I have a pain in my back from 1 week what should I do?

Mch orthopaedic, DNB (Orthopedics), Diploma In Orthopaedics (D. Ortho), MBBS
Orthopedist,
Hi I am from max hospital and I would like to answer your query. Its most likely to be mechanical back pain. Get an x-ray done and if x-ray is normal means there is no any secondary or pathological cause of your back pain. So if you had mechanical back pain, the following measures will help: you have to do back exercises regularly lie on hard bed correct your posture while sitting avoid prolonged sitting avoid lifting heavy weights. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail in a private consultation.

I am 34 year old male have joint pain what should I do.

Mch orthopaedic, DNB (Orthopedics), Diploma In Orthopaedics (D. Ortho), MBBS
Orthopedist,
Hi, repeated joint pains can be due to multiple causes at this age the commonest being poly arthralgia. For proper diagnosis, some of the blood tests are advisable like- 1. Serum calcium levels. 2. Serum uric acid levels. 3. Ra factor 4. Esr and crp 5. Serum creatinine 6. X-ray of affected joints. Till then for symptomatic relief, you can take over the counter analgesics, do hot fomentation and apply local analgesic gel on the affected areas. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail in a private consultation.

Hi I am Dr. Saurabh gupta from max hospital and I would like to answer your query. It is due to nerve compression. You need to get an mri scan of the area done. Meanwhile you can follow these measures: - if the pain is severe, you need bed rest till the pain resolves. - get some analgesics prescribed and apply analgesic spray or ointments. - while resting, keep a pillow under your knees if it doesn't bother you. - avoid lifting heavy objects. - back strengthening exercises and stretching exercises daily as advised by a physiotherapist. - avoid exercises in times of pain. - improvise your posture while sitting. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail in a private consultation.

The reason may be due to defeciency od nutrients or due to vascular compromise or due to any pressure effect. 1. So you can take multi vitamin supplements consisting of pyridoxine, methyl cobalamine with pregabalin. This supplements will help you in the prevention of symptoms. 2. Hi doctors, my father age-76 have suffering pain on knee and doctor suggest for knee replacement for gaping. Can you suggest other option to relief him. He is taken pill for pain and many type of balm.

Hi, I would like to answer your query. Your father pain is due to arthritis. For osteoarthritis, weight reduction is the main treatment along with medicines to decrease pain like nsaid's - paracetamol, aceclofenac etc, life style modifications like avoiding sitting cross legged, squatting, using indian type toilets will decrease the rate of progression of osteoarthritis. Exercises like quadriceps strengthening, swimming, straight leg raising will help in improving the muscle strength around the knee and will help in decreasing pain. Hyaluronic acid injections given into the joint (especially large joints like knee joint) in prescribed dosages will give good short term pain relief in arthritic joints ranging from 1-2 years. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail in a private consultation.

Mch orthopaedic, DNB (Orthopedics), Diploma In Orthopaedics (D. Ortho), MBBS
Orthopedist,
The first step is to ensure that he maintain an appropriate posture while working on the desk. Take frequent stretch breaks and drink lots of water. Discontinue using pillow while sleeping straight. Do not lift heavy objects, especially after bending down. Eat a healthy wholesome meal which should satisfy his minerals and proteins requirement. The most essential and long lasting remedy is exercises. Get an xray done to rule out any inflammatory pathology.
