I just wanted to ask why your stomach bulges and then shrinks when you inhale and exhale. Please tell.

PDDM, MHA, MBBS

I just wanted to ask why your stomach bulges and then shrinks when you inhale and exhale. Please tell.
During normal relaxed breathing, your stomach will gently move up and down as you breath in and out. This is due to the fact that the diaphragm presses down on contents of your stomach during inspiration causing it to bulge out.

I have done two brain MRIs in the last 15 months and have been told by the doctors that due to combination of lacunar infarcts observed in the frontal lobe and mucosal thickening in left maxillary sinus, has resulted in low blood flow to the brain. This is caused vertigo and there is no cure.

PGD Maternal Child Health, MBBS
General Physician, Akola

Vertigo is caused due to disturbances in semicircular canals of vestibular apparatus of the internal ear, blood supply to the posterior part (back) of brain especially pons, medulla and cerebellum. Frontal cortex is not concerned with this type of function. Blood supply to brain is through carotid artery which does not pass through maxillary sinus and its mucosal thickening should not be a reason for decrease in blood supply or lacunar infarctions. While there may not be a reason to deny the facts of the MRI reports but the explanations offered to you sound to be least plausible. Frontal cortex is mostly controlling emotional functions and memory of the person.

Those symptoms too may be an extension of your ocd. You need to continue the medication as prescribed plus behavioral therapy if already started. Your physician will prescribe if vomiting and breathlessness is really alarming. Be strong, only your resolution can pull you out of this problem.

I was suffering from heavy cough in the start of this winter season. Then I suffered from running nose .I have taken quite a few homeopathic medicines and now I am fine but I still feel stiffness in my throat. Every time before speaking I have to keep on clear my throat. It feels puffy. Kindly suggest any homeopathic medicine.

Whenever there is mucous discharge from the nostrils I will suggest you to take one tablet of cetrizine at night and For dry cough I will suggest you to take syp Ascoril-D 2.5 ml and can repeat after a gap of six hours as and when required

I am suffering from dry cough for last two weeks. Can you suggest what should be done.

BHMS
Homeopath, Raebareli
Please take Bryonia 200 – once daily for next 3-4 days. Drink plenty of warm fluids. Drinking warm fluids helps to loosen the secretions in your sinuses so that your mucus flows more freely, making you feel better faster. Studies show that drinking warm fluids relieves cold symptoms such as runny nose, cough, sneezing, sore throat, and fatigue.

Hi I have cough and it happens every year as weather changes. From winter to summer. Can you give me some suggestions.

DNB (Respiratory diseases), MBBS
Allergist/Immunologist, Nagpur
It is probably due to nasal allergy. Commonly nasal and sinus fluids keep on dripping from the back of nose over throat leading to repeated and persistent throat itching and inflammation and hence cough. However, it may be due to airway allergic inflammation ie. Asthma also. I may help. But first do a spirometry test if available and respond.
