Exercises for Losing Belly Fat Some very simple but effective exercises to Lose Belly Fat Stretch 1 – Lie down on a floor mat. Position your legs vertically up and stay in this position for 5 to 15 seconds. This can be repeated thrice. Stretch 2 – Lie down on a floor mat. Stretch your legs straight. Place your hands behind your head and lock your fingers. Now raise your torso and bring it towards your knees. Stay in this position for 5 to 10 seconds and slowly return to your lying position. Repeat this for 15 times in sets of 5. Stretch on Chair – Lie down on a floor mat and position yourself with a chair so as to raise your legs on the chair. Your legs should be at 90 degree to the rest of your body. Place your hands behind your head and clasp your fingers. Now lift your torso and rise up as if you want to touch the knees. Continue for 15 minutes and repeat in sets of 3 or 4. Cycling – Lie down on a floor mat. Raise your legs and rotate them as if you are pedalling a cycle vigorously. Repeat the exercise for five minutes in sets of three. Breathing Exercises to Lose Belly Fat Let us briefly understand on how these work. Oxygen acts as fuel for the body. The extra oxygen that you inhale while performing the breathing exercises result in certain chemical reactions that in turn burns up more calories than you actually take in. You lose extra fat. Pavanmuktasan – for practising Pavanmuktasan, take a deep breath as you lie on your back. Bend you left knee, hold your toes and pull it towards your stomach. Simultaneously lift your head and touch your bent knee. Your other leg must be straight. Breathe in and count ten. Return to your original position and breathe out. Repeat the set with your right leg. Bhujangasan – for practising Bhujangasan lie on your stomach and place your hands under your shoulders. Lift your torso backwards using only the back muscles and not your hands. Hold your breath for 5-10 seconds and slowly return to your original position as you breathe out. Dhanurasan – Lie on your stomach and bend your knees. Hold your ankles as you breathe in. Push your body outwards in the shape of a bow and pull your head back as much as possible. Hold this position for 10 seconds and release the posture as you slowly breathe out. Apart from these there are aerobics that also help you to lose belly fat. Regular simple workouts, like jogging, walking up and down through the stairs fast also helps to shed those stubborn belly fat. But remember, it is always advisable to seek the advice of a fitness instructor before you decide as exercise regimen for yourself in order to get the maximum results.

Hi, I am 45 year man. Gaining weight since last year and tummy is increasing. My job takes long sitting hours around 8 to 10 hours daily. Started having backache too and shoulders/arm are getting stiff. Pls help.

You are suffering from increased lordosis in lower back which causes pressure on lumbar spine There may be problem of posture which u mentioned stiffness as a symptom n u also have a sedentary life style Take a physiotherapy assessment and guidance.

You may need cleaning, root canal treatment & capping. Until then rinse thoroughly with mouth wash. Then apply clove oil on the decayed tooth.

पानी जीवन के लिए सर्वाधिक महत्वपूर्ण तत्व है. आपके शरीर के दो-तिहाई भाग में पानी भरा हुआ है. पानी आपकी आंखों और जोड़ों को नम बनाने, आपकी त्वचा को स्वस्थ रखने, शरीर से विषाक्त पदार्थों को बाहर निकालने और पाचन में मदद करने जैसे कई महत्वपूर्ण कार्य करता है. वयस्कों को एक दिन में आठ से दस गिलास पानी पीना चाहिए. हालांकि यह भिन्न भिन्न कारकों पर निर्भर करता है. (और पढ़ें - खाली पेट पानी पीने के 9 बड़े फायदे) जब आप निर्जलित होते हैं उस समय आपके शरीर में तरल पदार्थ पर्याप्त मात्रा में नहीं होते हैं. पानी की कमी आपके शरीर में खनिज (शर्करा और नमक के) संतुलन को बिगाड़ सकती है. यदि निर्जलीकरण का समय पर उपचार नहीं किया गया तो यह मस्तिष्क क्षति और गंभीर मामलों में मृत्यु का कारण भी बन सकता है. इसीलिए गंभीर निर्जलीकरण की स्थिति में जल्द से जल्द चिकित्सा सुविधा प्राप्त करायी जाती है. आइए पानी की कमी से उत्पन्न होने वाले लक्षणों को विस्तारपूर्वक समझें.
1. प्यास लगना, मुंह सूखना: जब हमारे शरीर में पानी की कमी होती है तो इसका सबसे मुख्य लक्षण है प्यास लगना या मुंह सुखना. दरअसल हमारे शरीर में होने वाली पानी की कमी का मुख्य सूचक ही मुंह का सुखना है. पानी की कमी होने पर मुंह सुखने लगता है.
2. कम मूत्र त्यागना: हमारे शरीर में पानी की पर्याप्त मात्रा न होने के कारण मूत्र त्याग और मूत्र के रंग में अंतर हो जाता है. पानी की कमी होने पर एक तो बहुत कम मूत्र त्याग होता है और दुसरे में इसका रंग भी पिला या गहरा पिला हो जाता है.
3. सूखी त्वचा, बहुत शुष्क त्वचा: निर्जलीकरण के दौरान हमारे शरीर की त्वचा बेहद शुष्क हो जाती है. जाहिर है कि हमारे त्वचा की नमी और इसे मुलायम बनाने में पानी की मुख्य भूमिका होती है. इसलिए जब पानी की कमी हो जाती है तो त्वचा शुष्क हो जाती है.
4. मांसपेशियों में ऐंठन: पानी की कमी के कारण हमारे मांसपेशियों में ऐंठन भी आ जाती है. मांसपेशियों में ऐंठन आने को भी आप शरीर में पानी की कमी ही मान सकते हैं.
5. चक्कर आना: जब हमारे शरीर में पानी की कमी होती है तो अक्सर ये भी देखा गया है कि चक्कर आने लगता है या सर में दर्द होने लगता है. निर्जलीकरण के दौरान अक्सर ये लक्षण भी स्पष्ट नजर आता है.
6. धड़कनों का तेज़ होना: शरीर में होने वाली पानी की कमी को आप अपने तेजी से चलते साँसों और धड़कनों के द्वारा भी महसूस कर सकते हैं. जब आपका धड़कन तेज हो जाए तो समझिए ये पानी की कमी के कारण भी हो सकता है.
7. धंसी हुई आंखें: कई लोगों में ये भी देखा गया है कि पानी की कमी के कारण उनकी आँखें धंस जाती हैं. या अन्दर की तरफ चली जाती हैं. ये भी पानी की कमी होने के मुख्य लक्षणों में से एक है.
8. जरुरत से ज्यादा नींद आना: जब हमारे शरीर में पानी की कमी होती है या निर्जलीकरण होता है तो हमें जरूरत से ज्यादा नींद आती है. इस दौरान ऐसा लगता है जैसे हमारे शरीर में ऊर्जा की कमी हो गई है.
9. चिड़चिड़ापन महसूस होना: पानी की कमी होने पर नजर आने वाले लक्षणों में से एक चिडचिडापन महसूस होना है. पानी की कमी या निर्जलीकरण के दौरान आप भ्रमित या चिडचिडापन महसूस करते हैं.
10. बेहोशी आना: कई बार ऐसा भी देखा जाता है कि जब हमारे शरीर में पानी की जबरदस्त कमी हो जाती है तो आपको बेहोशी भी आ सकती है. ये तब होता है जब शरीर में पानी की भयंकर कमी हो जाती है.

