There are two options. 1. Removal of the remaining part and replacement of that area by artificial tooth in form of bridge or dental implant. 2. To keep that root part there and Root canal treatment, post and core build then crown placement will be the treatment plan. To know, how exactly which option suits your condition better, you need to visit clinic so that proper examination can be done.

Hi, Recently I find out my lower right wisdom teeth turned into black/brownish color half of the portion but no pain at all. But it caused a pimple inside on the cheek near the wisdom teeth. I am worried so much what exactly has happened to my teeth. If I am supposed to go under surgery to remove the wisdom teeth what are the complications for my age and I used to smoke in past. I don't have any other health problems. Please suggest me something I am really stressed out.

Yes, you need to go for extraction of this tooth. Its all infection which spreading around the tooth and pus will come out from the pimple like structure near tooth. There is no such big complication in general. You didn't mention your age, but the complications are not necessary. If in case it occurs it varies from person to person.

Never ever apply balm or moov for pain in teeth. It will cause swelling. Don't do hot application. You can use ice to soothe your pain. Remember cold and say no no to hot when your tooth aches.

Hi lybrate-user. If you have a generalised gap in your teeth I mean if you have gap present in between each and every tooth then go for a fixed Orthodontic treatment (braces) once you are above 21 years of age. Coming to one missing tooth .You have two options for that. Either you can go for an implant or a bridge. Implant would be a better option but it's a little bit costlier as compared to bridge. In bridge the adjacent two teeth will be compromised as the bridge will take support of the adjacent teeth. I hope you understand the concept of bridge.

Loose Teeth? It might Indicate Much More Than You Know!

Loose Teeth? It might Indicate Much More Than You Know!

You know you're suffering from loose tooth if it moves when you brush or while eating. In fact, loose tooth is an indication that you may suffer from an underlying dental problem. Thus, it's vital to be aware of the problems that may cause you to suffer from tooth mobility.

Here are some of the culprits behind your loose teeth.

1. Periodontal disease - Loose teeth problem can occur if you suffer from periodontal disease. This oral condition causes the bone and ligaments that surround your teeth to get weakened. The problem begins to occur once plaque begins to form on your teeth, more specifically around the gum line, leading to the formation of tartar. Eventually, the gums become inflamed causing periodontal pockets to form around the affected tooth or teeth. The result is bone loss and damage to the connective tissues.

2. Osteoporosis - The condition of osteoporosis sees the bone density around your teeth decreasing, resulting in the problem of loosened teeth. Women with osteoporosis are known to be three times more prone to tooth loss than women who don't suffer from this problem.

3. Pregnancy hormones - High estrogen and progesterone hormones during pregnancy can influence the bone and ligaments surrounding a tooth to loosen. If not accompanied by any other dental complication like periodontal disease, it only causes the problem of tooth mobility.

4. Traumatic injury - The connective tissue and the periodontal ligament that keep your teeth in place can become stretched if extreme pressure is placed on them. Whether it's an accident or a fall, any kind of strain to your mouth can harm the bone and ligaments that surround your tooth. Even grinding your teeth or clenching of the jaws can cause the periodontal ligament to get stretched, causing the loose tooth to occur.
