cannot eat sweets n deserts because of sensitivity. 2 years before I visited to dentist he removed my last right side tooth of the mouth saying its all damaged also he said remove left side last tooth as well but then I stopped him because it was very painful and I am scared of other tooth will get disturbed and he also cleaned all my teeth after that he said now there will not be bleeding and also no bad breath but it was not so effective. Please advice some helpful tips to avoid bad breath. Thanks.

Dentist, Gurgaon
you were treated correctly at that time faisal, but only treatment is not enough. bleeding gums and bad breath are due to deposition of plaque and calculus around teeth. professional cleaning removes this and hence treats the cause. but even after treatment, not following the oral hygiene habits properly can reestablish the disease. visit a dentist every 6 months for professional cleaning of your teeth, brush 2 times a day, floss your teeth, rinse your mouth after every meal, eat healthy food and drink a lots of water. I advise you to visit a dentist and get your teeth cleaned again as it was 2 years ago you went for the same and then strictly follow the oral hygiene habits.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Kindly consult an oral & maxillofacial surgeon in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations (full mouth x-ray, tmj open & closed mouth) & clinical examination to decide upon treatment. Until then have soft diet. Replace posterior teeth if they are missing. Advise mouth opening exercise & side to side movement of the jaw.

Proper cleaning of the mouth on a daily basis is very necessary. Besides brushing and tongue cleaning, flossing deep into the areas between the teeth and under the gumline, where the toothbrush cannot reach is equally important.

A dental crown is a tooth shaped cap that is placed over a tooth to cover the tooth to restore its shape, size, strength & improve its appearance. The crowns when cemented in to place, fully encase the entire visible portion of a tooth that lies at & above the gum line.

Which type of medicine are used in mouth opening because my mouth is not properly open and not eating any spicy food.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Quit habits strictly. Seems like you have oral submucous fibrosis (osmf). Kindly consult an oral & maxillo facial surgeon in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need conservative or surgical management for mouth opening depending upon the stage of osmf. Advise full mouth opening, ballooning exercise & side to side movement of the jaw. Wrap 25 to 30 ice-cream sticks, make a bundle, put it between upper & lower front teeth for 15 minutes thrice a day increase 1 sticks each day.

When I eat sweets and drink cool water I will get teeth pain and bleeding. Why? please give me remedy for that.

BDS
Dentist, Vadodara
Teeth pain while eating sweet n drinking cold drinks can be due to decay in tooth. Get your teeth x-rayed to determine the extent of decay. For bleeding gums, go for scaling and polishing.

Hi. I'm 23 My teeth are loosing their whiteness it's getting pale and now now I'm having sensitivity issue whether I drink or eat both hot and cold it pains a bit. Can you suggest me to make my teeth white back again with no sensitivity problem?

BDS
Dentist, Kolar
I can tackle sensitivity using desensitizing mouthwashes n desensitizing toothpastes. Go for scalling n polishing of your teeth to removed dirt n stains off your teeth. However you can go for bleaching of your teeth to lighten your teeth by 2-3shades but bleaching can increase your teeth sensitivity. Using whitening toothpaste can also increase sensitivity.

Sometimes there are some fafola grew in side my mouth. After 3-4 days it become clear automatically. Is there any solution.

BDS
Dentist, Bangalore
It looks like you have problem of ulcers. There are so many causes of mouth ulcers like- -stress or tissue injury is thought to be the cause of simple mouth ulcers. -certain foods, including citrus or acidic fruits and vegetables (such as lemons, oranges, pineapples, apples, figs, tomatoes and strawberries), can trigger a mouth ulcer. -sometimes a sharp tooth surface also trigger mouth ulcers. -some cases of complex mouth ulcers are caused by an underlying health condition, such as an impaired immune system; nutritional problems, such as vitamin b-12, zinc, folic acid, or iron deficiency and gastrointestinal tract disease, such as coeliac disease and crohn's disease. -when you first quit smoking, you may develop more mouth ulcers than normal, but this is temporary. Usually ulcer heals by itself only within 1 week. You can take'becosule capsule' once in a day for 1 week for faster recovery. Temporarily you can apply mucopain gel over ulcer for relief.

Once your teeth r damaged by cavities they cannot b treated with medicines but require definitive treatment by dentist such as filling or rct n capping if the cavities r extensive. Donot ignore them n visit a dentist at the earliest.