Also, not only the quantity but the quality of sleep is also important for a healthy lifestyle. Bedtime habits do play a vital role in shaping up your lifestyle and personality as a whole. Here are 6 lifestyle habits that can help you to get sound sleep on a daily basis.

1. Having a fixed sleep pattern: Going to sleep and waking up approximately during the same time every day helps to maintain an equilibrium in the sleep-wake cycle. If this balance is maintained then your body will be accustomed to this pattern and as a result, you will feel less tired and sleepy during the daytime.

2. Maintaining certain dietary regulations: You should also maintain a proper diet plan and examine the consequences of the foods that you are eating and the fluids that you are drinking. Taking a proper and nutritious diet on a daily basis will help you to stay healthy by not disrupting your natural sleep-wake cycle.

3. Ensuring that your room has appropriate lighting: The level of light also matters at the time of your sleep. You should definitely make sure that there is a very minimal level of light around you during bed time. This should be done because the lesser is the light, the more comfortable you are while sleeping. Additionally, the sleep that you will get into a dark room will also be sound and undistorted as it helps keep all the sensory organs calm.

The above-mentioned activities are just suggestive and you should do anything that helps you to get a sound sleep.

6. Having daytime naps: Having short naps of less than one hour is absolutely okay if you are excessively tired during the day or you did not have a sound sleep the previous night. But, if you are consistently having long naps during the day then you are bound to have sleep issues during the night. One of my relatives 24 years old female person married just one year back. From the starting itself she is getting pain in her vagina at the time of sex. She is getting feared to meet with a sexual relation with her husband for that pain. She thought in the starting it might be painful later on it would be normal but after one year also the same pain is happening. pain during intercourse can be due to faulty or forceful technique or a tight vaginal cavity . foreplay helps in lubrication which will ease the process. Also she can use lignocaine gel available in market before the act to relieve pain.

Menstrual Irregularities

A regular menstrual period is when you bleed for 5-6 days every month. A normal cycle is 11-13 menstrual periods every year. An irregular menstrual period is when there are less than 10 or more than 14 menstrual periods in a year.

Initially, when a teenage girl reaches puberty, the menstrual cycles are a little irregular. It takes a few months to a couple of years before the hormones are balanced and the cycles come in regular intervals.

Peri-menopausal women have extremely irregular periods, ranging from mere spotting in some months to severe bleeding and muscular cramps in the next few months. As a woman approaches menopause, there are wide fluctuations in hormones that cause the irregularity.

Other Causes Of Menstrual Irregularities-

  1. Excessive weight gain or weight loss. Obesity has been found to cause menstrual irregularities.

  2. Emotional stress and anxiety.

  3. Persistent physical exhaustion.

  4. Illness.

  5. Increase in exercise. Heavy exercise and endurance regimes are known to cause missed or irregular periods.

  6. Travelling, differences in temperature and weather conditions can affect periods.

  7. Contraceptive pills and other birth control medications.

  8. Polycystic ovarian syndrome.

  9. Other medical issues with the pelvic organs.

  10. Inadequate rest and sleep.

  11. Indulging in too much of processed or fried food.

  12. Breastfeeding can cause menstrual irregularities and regain normalcy after it has been stopped completely.

  13. Eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa or bulimia has been known to cause menstrual irregularities.

Treatments-

  1. A balanced diet which includes enough proteins, calcium and vitamins.

  2. Abstinence from caffeine and alcohol.

  3. Light but regular exercising.

  4. Take some medication after due consultation with a doctor.

  5. Abstain from smoking or consuming tobacco in any form.

  6. Take vitamin and folic acid supplements.

  7. Get yourself checked for blood sugar or cholesterol.

  8. Maintain an optimum body weight.

  9. In case of missed periods for over 2 months, do a home pregnancy check up or visit the gynaecologist.

  10. Stay away from situations that stress you and attempt to control your anxiety. Cultivate an activity that you enjoy, be optimistic and enjoy life.
