My mother (55 yrs) started to have brown dot type something in her ankle almost more than a year ago, earlier we thought that this is side effect of some medicine. But as the days passed by the dots became bigger. Several big patches appeared of same nature. Although it does not pain nor it causes any trouble, but what is that anyway, how to cure it. Dear lybrate-user, She needs some basic blood tests like platelet count. If it is normal, she should then see a skin specialist to confirm diagnosis. All the Best.

Hi take ginger tea mixed with 2-3 crushed garlic cloves. Massaging the chest with warm sesame oil mixed with salt helps to loosen the phlegm deposited in the chest, especially, when followed with steam inhalation. Take shwas kuthar ras twice a day. Sciatica Pain - Causes And Symptoms!

Sciatica Pain - Causes And Symptoms!

Sciatica is defined as pain or discomfort associated with the sciatic nerve which runs from the lower back, down the back of the legs to the feet. It most commonly occurs in adults aged 20 to 60 years. It is estimated that up to 40% of the new zealand population will experience sciatica at some point in their lives.

Causes

The sciatic nerve is the largest and longest nerve in the body. It originates in the lower spine, branches into the pelvis, then travels through the buttocks, down the back of the legs and branches into the lower legs and feet. Sciatic pain occurs when there is pressure on, or damage to, the sciatic nerve.

The most common cause of sciatica is disc prolapse (also known as disc herniation or slipped disc). This occurs when one of the soft, gel-filled discs between the vertebrae of the spine bulges or ruptures, compressing and/or irritating the sciatic nerve.
Muscle spasms can also cause sciatica by compressing the sciatic nerve as it travels through the muscles. One such condition is piriformis syndrome, where the piriformis muscle irritates the sciatic nerve. Other less common causes of sciatica include:

In older age groups, sciatica commonly occurs as the result of conditions caused by spinal degeneration, such as spinal stenosis. This is where the pathways through which the sciatic nerve travels are narrowed. Again, this causes compression and/or irritation of the sciatic nerve.

Factors that increase the likelihood of developing sciatica include.

  • Age
  • Pregnancy
  • Being overweight
  • Smoking
  • Jobs that involve twisting of the back or carrying heavy loads
  • Sitting for long periods.

Essentially, any injury or process which causes compression of the sciatic nerve can cause sciatic pain. In many cases however, no specific cause for the sciatic pain can be identified.

Signs and symptoms.

  • The pain caused by sciatica can range from being mild to very severe. It can occur suddenly or have a gradual onset. Sciatic pain is commonly described as a cramp-like pain that can be burning or sharp in nature. It may be associated with sensations such as pins and needles, tingling, numbness and weakness.
  • Sciatic pain is typically felt in the lower back and hip and radiates down the back of one leg. The characteristic that distinguishes it from other types of back pain is that the pain travels below the knee. The pain may be aggravated by specific actions, such as sneezing, coughing, lifting or sitting.
  • Pain and symptoms are usually most severe in the early stages of the condition, when compression and inflammation of the sciatic nerve are at their greatest. It is common for the pain to gradually reduce after this time until it resolves completely - usually within four to eight weeks.
  • In rare cases compression of the sciatic nerve can be so severe that there is progressive weakness in the legs and/or loss of bowel and bladder function. If these symptoms are experienced, medical attention should be sought immediately as they can signal severe nerve damage.

I feel shortness of breath from sometime. It is not regular. It is not so severe. I have gastric problem also with it. I feel I can not take deep breath mostly after meal or at night. I feel heaviness below chest.

MD - Pulmonary Medicine, DAA (Allergy)

Hi Lybrate-user One of the causes for breathing difficulty can be Gastric problem. In such cases treatment of Gastric problem relieves breathing difficulty. You may have to take medicine for GERD like PPI or ranitidine. You also need to regularise your eating habits, avoid spicy foods. In any case it is better to get yourself checked by doctor to make sure you are not aufFeering from other causes for breathing difficulty like asthma.

Fungal/bacterial infections gave almost the same symptoms. Take a complete oral course of medicine, along with applying anti fungal. Do not use soap or fragrant products on the area. Use warm water to rinse and then pat dry while bathing. Avoid tight and synthetic clothing.

Is there any good reliable medicine/capsule(with less side effect) to more longer sex duration during sex intercourse? if available, what's the name and procedure?

MD Psychiatry

If ejaculation occurs within two minutes of penetration or even before penetration only then it is considered abnormal. Average time between penetration and ejaculation can vary widely between individuals (3 to 5 minutes is average). If it is less than that consult a psychiatrist for medicines and techniques to prolong the duration of the intercourse.

It's natural to have pain after having sex for 2 hours at a stretch. It will relieve on its own on relaxation. There is no standard number to be considered normal for the number of times you should have sex in an hour or in a day. Sex is always a personal choice, be it the way or the number of times you do it. So as in your case too, if you are comfortable with it, it's perfectly okay.

The sperm production is an automatic system of the body. What you can possibly do is to lead a very health lifestyle so that you do not interfere with the natural hormone system of the body. Maintain good health by exercising everyday . Learn Yoga as it can bring a balance between all the organ systems of the body. Support your health with healthy food ( more natural foods like fruits and vegetables everyday ). Avoid alcohol and tobacco and other stimulants. Avoid stress by doing something relaxing ( any hobby ) . Sleep sufficiently so that the body gets enough rest to repair and produces the hormones at the optimum level. All these issues are important and should be adhered to with sincerity. There are no shortcuts cuts ( through usage of tonics or supplements ).

My mother was suffering from pain in the left leg since 1 year. She is a diabetic. She suffered a massive heart attack and collapsed in the hospital after a day of admission. She was 88 years old. Angioplasty was suggested but due to her age it was deferred. Please let me know if the leg pain would have been a pad or dvt which caused the acute MI. Her lipids were within normal a month back before her death. If pci was done would she be saved.

Blue Fingernails Can be Indicative of: Argyria - A condition caused by exposure to chemical compounds of the element silver. Hepatolenticular degeneration (Wilson's disease) Raynaud's disease - The fingers and toes blanch, then turn blue and may become numb or painful on exposure to cold. Septicemia - Also known as bacteremia or blood poisoning. Septicemia occurs when a bacterial infection enters the bloodstream. Lung and breathing problems - Including asthma, emphysema, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, chronic bronchitis and other respiratory disorders. Blue fingernails may represent a type of cyanosis caused by a lower level of lack of circulating oxygen in the red blood cells. May also represent a high level of an abnormal form of hemoglobin in the circulation. If normal color returns upon warming and/or massage, the cause is due to the body part not getting enough blood supply due to cold, constriction (of the tissues or the blood vessels that supply the tissues) or some other reason. If the fingernails remain blue, then there may be an underlying disease or structural abnormality interfering with the body's ability to deliver oxygenated red blood cells to the body.

Non hodgkin lymphoma has its own side effects as of medicine, chemo etc. Pl see that there's'dhatu kshay' in it. Dhatus - the seven elements are responsible for overall health. Deterioration leads to shukra kshay i. E. Loss of semen or say weakness of semen. Ayurveda has strong belief in this theory. You are advised to take our saptadhatu nourishment package similar to our sex enhancer package with ed and pe management. But we also advise to add additional suvarn and vajra (gold and diamond) preparations for such problems during chemo. It will help in lymphoma too. But treatment is very costly. Improvement is assured.
