Hello Don't eat from filled teeth. This will take time. And if your filling is dried and you are allowed to eat from that side then, I suggest you not to eat hard food. And if it's not the reason then visit a dentist and ask for X-ray of teeth. Find any cavity left or any breakage in teeth.

How Paneer Helps In Improving Bone And Teeth Health?

MBBS
General Physician, Bangalore
How Paneer Helps In Improving Bone And Teeth Health?

Paneer, also known as cottage cheese, is a dairy product which is made by curdling the milk with the help of lemon or vinegar and then draining the liquid. Not only is it delicious and an integral part of some of the most popular dishes of Indian cuisine, it is also a very good source of calcium, protein and healthy fats that help in improving the functioning of the body.

Here are some of the surprising health benefits of this Indian dietary staple:

  1. Diabetes-friendly: The carbohydrate content is low in paneer, which makes it a very good option for diabetics. Consumption of paneer does not cause a surge in the blood sugar level as it is digested slowly by the body.
  2. Improves bone and teeth health: Protein is a good source of calcium and phosphorus that helps in improving the health of the teeth and bones in the body.
  3. Helps in weight lossCottage cheese is a great source of conjugated linoleic acid that helps in boosting the metabolism of the body, thus aiding weight loss. Plus, it lowers the risk of cancer by reducing the amount of bad cholesterol in the body.
  4. Contains high amounts of protein:  Enriched with vegetable protein, which is the basic building component of muscles and bones, paneer is known to keep your muscles and bones in good health. Besides, the protein in paneer is essential for brain development and the development of the fetus, making it another reason why it should be a part of your diet.
  5. Improves metabolism: Paneer contains high amounts fiber, which helps in improving the digestive process of the body. It also adds bulk to the stool and helps in feeling full.
  6. Controls blood pressure: It regulates blood pressure as it contains potassium, which helps in lowering blood pressure by controlling the effect that sodium has on your body.
  7. Boosts the immune system: Paneer contains compounds that help in strengthening the immune system, thereby preventing disorders like common cold, cough and bronchial asthma. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a General Physician.

I just removed my tooth but it's base is still there as the dentist is unable to extract it because of excessive pain. So if still left there does it cause any harm in future.

I just removed my tooth but it's base is still there as the dentist is unable to extract it because of excessive pain...
Dear Lybrate User, By base you mean to say that the remaining tooth or root structure (a root stump to be precise!) has been left behind by you dentist while extracting the tooth. Now if the tooth was already infected, leaving the tooth or root fragment like that might call for infection and pain in the future. If the dentist has left the last bit of the root inside which is not loose and accessible, it might be left in-situ. You need the dentist to take an X-Ray of the remaining tooth or root to determine its precise location. For all practical purposes, if you do not have any symptoms, you may defer the extraction but if you have lingering pain or any infection, you MUST get the remaining portion extracted by some more specialised dentist like an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon. Take Care!

I have a lot of pain in tooth what should I do to prevent it give me the solution.
Pain in teeth can be caused by many things like it can b due to-- 1-dental cavities which are deep enough to expose pulp (nerve) causing its irritation leading to pain and infection, 2- gum problems 3- any trauma to tooth 4- pain due to tmjoint. For better diagnosis and treatment plan visit a dentist for full clinical examination along with xrays. (as without seeing I cannot suggest you proper treatment).

Sir I have doing brush twice a day. But bad smell is coming from my mouth. What is the reason.
Hi, there are various reasons of bad breath like impurities in blood, inefficient digestive system, dry mouth (lack of saliva production), gum disease, cavities, plaque and tartar formation around teeth and gums, kind of diet, improper brushing / cleaning of mouth etc. I would advise you to get a thorough physical and dental examination to rule out the cause of bad breath and to solve it permanently. Hi, I have fluorosis. I feel embarrass when I smile. please suggest something to get rid of this problem.

Hi,
I have fluorosis. I feel embarrass when I smile. please suggest something to get rid of this problem.
Visit a dentist. The method of acidic micro abrasion, followed by remineralisation procedures, assures a considerable recovery of the dental surfaces affected by fluorosis. Best way is capping or veneers for upper front 6 teeth & lower front 6 teeth. Until then use tooth mousse tooth paste. Apply this paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min. Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results.

