Hello sir. My name is sunny Singh. I have teeth problems. And I have teeth pain. I need to your help. Please help me.

BDS
Dentist, Vadodara
Teeth pain can be due to decay, gum infection or sensitivity. Get your teeth x-rayed to determine the cause. Decay can be removed n the cavity can be filled with cement with or without rct. Gum infection can be treated by doing scaling and polishing n maintaining the same through proper oral hygiene habits. For sensitivity, use desensitizing toothpaste twice daily.

I have yellow stain on my teeth which is not removed by brushing .how can it remove.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Hello lybrate-user, cause of discoloration - Smoking, coffee, tea, drugs, aging, staining food (wine, blueberry, etc) genetics. The yellow bacterial film called “plaque” that occurs naturally in your mouth can build up if not removed regularly through good oral hygiene practices. Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning, polishing along with whitening (bleaching) procedures and / or artificial enamel filling and / or capping. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Use Snowdent tooth paste for whitening until then. Apply SNOWDENT paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min .Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results. You may consult me in person.

Replace ur missing teeth to avoid further loss of tooth

By bike accident my large central incisors are broken with one canine of my left side. But I'm this time 17 years old it means I am too little. Doctors told me that they will inset or implant bridge of 7 teeth's .Is that better for me? Or what I have to do?

MDS pediatric dentistry, BDS
Dentist, Ghaziabad
The line of management depends 1. On the extent of amount of tooth loss 2. Condition of each tooth along with their supporting structures The treatment ranges from Crown build up to rct followed by ceramic or zirconia crowns. Implant or bridge is given only when there is a need of extracting one or more teeth. Yes you being very young, a right treatment with proper and experienced skills is a must for long lasting and esthetically good treatment results.

Regular Care for Dentures

Regular Care for Dentures

Teeth need to be maintained well be it natural or artificial. While the natural teeth have their own built-in safety mechanisms, the artificial ones do not and the onus is completely on the owner to care for them. Dentures can be fixed or removable (partial or complete). For best appearance and proper functioning, these need to be cared for as listed below.

Removable dentures, whether partial or complete, do the following with your removable dentures.

1. Remove and rinse dentures after eating: Take out your dentures and wash it under running water to remove food debris.

2. Handle with care: Especially if your denture has clasps, be sure to not bend them as it may alter the fit. While removing and wearing it, be careful to not drop it, the denture can break.

3. Mouth rinse: Rinse your mouth each time after you remove the denture and before each time you put them back in.

4. Brushing: Use a soft-bristled brush for regular cleaning of teeth and tongue. If no teeth are present, use a soft gauze pad and plain finger massage to clean the gum line and bone on which the denture sits.

5. Soak dentures: When not in the mouth, always place your dentures in a bowl of water. Solution for soaking dentures are available, to be used for overnight denture soaking. When left in open air, the material used to make the denture is affected and may not fit properly over a period of time. Rinse them thoroughly before putting it back in the mouth.

6. Clean your dentures: Rinse the dentures at least twice daily. This will help remove food and plaque.

7. Denture adhesive: When using a denture adhesive, extra cleaning around the area that fits into the gum and bone should be done.

8. Regular dental visits: Visit your dentist regularly to ensure that dentures are fitting properly, functioning as expected and the other parts of the mouth are constantly checked for general health. Ill-fitting dentures can lead to irritation, sores and infection and so should be immediately attended to.

Some things to avoid if you are a denture user are as follows:

1. Soaking the denture in hot water: The denture material can get warped when it is soaked in hot water and have spots on it, which impacts the looks of it.

2. Hard toothbrushes: Always use a soft toothbrush

3. Toothpastes with whitening agents: In most cases, the denture cleanser and normal water and sufficient to clean dentures with a soft brush.

4. Fixed dentures: These are easier to manage than the removable ones. However, periodic visits to the dentist for regular check up is a must. A visit every 6 months is ideal to maintain proper oral hygiene. In addition, regular brushing, flossing, and rinsing are to be continued.

Can a Root Canal Actually Be Painless? Shocking Facts Revealed

Can a Root Canal Actually Be Painless? Shocking Facts Revealed

How scared are you of root canals? what if we tell you. You no longer need to be?
Root canals are easily one of the most dreaded treatments in the world. I have seen patients compare the anxiety they feel before a root canal to things like open heart surgery and labour. The last thing you want to hear on a dental chair is the diagnosis that you need a root canal. The horror stories surrounding this dental treatment range from gruesome to excruciating.

This article is an attempt to dispel the mystery and pain associated with root canals and show you how far we have come from the horrors to the sophistication of the latest technology.

From painful to pleasing

What are root canals really?
In its simplest sense a root canal is a deep filling done by cleaning the infection from the third and innermost layer of the tooth which is made up of nerves and blood vessels.

Our tooth is made up of 3 layers the first 2 are hard and confined layers called enamel and dentin when decay affects these it is very slow to spread and easy to remove and fill within one short session.

The third layer may take 1-3 sessions to clean as the infection may have spread or collected in the supporting tooth structures.

Why are root canals considered painful?

The 3rd layer of our tooth is a nerve chamber containing soft nerves and blood vessels in communication with the rest of our body.

This is the place that communicates pain to our brain and this is why when decay or bacteria hit this soft deeper layer we experience sharp shooting pain.

Top 3 reasons why root canals used to be painful

Improper or inadequate anesthesia to numb the inflamed nerve
Mechanical instrumentation to manually pull out the nerve which we now dissolve and clean with automated machines
Lack of the right medications to use within the tooth.

What happens to root canal infections if left untreated?
If this pain is suppressed with medication and not treated it can lead to an infection spreading within the bone which may later lead to a swelling with pus etc.

If this infection is left within it can eat into the supporting bone and eventually infect or affect the adjacent teeth as well.

I'm suffering from teeth pain as I drink some cold thing. Can you suggest what should I do?

BDS
Dentist, Delhi
Hi sonali, your teeth have become sensitive to cold food-stuff and water. Sensitivity may occur due to a variety of causes, the most common being: 1. Brushing Your Teeth Too Hard 2. Gum diseases 3. Dental cavity If you are applying too much pressure while brushing, it is likely to lead to a condition called as attrition, wherein the the outermost tough layer of the teeth (enamel) begins to wear, exposing the underlying structures that are more sensitive to cold stuff. If that is the case, you need to use a soft brush and put minimal pressure on your teeth while brushing. Also, you must switch to an anti-sensitivity toothpaste which will help reduce your problem to a considerable extent. In case you have an inadequately maintained oral hygiene, is likely that you may have developed a gum problem, which is manifesting as sensitivity. For that, you would be required to get a thorough professional cleaning/scaling done from a dentist. It will solve your problem. Besides the above, dental cavities also cause abnormal sensations to cold water. You will have to get it checked from a dentist, and if such a cavity is present, it may require a filling. You can consult me privately for more specific answers. Hope that helps.
