This is a problem raised very late as weaning starts at the age of 5 months when liquid ate started then slowly semisolids are introduced but from history it appears that you are just in phase 1 that only liquids she is taking you need to start slowly semisolids and then solids you need to start it ok.

This is called somnambulism and you wake her up in walk and there is no medicine needed Medical Treatment for Sleepwalking. If sleepwalking is caused by underlying medical conditions, such as gastroesophageal reflux, obstructive sleep apnea, seizures, periodic leg movements, or restless legs syndrome, sleepwalking episodes should stop once the underlying medical condition is treated.

Keep giving her ORS continuously so that she does not suffer fluid loss. You may give her curd in diet. And as a medicine you may give her homoeopathic medicine Arsenic ALb 30 1 dose after each stool. Ans stop if the frequency decreases.

lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. I have seen the details and understand the concern. Unfortunately T1 DM or even T2 DM both are not curable condition. In T1 the girl has to be given Insulin injections to control blood glucose as well as for her survival. So it is essential for you to get in touch with a diabetologist who is handling T1 diabetes patient on regular basis. It is going to be quite tough to manage for a first few months. In Hyderabad I sure there are quite a few endocrinologists or diabetologist exclusively dealing with T1 diabetes kids. Please get in touch with one of those and put the girl under his/her care. Thanks.

Child Sex Abuse: WHO Stipulates Guidelines On Its Response!

MBBS
General Physician, Fatehabad
Child Sex Abuse: WHO Stipulates Guidelines On Its Response!

On how to respond to children and adolescents who have been sexually abused, the World Health Organization has come up with clinical guidelines on the same. The guidelines mention recommendations for the healthcare providers who may directly receive a victim of sexual abuse or may identify sexual abuse during the course of diagnosis and treatment. These frontline healthcare providers include general practitioners, gynaecologists, paediatricians and nurses.

The short-term as well as long-term mental health impact, as highlighted by WHO, of sexual abuse on children are:

  1. Post-traumatic stress
  2. Anxiety
  3. Depression
  4. Eating disorders
  5. Problems with relationships
  6. Sleep disorder
  7. Suicidal behaviour

The new WHO guidelines focus on recommendations and good practice suggestions in terms of:

  1. Disclosure made by the child
  2. Obtaining medical history
  3. Conducting physical examinations and forensic investigations
  4. Documenting findings
  5. Offering preventive treatment for HIV post-exposure
  6. Pregnancy prevention, and other sexually transmitted diseases
  7. Psychological, mental health interventions among others

It's called as nipple confusion. So never mix the habit of two. Give exclusive breast feeds not bottle at all. Give cup spoon feed if not taking breast feeds.