Use of a tongue scraper a day, keeps bad breath away! Like our teeth, our tongue also develops tongue plaque which results in bad breath. So, like our teeth, our tongue also needs to be cleaned daily. Keeping it clean on a daily basis will give you a fresher breath and a fresher mouth.

General Physician,
Gums bacteria can cause preterm delivery

Proper dental care can prevent heart attacks, heart blockages, asthma and COPD. This was stated by Padma Shri, Dr B C Roy & DST National Science Communication Awardee, Dr K K Aggarwal, President Heart Care Foundation of India and Honorary Secretary General IMA. Bacteria present in the gums have been linked to many diseases in the past.

Periodontal treatment should be included in prenatal care programs, as per a study in the Journal of Periodontology, which has shown that treating gum disease in pregnant women may prevent preterm birth.

The study has shown that while pregnant women, in whom the periodontal disease was treated, were no more likely to deliver their babies prematurely than women with no gum disease, those who did not get treatment had a nearly 90-fold increased risk of premature delivery.

Another study found that the more bacteria women with periodontal disease had in their gums during and after pregnancy, the more likely they were to deliver their infants prematurely.

I am pretty sure that your gums have not turned black over night. Black pigmentation of gums is because of a natural pigmentation called melanin. In addition Smoking can cause an increase in pigmentation and black appearance of gums. If you are a smoker then discontinuing this habit can result in reduction in pigmentation. However if you want to completely get rid of all the black pigmentation then there is a clinical procedure called gingival stripping. For this you would have to consult a periodontist who has experience in doing lazer gingival stripping.

You should most definitely get the cleaning done and also follow it up on a more regular basis in the future to ensure the problem doesn' t progress. All you need to ensure that the procedure is done with proper ultrasonic powered instruments and in the right manner.

Using an appropriate tooth paste is very necessary for the health of our teeth. Tooth pastes which contain flouride help in keeping the teeth healthy by reducing the risk of tooth decay.

When to Go for Root Canal

MDS, BDS
Dentist, Gurgaon
When to Go for Root Canal

Not every tooth infection requires a root canal and hence it is essential to know the indication of a root canal. But exactly a root canal procedure is and why is it required?

A root canal means that the pulp or soft tissue inside a tooth has been damaged by bacterial infection. A root canal involves removing the damaged pulp, cleaning the infection and filling in the emptied space.

So, how do you know that you need a root canal. Here are some telltale signs:

  • Gum tenderness: Swelling that indicates the need of root canal treatment can range from being slightly red and inflamed to pronounced lumps on the gums. In some extreme cases, this swelling may extend out of the gums into the face and neck region. Sometimes, a pus filled boil with a pimple like head may also form on the gums. If this head bursts, the patient may notice a foul taste in the mouth. This swelling can come and go as the tooth decay deteriorates and may or may not be accompanied by pain. Teeth may also feel like they have been pushed out of their sockets and are taller than usual.
  • Pain: Discomfort ranging from a dull ache to a sharp pain can be a sign that you need root canal treatment. This type of pain is usually characterized by throbbing and may change as you switch positions. It is usually triggered by chewing, applying pressure on the tooth or eating something cold or hot. In some cases, the patient may not be able to indicate the exact tooth that is hurting but can only identify the painful area.
  • Exposure of the dental nerves: At times during regular dental work, the nerves in the tooth may be exposed. This indicates an exposure of pulp tissue and can trigger pulp degeneration if left untreated. However, all of the above symptoms can be symptoms of other types of dental problems as well and do not necessarily individually indicate the need for a root canal. Only a dentist can properly diagnose a need for root canal treatment after a physical examination and testing.
  • Tooth discolouration: Discolouring of teeth can be a sign of internal tooth damage. This is especially noted if the teeth take on a dark yellow, grey or blackish tint. Tooth discolouration is fairly common in cases where the tooth has undergone trauma such as an accident etc.
