Hi, Mujhe mere teeth me braces lagane hai, uske liye mujhe kitana charge aayega. Please tell me.
Braces is a long tratmen to move irregular and forwadly placed teeth to normal position and in proper alignment it required 1 to 2 years of treatment time. (every month one appointment) cost of ortho treatment start from 20000 to 50000 depend on case and depend on braces. More costly treatment is also available.

Toothache & Abscess

BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
Toothache & Abscess
The most common reason for a toothache and swelling is a abscessed tooth.

An abscessed tooth is an infection caused by tooth decay, periodontal disease or a cracked tooth. These problems can let bacteria enter the pulp (the soft tissue of a tooth that contains nerves, blood vessels and connective tissue) and can lead to pulp death. When pus builds up at the root tip in the jaw bone, it forms a pus-pocket called an abscess. If the abscess is not treated, it can lead to a serious infection in the jaw bone, teeth and surrounding tissues.

Symptoms of an abscess include:
Pain
Swelling
Redness in the gums
Bad taste in the mouth
Fever
An abscessed tooth can be treated with various treatments, depending on the severity of the infection. Here are some of the treatment methods that may be considered.
Antibiotics, to destroy the bacteria causing the infection
Drainage of the infection
Cleaning the space between the tooth and the gum if the cause is from gum disease
Root canal treatment if the abscess is caused by decay or a cracked tooth
Following good oral hygiene practices and routine dental exams will significantly reduce your risk of developing a tooth abscess. If your teeth experience trauma (become loosened or chipped), see your dentist as soon as possible:

How to prevent my teeth getting out. And what about tooth bonding process. And its max cost?

How to prevent my teeth getting out. And what about tooth bonding process. And its max cost?
Teeth getting out means teeth falling. Technically there is nothing called teeth bonding. You have to maintain a good oral hygiene and gum health. Also check your blood sugar levels are under control. Yes splinting can be tried but patient selection is important. Not every patient is a good candidate for this.

I am 21 year old male, I had mouth ulcer for past few days. What should i do to cure?

MDS Prosthodontics, BDS
Dentist, Hyderabad
Hello lybrate-user, ulcers last for a period of 14 days, from the start to the complete healing. Even if you do not apply anything, the ulcer heals. Avoid eating extremely hot and spicy food. If the ulcer is small, you can apply certain gel over the ulcerated area after consulting the dentist. If the ulcer appears to increase in size rapidly, you should see the dentist immediately.

What Is Gum Disease and How to Prevent It?

What Is Gum Disease and How to Prevent It?

Gum disease is characterized by inflammation of the gums caused by the bacteria present in plaque (a colorless and sticky film on the teeth). This disease affects the soft tissue and the bones surrounding the teeth. The bacteria causes irritation in the gums leading to infection and bleeding, while brushing your teeth.

The symptoms of gum disease are bleeding gums, over sensitive gums, continuous bad breath, change in the normal placement of teeth etc.

Following are a number of reasons why gum diseases occur, some of them are:

  1. Prevailing diseases: Sometimes diseases, such as malignant tumors and AIDS can disrupt the immune system of the body. Due to the malfunctioning immune system, the gums become vulnerable to issues such as cavities.
  2. Smoking and alcohol consumption: Smoking and alcohol consumption cause problems in the gum tissue as the gums lose their ability to repair themselves effectively.
  3. Hormonal changes: Changes in behavior of the hormones in the body can increase sensitivity in the gums. This can make the gums prone to diseases.
  4. Not following proper dental hygiene: Not brushing and flossing on a regular basis can cause plaque accumulation in the teeth. The bacteria present in the plaque may cause gum diseases.
  5. Family history: If many people in the family have suffered from gum disorders, then your chances of getting gum diseases are relatively higher.

How can you prevent gum disease?
Gum diseases can be prevented by following proper dental hygiene. Brushing twice a day and flossing on a regular basis are the best methods of preventing gum diseases. Regular dental checkups are also recommended to identify any gum problems early and also prevent them. Modifications in lifestyle such as limiting smoking, eating a diet rich in antioxidants and reducing stress can also help in preventing gum diseases.

Severe cases of gum diseases may require surgery but mild cases can disappear by following a proper dental hygiene. Gum diseases have also been known to be associated with diabetes and heart diseases.
