My father is suffering from paralisis and unable to speak for 4 years (age 60 years. What should I do ?

DM - Neurology, MD - General Medicine, MBBS
Neurologist, Ghaziabad
Your father is probably suffering from stroke affecting left side of the brain. At times in cases of large strokes, the recovery of speecch is slow or guarded. Patients can be benefited by speech therapy depending on the condition. Further can be advised only after examining the patient. Wish your father a speedy recovery.

My wife is 45 years old, she is suffering from dis cognitive seiziers and 4 episodes are seen from 22 octomber to till date. Ct scane, eeg are normal. Oxetol 300 mg is sugested. Please tell me the resion and remidy ?

DM - Neurology, MD - General Medicine, MBBS
Neurologist, Ghaziabad
Discognitive seizure must have been diagnosed by a neurologist. Mri brain is the ideal investigation tool in case of seizures. If patient is having seizures despite being on one anti epilepsy treatment, the dose of medicaiton needs to be modified. You should consult a neurologist or the doctor who has already prescribed oxetol.

Coma due to hypoxia can be a critical condition. It is not possible to comment about the duration of coma and treatment options without going through the medical records or examining the patient.

Please advise for life time recovery I also walking, cycling, seeming and yoga pl also advise for reproduction of dopamine thanks sir

Neurologist, Ghaziabad
There is no known medication which can lead to life time recovery in Parkinson disease. Syndopa is not a pain killer, it only replaces dopa in body which is deficient in patients of Parkinson disease. Long term usage of syndopa can lead to certain expected side effects and in that case you need to consult your neurologist so that dose of medication can be modified. Yes, cycling, walking and yoga will be helpful for your disease and it is advisable that you should continue with same.
